Oh, honey,😘 🙂
she’s just an old lady who's probably bitter because she isn't you😉
but you? You're young, beautiful, and growing a human🙂
I just got back from the farmer's market and I am so incredibly annoyed I might actually start laughing.
Basically, I went out to grab a head of basic lettuce—just some standard endive, nothing fancy, definitely not any of those overpriced organic boutique brands that cost a small fortune.
The second I step onto the market grounds, this lady about twenty feet away starts shrieking at me: "Honeyyyyy! Sweetieeee! How can I help you, sugar pie!!!!"
Why do they feel the need to baby me? 🤷 Like, I’m not your honey or your sweetheart or your gold, and you aren't my mom or my grandma or my aunt, so why do you love me so much 😍? 🤷
I was already irritated by the noise, but fine, since she’s making such a huge production out of it, I walk over and pick out a simple head of endive. I ask how much it is. $8.25/lb. I nearly pass out right there, but whatever, I'll just take one head. The old lady weighs it and drops a price on me that is $2.25, obviously just shouting it out, but I figure: I don't want to start a fight and I've already got my cash out, plus I really need to eat something healthy,
But then she begins her epic saga titled: The Holy Grail of Salads: It's so fresh, it's healthy, it's young, it was just picked...
My blood pressure is hitting the ceiling; I'm not an idiot, I can see through this stuff!!! 😲
I can clearly see the lettuce is already wilting, that it was probably picked last Saturday, and that she's just been trimming off the brown edges with a knife every single day...
Yet she keeps going: It's perfect for your little ones, it's fine, it's healthy, it's fresh...
She shoves it in the bag and I walk home with my "holy" salad which, no, it wasn't imported from Italy, it wasn't grown via GMO tech somewhere near the highway to New York City, but it was "picked from fresh, dew-covered pastures, probably grew wild and is rarer than a unicorn. Honestly, the salad in my bag is practically an endangered species." ☕

I am seriously losing my mind.

Time to go make a salad.
Add to the to-do list: Avoid the farmer's market until I have kids, because I'm apparently going to start getting bullied by freezing grandmas at 3 p.m., and that's just not cool.
Eric Fowler3 said:I just tell him exactly what Bandera wrote above... about the little things and the constant bickering... then I just retreat to my own corner and cry because my hormones are driving me crazy right now...
Mine hasn't changed at all since I got pregnant, though I really expected a bit more empathy...
Some days he’s been so rude, telling me that I'm the one who chose him in the first place... well, I did, but that doesn't mean I have to just "deal" with everything... and then the sarcasm about doing the dishes... "I WASHED THEM FOR YOU"... for me? We live together, don't we? And he eats off the same plates... seriously... instead of getting some rest near the end of the pregnancy, my nerves are just shot every single day

The way you're describing him makes it sound like he read some "macho man" garbage about pregnancy and now he's trying to sell all that nonsense back to you. I feel like I've heard those exact same tired lines somewhere before...
Tell him to pick up a book written by someone with an actual brain.

My husband wants to "help" and clean up, but then it's always on me to go behind him and fix it.
It drives me crazy when he sweeps the floor—he won't even pull the broom and rag from the corner toward himself to actually collect the dust; he just swishes it back and forth and ends up shoving everything into the corners, under the bed, or against the baseboards.

My husband actually had to help me take my purse off my shoulder and get my wallet out because I have zero sensation in my hands.
I keep waking up in the middle of the night because my fingers are tingling; even right now, my right hand is completely numb.😢

Does anyone know where I can find some birch tea?

Maybe at a health food store? Or CVS? 🤷
Bryan Diaz said:Honestly, that really gets under my skin too—the implication that you can somehow "stock up" on sleep beforehand. It’s just not how it works.

That's just not true, though. I've mentioned this on the forums before; my sister actually ended up missing out on those tiny little outfits because she listened to everyone else. She simply couldn't keep up with the laundry and drying. It might be true that babies don't wear certain sizes for very long, but you still need plenty of pieces because of constant changes and washing. And you certainly don't get those newborn-sized items handed to you during the initial visit period.

So I'm walking out of the grocery store and run into this girl from my high school days. Haven't seen her in what, like 14 years? 😲
Basically, she looks me dead in the stomach and the first thing out of her mouth is: "Aaaah, better get all that sleep in while you still can."
No "how are you," no nothing. Just that.
I was like, fine, I'll just head home, pass out for like two and a half months, and then I'll be totally caught up on sleep until my kid turns 18. ☕
The way they package those 62.5 gram Deep Space Nine bars really gets under my skin.
The packaging is such a joke.
I mean, obviously I’m just going to crush three of them in one sitting. ☕

And before you ask, no, there wasn't some massive family-sized pack available!
My hair is thinning out like crazy, and I’m only 18 weeks into this
Ugh, I finally have to tell you guys this story. Someone actually asked if I wanted their seat on the subway for once.
And we’re talking about the hottest guy on the entire train, too. 😍
I was honestly so conflicted; first off, because nobody ever asks me that, and second, because he was such a total smoke show. 😍
I only had two stops left, so I played it cool and politely declined. In my head, I was just like: "Keep the seat, honey, I much prefer the view from over here" (cue the hormones, cough, cough...).
Then I spent the rest of the ride basically staring at him like a complete idiot until he eventually got off at the next stop. He probably thought I was a total creep. 🤣

Kisses, cuties!
all they did was go oral and dig😂
it’s like, one after another, they all gave birth under some bush or just crouched down right there in the front row and kept digging🤷
loneridge94 said:rustybison19, I see you're about 12 weeks along. Honestly, it feels like you're still stuck in that awkward phase where people just stare at you, trying to figure out if it's actually a baby bump or if you just had a really heavy lunch at Cheesecake Factory. 😉I mean, it’s not like anyone would even realize you're pregnant if they weren't looking for it.
Now that I’ve been through this both with and without being pregnant, I catch myself wondering how many young women were actually expecting while standing next to me—women I probably wouldn't have even offered a seat to because, frankly, I just didn't get the hint during those early months.

In my case, nobody even thought to offer me a seat until I was about seven months along. My bump wasn't exactly obvious at first, especially since I was layering up with heavy winter coats or just wearing baggy dresses. Nowadays, people are pretty consistent about asking if I want to sit down. But the truth is, I actually needed a seat way more during the first trimester because of the constant nausea and that total lack of energy. I eventually learned to just be upfront and say, "Excuse me, I’m feeling a bit unwell, would it be alright if I sat down?" I realized I can't exactly expect every random passenger on a flight to look at me and immediately know what's going on.

Actually, these days I don't even want to sit down that much, mostly because getting back up becomes such a massive chore. 🙂

I get it. Most of the time I just assume they're being polite old ladies who don't want to offend me by thinking, "maybe she's just gaining weight..."
But I already mentioned this—I've always had curves, and now that they've combined with the bump, I definitely look much further along than I am. Plus, yesterday I was literally wearing a maternity shirt with a baby print on it, holding medical results, and clutching my prenatal folder because I'd just come from an appointment and wanted to read the doctor's notes.
So, there was zero chance of confusion yesterday. It was just some bitter old ladies who, let's be real, have nothing better to do than wander around looking for trouble in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon.
Women are honestly their own worst enemies.
So, I’m on the bus yesterday, right? Every single old lady in the place turns her head away from me just so they don't have to feel obligated to get up.
Then, finally, I manage to snag a seat. But before I can even breathe, this one grandma with a cane comes barreling over and plants herself right next to me.
I didn't even stand up. I was just sitting there, waiting for someone to start complaining so I could drop the bomb: "I'm pregnant! So what's your excuse for lying about being tired and hogging the seat?" Honestly, I was lowkey ready for a fight. 😍
hollowmarlin49...man, that sounds brutal. If it were me, I'd shove her in a Walmart freezer next to the deli meats and let her deal with the consequences.

edit: it is driving me insane—I am literally hitting my phone every 15 minutes during the day and at least four times a night.
Is this even normal?
So I’ve had blood drawn three times at three different clinics in just two days.
And honestly, I absolutely loathe getting blood taken from a vein.
I even reached out to my poor dad to let him know I was heading back out for round three—which was news to him since he had no idea I’d need another draw—and he just gives me this totally cold, "Oh, you're going to get blood drawn..." response. Like, thanks for the empathy, man. It’s like he’s acting like it's my first time today, not the third. 😲
He’s over there acting like *he's* the one suffering. Men really are from another planet. 🙄
Kenneth Grant21 said:It’s honestly such a headache when people refuse to let a pregnant woman go first, or won't even offer her a seat... but just imagine how much more infuriating it is when you're dealing with a mother who's already exhausted from an injury, all while trying to wrangle a two-year-old toddler along with her. And then, to top it all off, you have everyone else huffing and rolling their eyes because the cashier, the security guard, or some clerk at the DMV decides I actually get priority!

absolute nightmare 😲
I honestly can't believe this...
but hey, next time someone's spinning me around in circles in an elevator? I don't give a damn.
Stuck on the subway right now. I’m only 10 weeks along, so you can barely see anything under my coat, but I’ve always had a bit of a gut—I’m thin everywhere else, so now the baby bump and my natural curves have just merged into one big "five-month pregnant" situation, for sure. 😁
First trimester, man. I don't even want to get into how nauseous and exhausted I am, or how everything smells like garbage to me lately. And yet, not a single soul offered me a seat, not even an inch. It's like nobody even thought for a second that I might actually be pregnant.
It honestly just bugs me. It gets under my skin. Ever since I started taking the subway back in high school, I’ve been the type to jump up for every grandma, old guy, or mom struggling with kids I see. I do it for everyone. But now that I actually need it? Nothing. Not a single move from anyone... what a bunch of jerks. It really set me off yesterday.

Then the thought hits me—maybe they just think I'm gaining weight, and they're too polite to offer a seat to a "pregnant lady" so I won't feel insulted. 🤷 🤣

So yeah...☕

As for advice...
From the moment I wake up, it's just a cycle: first morning sickness, then the elevator, then work, and finally I call my friend, only for her first response to be: "Hey, maybe don't paint your nails right now, you shouldn't..."
It was basically just a "talk to you later" kind of vibe for the next seven months... boo-hoo, life's great.

Proposed bill on IVF regulations in Women's Health ·
Look, I’m Catholic too, and I honestly don't get this whole obsession with mixing religion into everything... like, is everyone in America just Catholic or what?
Do Orthodox Christians, Muslims, atheists, and everyone else just lose their right to IVF because God supposedly "forbade" it for us?
Seriously, people are losing it.
