That’s exactly right, analogmason15... my mother used to apply one cream made with dark chocolate and then follow it up with one made from milk chocolate.. 🙂 I honestly recall nearly choking on them back in the day, which I suppose explains why I ended up with such a massive backside 😬
I have such a profound fondness for that specific style... I can still vividly recall my mother preparing those classic "cat's eye" treats back in the day; just thinking about that flavor profile brings it all back for me. As far as my own preferences go, I honestly think the entire thing could be presented in that exact manner. 😬
We went ahead and asked her what all the options were, and we even mentioned a few things we might want... she told us that since the cake is going to be quite large, the bottom two layers absolutely have to be sturdy enough to hold everything up... after that, honestly, anything goes. The very bottom layer will be a chocolate cake. Then there’s a walnut cake (I just know my folks from the Midwest are going to go wild for that one! 😉). After that, we're looking at a chocolate and banana combo—which was her suggestion, and I have to say, I am absolutely obsessed with that flavor profile! Then comes a Black Forest cake (that's the one my husband ordered) And finally, the very top will be some kind of fruit cake.
If I had my way, I’d just order a sample of something like that to test it out first.🙂
Honestly, everything you’re describing sounds absolutely mouthwatering to me 😬 And I have to admit, while we were busy hashing out all the details about the different layers, my mouth was already watering along with my partner's... 🤣 So, I really have my doubts that this will turn out to be anything less than spectacular. You 😉must try sending over a photo when you can.
Ashley Adams4, that sounds wonderful, please do let me know!! We actually ended up ordering a cake from them recently!! And once Easter rolls around, I think we'll head over there to pick up a few samples just to test the waters... though, to be honest, I trust every single word 😍 Zachary Gray35 says. Donna Gray33, thank you 😘. Just make sure to keep track of which day works best around Easter 🙂 .
Ashley Adams4, I haven't quite managed to break the news to my family yet—specifically the part where we're opting for fewer treats because there simply isn't any packaging for homemade goods 😁. I am quite certain my folks have some massive, stubborn ideas swirling around in their heads regarding this matter 😉. Where exactly is Emma located in that small town in the US? Is there a recognizable landmark or perhaps a well-known shop nearby that she could use to get her bearings? I find myself thinking that I really 🙂 must try those sweets for myself eventually.
Ahaaaa, well, I suppose that makes it 👍 just as seamless as ordering everything straight to your aunt’s house in Chicago 😬 And honestly, they really do appeal to me!!! I am quite certain they are superior to the standard versions, particularly because of those handles 😉 Jos, especially once you include your little "advertisement" 😍
I have to wonder, which country are these boxes actually shipping from? It’s a crucial detail to verify, because if they’re coming straight out of China, then I honestly wouldn't recommend ordering anything from there at all... I haven't the slightest idea what they look like in person, but assuming they match the aesthetic you're aiming for—and based on the style you described earlier, I think they would pair beautifully with your plans. Besides, the price point seems perfectly reasonable! My only advice is to be cautious about where you place the order. Perhaps you could grab a photo and take it over to a specialized boutique or an importer to get a second opinion?
Honestly, I don't think they're actually that pricey; in my estimation, they fall quite a bit below $3.25 per unit... I shall endeavor to track down where I previously encountered them... if memory serves, I believe that one local print shop—I can never recall the exact name of their DTP studio—might have them listed on their website...
Edit: Here is the link for that print shop... though I am certain a reputable partner like FedEx Office would certainly carry them as well. 😉
Susan Allen87 said:Just one question: how far in advance should I be worrying about ordering cakes and pastries? Will they deliver the desserts directly to the venue, or am I responsible for getting them there myself? Also, which specific treats are considered essential? I'm not entirely sure of all the names.
Well, Arthur Turner17, those local bakers who specialize in weddings generally already know which varieties are traditional for a reception... unless, of course, you have some very specific cravings of your own. In our neck of the woods, you'll typically see things like classic lemon bars🙂, perhaps some white chocolate cream pies, honey cakes, and those other standard crowd-pleasers... but they are truly delicious. 🙂
The baker I'm working with plans to bake everything herself, then carefully slice and arrange the treats on individual platters before delivering them straight to the hall. I assume most vendors operate under a similar arrangement...
As for the cake selection, I haven't quite reached a final decision yet... though I can say with certainty that there will be at least one Black Forest cake at our gathering 🙂 my dear husband absolutely adores them, so... perhaps alongside that, I might lean toward something fruit-based—maybe featuring those raspberries, you know, the light pink ones rather than the dark variety... paired with a delicate, airy cream, perhaps vanilla-infused, which sounds quite lovely to me... However, I am somewhat uncertain about the logistical possibilities, given that we are planning to stack one cake atop another, so we really ought to consult with the local bakery to see what they suggest... or, alternatively, an ice cream cake would be simply divine... truly, that would be the absolute dream of mine...
While they were performing the procedure during the initial exam, did they happen to check if your ovaries are "free" and not fused together? That’s standard practice—they usually just take a look while they're in there, and if everything looks clear, there shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't conceive.
Generally speaking, when you still have them, the chances of struggling with fertility are much lower...
That sounds like a wonderful idea; you should certainly continue to capture those images and essentially create your own little "advertisement" for your talents, because if you do, I am certain we will all be lining up to support you. 😬
Jacob Young3, are you actually serious right now? 😘 Honestly, let’s just take this conversation to private messages to settle it properly 😉 . Joshua Clark, I have to admit, that film isn't really my cup of tea... though, if you happen to have a still or a photo from it, would you mind sharing?
Jesse Ross11, I must say, I find myself much more drawn to this pricing structure than what you might find over at a place like Everything Everywhere All At Once 👍 . Besides, I think I shall simply take matters into my own hands and handle things myself.
Jacob Young3, well, aren't you lucky to have achieved that $0.33!!! 👍
That reliable partner of yours is located somewhere near Santa Monica, isn't he? I suppose I should go take a look around there and over in Queens as well... though, if I am being perfectly honest, I suspect it might actually be more prudent for me to just handle this myself... 🙂 thx..
It seems to me... I am not entirely certain how much I will require... though I am quite sure it will be around 200, if not perhaps even more 😢is there any way to find this at a lower price point?
