I don’t know if you guys even check this specific sub-forum anymore—maybe it's just soccer or something else now—but there are only three mods running this whole show:
Serse L. Nimoy Ferdibrand Boffin
No matter how much those three try to keep things organized or actually make this place interesting, they’re just drowning... It's impossible. People have actual lives to live, plus there are way too many threads to track, and honestly, the sheer influx of new users is just overwhelming at this point.
A huge chunk of them are just showing up to spam, troll, or pull whatever other nonsense isn't allowed on an American forum like this.
So, I’m asking the higher-ups to step in and deal with this ASAP because it’s getting pretty unbearable...
Give me a break, Elizabeth Diaz42—you’re really out here acting like you've won the lottery or something...🙏🙏>😍 Congrats on your first big trip, I guess...🙂lux:
I’m jumping in here as just another one of those "drive-by" users who doesn't even have three posts in the Jokes section, but I’m definitely one of those people who William Myers7 has been keeping entertained for ages with his pictures, GIFs, and whatever other media he throws out there. The issue, if you ask me, isn't really that Countess almost never shows up in that specific thread—which ties back to my opening line and what Henry Edwards33 was saying earlier—it’s more about the fact that she’s not exactly a veteran user on Forums.com🙂, let alone an experienced moderator. Now, whether the decision to turn the Funny Photo thread into what it has become was driven by some sudden burst of ego from her (unlikely🙂) or if it came down from the higher-ups... well, maybe someone in charge can weigh in on that.🙂
The second thing is this: when picking moderators for the Jokes section, they clearly didn't look at "past contributions," which is usually how this works. If they actually went by that metric, William Myers7 would’ve been first in line for the job. And no, I don't know the guy personally, we aren't buddies, I'm not covering for him, or anything like that. I'm just showing up as some random surfer passing through.😁 If they weren't going to pick one of the old-timers on the site, the next logical choice should have been an experienced moderator from another sub-forum. I mean, sure, the community might have complained if someone from the Pets forum stepped in, but it definitely wouldn't have blown up to this scale when the current mod hasn't even been registered for a full year. Look, obviously seniority isn't a strict requirement for being a good moderator, but it doesn't take long to figure out who actually knows what they're doing and who's just winging it.🙂
Take Jacob Foster11, for example. You became a mod relatively recently, but in that short window, you've already proven you're great at it.
Anyway, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That’s basically my bottom line for this whole thing.
And if it’s even possible, maybe I could just upload some kind of photo—you know, like in a swimsuit or something... or even without one—just to serve as actual evidence...
briskbison41 said:That feature exists on vB forums too; it usually looks like a little white scale sitting right next to those report icons in the postbit area. But honestly, it’s just as useless as the "thanks/groans" button.
And let me tell you, it’s the most mindless, pointless nonsense... I remember us going at it for months on some poker forum over whether stuff like that was actually necessary or not. At the end of the day, it boils down to being the exact same deal as a like/dislike button. Bottom line? I'm against it...
Arthur Anderson49 said:All these waffle products are just way too sensitive to moisture—it’s ridiculous. As soon as they soak up even a tiny bit of humidity, they lose like 75 percent of their quality instantly. They’re supposed to be totally crisp and crunchy... once that goes, it's game over...
I really hope that's actually the reason... Honestly, I think I might just try my luck with a KitKat again tomorrow morning and see if things go any differently.
darkviper7 said:Yeah, it’s overpriced as hell, but honestly... once I saw that crap sitting there on the shelf at Kroger today, I realized just how much of a rip-off it actually is... $1.75 I’m losing my mind... seriously... 😁 It’s all just a massive circle... everything coming back around to where it started... $0.67 Maybe I’d actually eat the stuff more often if it were around...
It’s sitting at around $3.50 over at California... honestly, who cares? Even if it was only $2, I’d still think the whole thing looks like absolute garbage...😠😬 🤣
Bradley Jones8 said:Honestly, those KitKats over at Walmart are straight-up fakes... $4.75 Got eight of them—honestly, the flavor is a dead ringer for a KitKat... yummy...
Wait, isn't there supposed to be ten in a pack?...🤔
William Cooper11 said:That Uruguay jersey is killer🙂 If anyone happens to know where I can snag one here in the States, let me know. I’d really appreciate it.👍
Look, as someone who uses way too many emojis—which has gotten me flagged for spamming and off-topic nonsense more times than I care to admit, not to mention catching a few bans myself (hey, hollowtrucker77 🙂🤣)—I’m telling you, a smiley can absolutely be an insult. It all comes down to context. Misunderstandings usually happen during those weird, outlier situations where people from different corners of the site cross paths—users who don't hang out in the same subforums and don't really get how the other person talks or expresses themselves. What one person thinks is just a little joke... the other person sees as a straight-up slap in the face. 🤷
