What's the point? It's all meaningless. in Psychology & Therapy ·
Look, if you were actually dealing with deep depression, you wouldn't be putting in the effort to write this whole post right now. You’d probably just be staring blankly at a wall, hungry and exhausted. Is it possible you're just looking for an excuse to skip studying? 😁
If you really want to spend the next sixty years sitting around doing absolutely nothing, then go ahead...

Yep, I'm all set. Picked up my own macOS. I don't mess around with old CDs or DVDs anymore.

Blood in semen: what should I do? in Health ·
So, my mom was crying her eyes out yesterday because she found out Dad has blood in his semen. She’s totally spiraling, convinced it’s definitely prostate cancer (though I didn't see those specific symptoms mentioned in Vilkov's post earlier). Dad finally admitted this has been going on for a while now and he's just... kind of accepted it. Honestly, I’m going to force him to see a doctor if I have to—he's being stubborn, but I'm booking his appointment for tomorrow. In the meantime, does anyone know anything about this? He's 66. It hasn't been causing him any major pain up until now.
Way too much... I'm hitting 3 or 4 Nescafé Irish Cream servings a day in my little milk frother.
I actually tried to quit, but man, the headaches were absolutely brutal.

I’m heading to see Dr. Tomić over on Voćarska. Honestly, he’s been great—managed my whole pregnancy without any issues. Plus, his wife is a pediatrician, so it’s super convenient having both experts in one spot. And from what I can tell, his rates are pretty reasonable compared to some of the crazy prices you guys mentioned.
Someone brought up Višnja Tadić earlier. I remember her from when she worked at the student clinic over ten years ago, and she didn't exactly leave a stellar impression on me. It’s funny how much people change once they move over to private practice, isn't it?
As for the maternity ward... when I had my first kid, I’ll admit, I was expecting something out of an American movie. You know, high-tech machines going *piiiiiing* and all that. Instead, I walked into a room where there was just a bucket and a broom in the corner... and felt like I was facing down a dragon with a razor blade! But hey, the staff at the hospital on Petrova were actually really professional. I don't have anything too bad sticking in my mind, especially since husbands are allowed to be there during delivery now.
Yeah, you’re totally right. Honestly, I could definitely use to drop a few pounds too, so I'm definitely going to be following this thread. But man, the scheduling is always my biggest struggle. It's so hard to find that balance with the rest of the family and trying to eat healthy while I'm stuck at work... all that nutritious stuff takes so much prep work, and I just haven't been able to make it work with my life. Sadly, I'm still figuring it out.
Man, you’re preaching to the choir... I’m all about that lean protein life—lots of fish, some chicken, and plenty of grilled veggies with just a tiny splash of olive oil.
I stick to whole grain bread, too, and even then, I’m strictly limiting myself to two slices max.
Ugh, gross.
I'm right there with you.

Yeah, I’m with you, Ian Moj. The ethno vibe is actually pretty cool, but man, his vocals were a total disaster. Just awful.
Remember when Ukrainka performed at our place, I think it was during the Grammy Awards? Did anyone else catch that half the dancers didn't even have teeth?

I'm right there with you on that.

If you’re feeling down, it means you aren't just making stuff up in your head. Honestly, I wouldn't even mention it to anyone—people can be seriously nasty sometimes.
But honestly, the money is the real kicker. My friend is going through some rough stuff right now; it seems like a lot of it stems from her childhood. She’s been seeing a private therapist who’s actually helping her out a ton. The biggest thing is how much her self-esteem took a hit. But man, an hour session here in New York City costs $67. And she’s going at least once a week. If I remember right, she was even going twice a week at first when things were hitting the fan.
And look, my friend isn't "crazy." It’s not like she’s dealing with depression, paranoia, or schizophrenia. She’s just trying to shake off those ghosts from her past that have basically defined who she is forever.

No offense intended, but I honestly think you could really benefit from talking to a professional.
Maybe try seeing a therapist—trust me, I know a few people who have worked through most of their baggage that way. It sucks, and some people just aren't fit to be parents, leaving scars that last a lifetime, but there comes a point where you just have to cut ties, make peace with the past, and start moving forward without all that weight on your shoulders.

Uh, I'm heading out tomorrow.

Ugh, I guess I really am getting old if my first instinct isn't to just Google everything immediately. I did some digging online and it looks like I've got conjunctivitis. Thanks, hiddenviper9!
Kenneth Hernandez67, don't worry—the towels are already in the wash, the mascara is in the trash, and I’m tossing the sheets in the machine the second my roommates finally roll out of bed.
Eyes in Health ·
Last night my eyes were absolutely killing me—it felt like someone had literally thrown a handful of glass shards right into them. It got so bad I couldn't even keep them open, so I just crawled into bed. Woke up this morning feeling slightly less stinging, but my eyes were so crusty I could barely pry them open. Plus, my eyelids are super swollen. Honestly, I wouldn't be this freaked out if my little guy hadn't woken me up complaining about his eye, too. When I checked, his left eyelid was swollen as well, though not quite as intense as mine. We've never dealt with anything like this before. I initially thought maybe it was my fault because I'd been sleeping in my mascara for two nights straight and only washing it off in the morning... but now that he's got it too? I'm stumped.
I wouldn't normally stress, but it's New Year's, so there's no way any doctors are working until Monday. Does anyone have a clue what this might be or how we can fix it?
I'm sure staring at my screen all day is a genius move on my part.
There are certain movies I absolutely obsessed over when I was a kid, but honestly? They’re totally unwatchable to me now. Like, I just sat through Excalibur recently and—ugh—the dialogue was just unbearable... But then there are those classics I still find myself revisiting a few times a year, like Dreams, the submarine, or the meaning of life... plus Cabaret,
I caught Underground Warrior the other day, but I'm still not quite sure how I feel about it.
