The plot is actually great, but man, the execution is just tedious and exhausting to sit through. 👎
The Pasteurization Debate in Health ·
I’ve got a pet rabbit that just tested positive for this disease, and honestly, I’m freaking out a bit. Does anyone here actually know what the symptoms look like in people? (Since I know this stuff can jump from animals to humans)

Linda Gonzalez16 said:The thing is, since we're talking about American movies, a lot of cars don't even have a traditional handbrake anymore. Most of them are automatics, so just throwing it into Park is plenty when you're trying to stay put on a steep hill.🙂 .

See, THAT is what an actual explanation looks like! Thanks!
(And I'm talking about providing info, not that snarky attitude at the start of the thread) 🙄

I’d probably throw a few more tropes into the mix...

-every single performance or concert lasts like 2 minutes—just enough time to gossip with your date in the background...
-animals are always there at the exact right moment to save the day, even if they spent the whole movie hiding under the couch
-all the teenagers are somehow gorgeous and look like they're 25?!?!
-kids always look way older than they are (like, a 3-year-old playing a 7-year-old)
-the best strategy during a total crisis is just to scream and stay perfectly still
-during a chase, you always run UP the stairs!!!! 😲 or into dead ends where you eventually just stop and wait for the killer to find you
-parents never have time for their kids until the very end of the movie, when suddenly all their life obligations just magically align... out of nowhere!
-that weirdly bright lighting in rooms that clearly have zero light sources...
-how in horror movies everyone hears a tiny rustle and immediately grabs a knife, even if they were living totally normal lives five seconds ago...
-you always try the wrong keys first, and right as the thing chasing you manages to jam a limb through the door, you finally get it open just enough to shove them back out and slam it shut
-breakfast usually takes about one minute, or however long the dialogue lasts
-English is basically the universal language—doesn't matter where you're from, everyone speaks it like it's their native tongue and there's never any communication issues!
-it's totally normal to dance in the middle of the street or scream your head off and nobody even blinks...

If I think of anything else....
Anyway, I was using a little help from Cheerleader to jog my memory, so if you notice any similarities... tell her I'm still bitter about our rights... 😢

Honestly, this reminds me of those ridiculous commercials where the mom has a ten-year-old kid, but she looks like she’s barely twenty herself.
It's just creepy...🤣

Rachel Hall29 said:Clearly, you haven't even passed your driver's test yet...

Oh, I have, believe me. But please—enlighten me! Because if my brakes fail on the highway, my first (and maybe only?) instinct would be to slowly pull the emergency brake.

Heh. Typical textbook answer from a cheerleader. This is exactly what I’m talking about... acting like we're all just some group of naive idiots 🙂
What have we learned from movies? in Movies ·
Are filmmakers actually this brainless, or do they just think we’re all idiots?!
In at least 70% of movies, nobody bothers to lock their front door when they leave the house. But my absolute favorite trope has to be when the brakes fail, and suddenly, nobody thinks to pull the emergency brake.
(Is there some secret trick to using a handbrake while you're speeding down a highway that I missed?!) 😕
Lawrence Booth2 said:Of course it messes with me... I’ve been late sending faxes because of it, and I constantly have to duck out for breaks at work
how am I supposed to justify missing stuff?
I'll show up to a lecture before the professor even arrives, only to have to bolt for the restroom immediately.
Just a simple night out becomes an absolute nightmare if I haven't watched my diet that day.
It used to happen all the time—one minute I see a girl I'm interested in😬 and the next, I'm sprinting for the bathroom.
It's gross.
But since I started watching what I eat, things have actually improved.🙏

Personally, I never dealt with this before, though I definitely inherited a sensitive stomach from my dad. Over the last few months, things have really taken a turn for the worse and it's been driving me crazy. I honestly thought I might be allergic to dairy or something, so I started keeping a food diary.

BTW, I think we already crossed paths on that "fast digestion" thread😉 but honestly, you can never have enough advice or conversation about this. 🙂 (At least not for me)
Lawrence Booth2 said:Two days before a trip, I can't even think about popcorn, peanuts, or anything like that. No soups, nothing liquid or cooked, no milk, no yogurt... just lots of heavy chewing.👎

But seriously, does this actually mess with your day-to-day life? (Sorry to bug you, just asking because I'm dealing with the exact same thing)

Ford said:Is there any actual medication for people like us?

I'm wondering the same damn thing.😕
Lawrence Booth2 said:I get so anxious before traveling because I end up running to the bathroom constantly😢 and then the anxiety just makes me go even more frequently.😁

Man, I deal with the exact same thing.😢
How on earth do you manage it?😕
Dana Cruz3 said:I went to the pharmacy—they gave me some Dramamine for motion sickness. I feel a little better now, but the anxiety is still there...

😲 Look, Dramamine is just for nausea from being in a car or a boat, blah blah blah. It has absolutely nothing to do with your mental state. No wonder you aren't feeling any better.
I deal with the exact same thing. For me, taking Perserine or Inia is a temporary lifeline, but honestly? We really need to get our heads right and fix our actual psyche. 😢 😢
frozenfox13 said:Before we even start debating this movie, please go watch at least...

Look, I am with you one hundred percent on this, but there is absolutely zero chance of finding those old classics anywhere. Seriously, if you happen to know where they're hiding, please, for the love of God, share the info!
Maybe some random local news station might show it, or if the folks over at ABC News decide to actually respect the craft and air something decent for once. (And even if some miracle happens and they do, they’ll probably broadcast it at 10 in the morning 😠 though, thank goodness there's YouTube)
Madame Hooch said:So, they're showing "The Godfather" on ABC today.
I've actually never sat down to watch it...

Look, I've had all three movies sitting on my hard drive for a year and a half now, and I still haven't watched them. I just can't bring myself to do it. I just can't find the motivation...😢

Every 18 days?! 😲 Thank god it’s just some guy on a screen and not a real person. I assume people like that don't actually exist in the wild.

granitecrane, thanks for the advice. Honestly, I can't even tell anymore if this is just a quick bout of food poisoning or if my gut is just completely shot from all this stress. I've been digging around online, but I haven't found anything solid on this. If you happen to have a link, I'd really appreciate it. 😉

granitecrane, thanks for such a detailed breakdown 🙏
Look, I’m… I’m a little thrown by all this. I’ve always had a fast metabolism and quick digestion, and I’ve never dealt with any mental health issues before. Granted, I’ve been a total wreck of nerves these last two months—finishing up my degree, prepping to start my first real job... so yeah, it’s definitely linked now, unfortunately.😢 But back then? There was absolutely no connection to stress.

So you’re telling me this is incurable. 😲 😲 😲
Are you serious? Am I really going to be stuck dealing with this for the rest of my life?! I can’t even wrap my head around that thought...🙂

Mental health???? Good grief...😲

😕 😕 😕

Walter Garcia53 said:Good grief, what are you, Madonna?!?!?
I used to know exactly when my stomach would start acting up every single day. It wasn't even like a full-on emergency, just a little nudge saying, "Hey, you might want to find a restroom soon."
But now? Now I eat anything in sight, and then—boom—I’m paying the price later!

1. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 You definitely have a unique way of putting things, I'll give you that.😉

2. And who is this Madonna person anyway? Was she dealing with some kind of digestive issues? 😕

3. Since you brought up the whole "emergency" thing—that's actually my biggest pet peeve. I can't stand that feeling. If I had my way, I'd just skip the struggle entirely right when I need to go seven times in a row. I know some people can hold it for hours. How is that even possible?! 😕 (Ugh, I'm so jealous)

granitecrane said:I’m dealing with the exact same thing. It honestly wrecks my life. I can't stand taking the bus or the subway, and don't even get me started on becoming an astronaut—that's out of the question. Even though it's tied to my nerves, which makes things even harder, I usually end up getting stuck in a mess whenever I'm forced to be out in public.

Same here. It’s actually starting to take a serious toll on me. 😠
Why isn't anyone in the medical community actually talking about this? Seriously...

why did a trip through some rural parts of the Midwest once make me feel like I was stuck in China or Russia
😁😁😁
why do you think that is?

It's the exact same issue.😢
(And I'm not talking about the Midwest... haha)

Jeremy Ross43 said:I'm literally shitting five times a day whenever I get stressed

Ugh, being nervous doesn't even count as an excuse here...😉

Question for those of you with high metabolisms—is your stool softer too, or what?
For me, it fluctuates, but most of the time it's pretty soft. Just wondering if anyone else deals with this kind of stuff.

Why won't a medical professional just weigh in on fast metabolism? Maybe some actual info would be useful for us (if it even exists).
