Why can't accounts be deactivated here like they are on every other standard forum across the globe?

It seems like personal data privacy just isn't a priority around here.

Saying "don't log in" is a ridiculous response... you should simply honor a user's request if they want out.
What difference does it make if a few people decide to leave this site entirely?

If you want to keep a treasure like that in the family, your best bet is to find an identical one and pass it down to your grandson one day. It won't be your grandmother's specific piece, but it will be exactly the same thing. 🤷
Since there are so many of them out there, finding a replacement shouldn't be a problem at all.
Once something hits the trash, everything behind that bin goes straight into a garbage truck that crushes and compacts it all; there is absolutely no way to get back what was thrown away.
I'd suggest looking a bit more thoroughly around the house. I really don't believe something that size was just tossed out, especially since it doesn't look like junk or even a toy.

The whole point of the link was simply to demonstrate how one can use the forum's search function to locate specific user posts.

You used masculine pronouns in your previous post, so when I clarified that I am female, you immediately started lecturing me.
I asked direct questions, and instead of helping, you just threw a link at me that I now have to struggle to open. I was honestly hoping someone would just explain the process in plain English.
