Jeremy Kelly6, this looks absolutely incredible!! I haven't even had the chance to check that area out yet... it’s just stunning!! Have you already coordinated the details? Where are you planning on having it made? You really need to find a top-tier craftsman 😍

A $3.25 doesn't exactly feel like a victory when I'm paying out less, 😕 does it?!

I honestly have no idea if the billing is calculated per individual or by group... We are expected to cover the costs for 300 people $933... If my memory serves me correctly, though... I suppose I should ask my dear one once more just to be absolutely certain

Zachary Gray35 said:Meli makes some seriously killer cakes and pastries. I’m telling you, I can't stop thinking about that strawberry cheesecake—it’s absolute perfection. Every single bite is a total knockout.
I heard M&M's are actually pretty solid (Lido carries their cookies), but honestly, they're way too pricey for Mel.
Horak tried a few of those cakes... they weren't half bad, though I can't say anything about the price.
I haven't heard anything about Grabar.

I picked up a similar cake from a local bakery downtown once and I was seriously impressed. I think northernhawk87 grabbed one from them too, so you might want to check them out.

That is precisely right; we ended up ordering ours from that same little boutique bakery as well, following the recommendation from Zachary Gray35😘
I haven't had the chance to sample their other offerings just yet, but based on what I have observed 😲 they do a great job !!! And truly, the proprietor is exceptionally kind, remarkably easygoing, and she takes the time to walk you through all the details so there is no confusion whatsoever...
Perhaps it would be most prudent for you to consult with a physician; perhaps they could perform a blood draw, which might offer some clarity on the situation. One wonders how much time has elapsed since your last encounter? Regardless, I suppose there is little else left for you to do now but wait with patience.

storm storm 😂

And if they can't even provide a decent slice of cake for you, why on earth would you bother going there in the first place?

Alex Moore28 said:Has anyone ever come across a cake or dessert called 'Japanese Wind'? I am trying to figure out if this is just some quirky creation from my local bakery or if it is an actual thing 😕 It tastes absolutely incredible, and I am considering using something similar for a multi-tiered wedding cake 👍 To me, the flavor profile is remarkably similar to a Kinder Maxi King 🙂

If there truly is a recipe out there, I would certainly love to get my hands on it myself.😍

I am quite familiar with things like Japanese cheesecake or those frozen treats you find at Dairy Queen... but this "Japanese Wind" thing? I haven't the slightest clue what that could be. It sounds like something they might have just dreamt up on the spot... do you really want to go chasing after it?🙂

restlessmoose18, it appears to be a margarine-based frosting 😉—not pure margarine, mind you, but the cream itself is heavily infused with it... which tends to make things incredibly, almost overwhelmingly, sweet. Have you actually had a chance to taste that frosting yet? If I were in your shoes, I might suggest a gentle word to whoever is doing the baking, perhaps advising them to scale back on the sugar so the whole thing remains somewhat palatable... otherwise, the cake is just going to be an absolute sugar bomb. 🙂

hmmm 🤔 I suppose I shall have to ask him directly... hopefully he was just being foolish at the time, because he did, quite clearly, say "my wife." 🤣

Sam Kim12, I have a feeling we might be looking at this from the wrong angle entirely... 😕 He provided us with a comprehensive list of local bakeries and catering options back then, yet he made a point to mention that "he" also offers homemade treats. Apparently, his wife handles all the baking 🤔 or some variation of that story. It was presented as something very much "his own" specialty. I didn't bother pressing him for more details, though, because honestly, we already have a wife who has been our go-to baker for every single family celebration for years now.

He didn't actually give me a call, but he did mention he had someone lined up for the cookies... though apparently, when he reached out to his dear friend, the response was simply, "We don't need any cookies, we already have a cake." 😁
Let me know once you manage to dig up more information 😉

I would personally opt for the fondant 🥳 It tends to be much cleaner and more polished looking—assuming they actually have the skill to pull it off, of course—and lacks that overwhelming sweetness. To be quite honest, I’ve never been a fan of buttercream; I just don't find those textures nearly as aesthetically pleasing as the look you get with a smooth finish. If I were forced to make a choice between buttercream and fondant, I think I would definitely lean toward the fondant instead.

Dennis Hill70, I suspect you are referring to that particular "unreliable" crowd... we have already discussed that subject at great length, if you would be so kind as to review our previous correspondence from a few pages back 😉

Linda Adams8 said:I'm thinking of things like chocolate fudge brownies, Raffaello coconut bites, rum balls, maybe some lemon bars—though people always argue over those--figaro wafers, various sliced dessert bars, those little biscuit-and-cream sandwich cookies, walnut crescents, or just endless combinations of shortbread and different colored frostings...🤣 , then there's the assorted deli-style sweets and cream puffs...
My mind's going blank now...🙂

all of that, plus some classic sugar cookies 🙂

I wouldn't go so far as to say the flowers will end up ruined; after all, the restaurant keeps the cake chilled, which actually creates a wonderful environment for preserving blooms, so I truly doubt anything unfortunate would occur 😉 As for the marzipan, you can simply toss it aside at the end, and perhaps someone might even be able to take the candles home if you were to provide little mini-bouquets or something similar. In any case, my vote is firmly for live flowers—they are just so much more beautiful 😉

We have decided to go with live flowers, keeping everything perfectly in line with the rest of the wedding decor, though if you ask me, I find them much more beautiful... there is just something about that fresh, vibrant quality they possess...

crimsoncrane12, might I suggest considering an order for an ice cream cake made specifically from varieties that you can actually enjoy?

analogmason15, I suppose it all hinges on which vendor you decide to go through... we actually placed our own order back in February to ensure everything arrives by August.
My wife mentioned that, under normal circumstances, one should probably aim to have things finalized about two or three months in advance.
rustyorca15🎉 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
