Oops, I see now, though I didn't quite realize those were the 😬 . I was actually searching for a heavy cream based on the photo, so I suppose I wasn't paying close enough attention to the details 🙂 . My thanks to 😘 .
Zachary Gray35, I find myself somewhat perplexed by your recent findings; where on earth did you manage to track down those greasy ones? I have spent an exhaustive amount of time scouring the internet, yet they seem to evade my every search attempt 😕
Joshua Clark, I find myself truly captivated by everything you have been sharing here! Once my travels bring me to New York City, I shall make it my absolute priority to reach out to you most warmly 😉 Your cakes sound absolutely divine, and I must say, the aesthetic design they possess seems quite singular and distinctive 😉
Joshua Clark, you strike me as someone who is truly multi-talented in so many different ways 😍 I was wondering, would you happen to have any photographs of those cakes you've been crafting lately? In retrospect, I can't help but wonder why the idea for such a business didn't cross your mind sooner 🙂
True, though I suspect nobody is actually going to step up and produce these for a reasonable price here in America—or frankly, anywhere else for that matter 😁
As for my own preferences, I find the second and fifth options to be the most compelling 👍
What on earth are these "stubs" you're talking about? Forgive me, I don't think I quite followed your meaning... Harold Miller24, is that cake of yours made with those stubs, or is it without them?
Sly said:I suppose I should offer my own thoughts and wishes regarding the desserts... To be honest, we ended up ordering our cake and pastries from Small House in Oakwood; the cake was remarkably similar to the one David Torres5 posted, specifically the one in the bottom left corner. It’s composed of three blocks stacked atop one another with a slight rotation, and since everything we tend to go for here is in shades of brown and beige, the cake followed suit—beige with chocolatey edges... it's difficult to describe quite right, but there was an ad in that wedding magazine, and they even had a feature on cakes in one issue where this exact style was used as the prime example. A cake serving 120 people set me back $400 and the pastries were $20/lb—we tasted them, and they were truly delicious... I originally found them through that advertisement, but it turns out a few of my friends have been buying their sweets there for years and gave me glowing recommendations... when we went in to finalize the details (which happened to be a Saturday afternoon), the exact same cake from the photo was sitting right there on the table... so, I was able to see firsthand exactly what it looks like in person... anyway, those are my impressions thus far... oh, and the owner is just lovely and so very kind...🙂
Sly, where exactly is that Small House located? That would actually be much more convenient for me than Sweet Secret, which has held the top spot on my list until now.🙂
copperraven39, I assure you, nothing has happened to the sky; everything is perfectly fine. They will package those cookies for you with such meticulous care that there won't be a single issue to worry about... perhaps you should just ask at the local bakery, as I am certain they have dealt with similar situations before.
I have personally attended several weddings where pastries from the Midwest were delivered all the way to Washington, D.C. by bus, so I can assure you that such a feat is certainly within the realm of possibility for you...
Hello, David Jackson, I attempted to resize that animated GIF earlier, though I must admit the process proved somewhat elusive and ultimately unsuccessful. Is such an operation even technically feasible within this framework? Or perhaps you might possess a different perspective or a more effective methodology for achieving the desired result? 🙂
Alright, I shall certainly make some inquiries once I begin my search. However, if we ultimately settle on the idea of an ice cream cake, I simply cannot abide choosing a place where they haven't mastered the craft before... I feel quite strongly that if we go that route, they truly need to know what they are doing, otherwise the whole thing will just end up as a melted mess 🙂
restlessmoose18 said:northernhawk87 has ice cream cakes. And they are seriously delicious and hold up just fine, so don't you worry one bit. A few years back, one of my cousins was getting married, and they had this incredible ice cream cake covered in whipped cream. At midnight, they turned off all the lights, leaving nothing but the glowing candles, and then the servers brought it out and... they set it on FIRE!!! Oh man, what a spectacle! 🤣 Everyone else was just stunned! Honestly, even that little flame didn't melt it, so I'm sure everything else will be perfectly fine too...👍
As for my own cake... thank you, 🙂 though I think I might just leave the negotiations to an agency... I imagine there's someone over in Cleveland who can whip something up.
restlessmoose18😘, now you're just telling me you ordered this cake somewhere in Washington, D.C. 😍
But if not, ladies, does anyone know which local bakery makes these kinds of cakes????
I had actually entertained the idea of having two chocolate fountains set up alongside the dessert spread myself... though I am completely at a loss as to where one might even find such a thing here in the US, and I know for a fact that renting equipment in places like NYC can be incredibly pricey, so 👎 do you happen to know if there is anywhere to find them at a reasonable rate?
Regarding the cake, my plan was to head over to Whole Foods about six months in advance to look at some options and then perhaps order it from somewhere else locally... maybe three or four months out at the latest. I assume that should provide plenty of lead time, shouldn't it?
Oh, and on another note, has anyone ever heard of ice cream cakes? It sounds like such a fun concept to me, especially since we'll be in the middle of summer... my only concern is whether it can actually hold up without melting away entirely. Hopefully, it won't😬
