Unforgettable movie torture scenes in Movies ·
Irreversible LOL - the anal rape scene🤮

Man, that was just straight-up brutal. Between the music nearly driving me insane and those aggressive lights...
the whole movie is basically just pure torture.

I mean, isn't that exactly what Tomislav gotovac was getting at in PEEPING TOM... or am I totally off base here?

🤷 maybe

I'm not entirely sure what draws me in. I guess it's because they have this ability to stir up a massive wave of emotion inside me—the same way a great song or a really gripping book can hit you.

For those with a truly resilient heart, even the most overwhelming passions can be mastered;
they won't be allowed to consume them from within like some bitter, wasting disease.
Those with weaker hearts tend to get swept away by poetry—writing verses and reciting rhymes just to cope...
But the heart remains our only true sanctuary.
Without it, we wouldn't even exist.

So, what kind of solace do people look for in religion?🙂

By the way, I’ve got a pretty weak heart—I tend to get lost in poetry myself. 😳

Basically, the heart is the center (of a person).

That’s actually pretty interesting 🙂

For me, though, "heart" just feels like a synonym for love.
How do you express pain? in Psychology ·
For me, it usually breaks down into three distinct stages:

So, when I’m in serious pain, 😢 my first instinct is to lash out. I get cold, sarcastic, incredibly cynical, and honestly just plain rude. Once that wears off, I move on to the next phase: retreating to my room to cry while blasting some melancholy tunes 🙄. Then, as the grand finale, I try to coach myself through it and wait for the storm to pass. While I'm waiting, I try to find something productive to distract myself—usually something active like running, yoga, a long walk, or hitting a martial arts class. 🙂

As for minor aches? I don't even make a big deal out of them. It’s more like I’m just temporarily watching my life from the sidelines for a few hours. People around me don't even notice because I don't give it any weight myself.
Hands down, my absolute favorite actor in all of Europe is Jean Reno. I just absolutely love him! 😍
As for actresses, I’d say Julie Delpy is pretty great—there's just something about her, I don't know, she's got this undeniable charisma. 🙂

Susan Torres7 said:I’ve heard nothing but praise for this movie, but the comments are actually pretty unsettling since everyone seems totally shaken up after watching it. I’m wondering—is it really that terrifying?

I absolutely live for thrillers and horror, but if people are telling the truth about how intense this is, I don't know if it's a smart move for me. My imagination tends to run wild whenever I find myself alone in the dark.🙂

Oh, come on, it’s not so traumatizing that you'll be having literal panic attacks once the credits roll—it's not like when I watched IT and ended up being suspicious of every clown in town for a while. 😬
The thing is, this movie is freaking terrifying WHILE you're actually watching it. 👍
"Duka Begovic".
The novel is incredible—it actually hit me pretty hard emotionally 😬. That said, I thought the movie was just as good, if not better in some ways, because it really brought certain parts of the book to life. Take the scenes with the drinking and that soulful Gypsy music, for instance. While reading the book, I could only kind of imagine what that sounded like, but seeing it on screen? It was a total trip—pure ecstasy.

Madame Bovary—I actually loved the film even more than the book. 👍
Our "higher" self... in Psychology ·
Patrick Sullivan3 said:Here’s a little glimpse into what I’ve been processing, hoping to connect with anyone who might have walked a similar path:

I’m in a relationship that just can't seem to find its footing. When we're together, I feel this constant sense of unrest—this underlying anxiety where I’m afraid to truly open up, feeling nervous or even pulling away right when I need him most. I constantly worry that I’m being too much for him, even though he’s never actually said so 😉. There’s this strange sense of relief whenever we finally part ways until the next time we meet. Right now, we’re apart again. He’s acting cold, and while it hurts because I love him, I honestly feel an incredible sense of peace. I can finally breathe. Why is it that I feel such relief while the person I love is completely falling apart? Without the pressure of being with him, I feel like my old self again—interesting, engaging, and at ease. Is this just our subconscious trying to protect us, nudging us toward a different, more authentic path? Is my higher self gently telling me that this person needs to leave my heart and mind for good because they aren't meant to stay? Thanks for listening!

Is anyone else here going through something similar? 🙂

It isn't about destiny. It sounds more like you aren't ready for a serious commitment yet. You might just need to pour that energy back into yourself—focusing on your own growth, discovering new interests, and finding who you are outside of a partner. Maybe deep down, you feel like being in a relationship means losing yourself. 🙂
Sexiest video spot ever ??!!?? in Music ·
I’m not sure if this has already come up (probably has), but for me, the sexiest music video ever has to be Duran Duran's "Girls on Film" 🙂

And honestly, "Gay Bar" by Electric Six isn't exactly bad either, right? ☕

What’s the deal with that whole blood type theory? Apparently, if you have Type O blood, you’re basically hardwired to be a meat eater 😬
And look, I’m not using that as an excuse for my diet. My only real justification is that my stomach starts staging a protest whenever I try to deny it some crispy baby back ribs 😈

Aerosmith's "Crazy"
-That music video is easily the sexiest thing I've ever seen
-Liv Tyler looks absolutely stunning and totally hot in it 😍

Rachel Martinez11 said:It was probably just a misunderstanding. All I meant was that society plays a massive role in shaping how any individual thinks and feels. And those influences aren't always the healthiest—take smoking, for example. I don't smoke, but that doesn't mean I've somehow evolved or that I'm morally superior to a smoker, or a Canadian, or even someone who eats meat. Personally, I prefer women over men, but that’s no reason for a gay man to feel insulted or like I'm forcing my views on him; he could easily be a hundred times better than I am.

Rachel Martinez11, reading this feels like I wrote it myself 🙂
it's honestly a bit frustrating feeling like I belong to a society that I find myself mocking on a daily basis. Sometimes, it feels like I'm mocking myself...😎 what gets to me is how much people fear thinking for THEMSELVES 😠 and how terrified they are that their own unique perspective will get them labeled as an outcast. They're scared of being isolated, left to fend for themselves, where every conversation about someone just being authentic turns into, "Oh, you know how they are, they're just weird," or "Just let them be, they'll grow out of it eventually." Sometimes, the society I'm part of feels like a herd being raised just to feed itself. It almost feels like society has a tendency toward cannibalism...😠 sometimes...

Dennis Nguyen78 said:I really admire how Native Americans approach nature and everything we find within it... if they have to hunt an animal, they do it with genuine respect, offering thanks for providing them with sustenance... I mean, the idea that one living thing eats another isn't foreign to me, but man, raising it, feeding it, watching it grow just to slaughter it for a single meal? That feels brutal to me...

That’s exactly what I was thinking. 👍
I love meat, and honestly, I think it would be wonderful if I could hunt the animal myself in a way that shows true respect for its life, rather than... well, you know... I eat beef and all I can picture are cows cramped up in a pen where they can't even turn around. It's just awful; it doesn't feel right. They're all living beings. 🙂
For example, whenever I go out to my garden or orchard, before I pick an apple or snip a head of lettuce, I touch the produce first. After holding it in my hand for a few seconds, I pick it—just as a sign of respect for its existence. I don't know... I just feel like we need to establish a real connection with our food. 👍

Rachel Martinez11 said:I have to admit, I went through the exact same thing when I first tried cutting meat out of my diet (about 6 or 7 years ago). Even if I was totally full, just catching a whiff of a roast would trigger this massive craving for meat. I’d even deal with these bouts of physical weakness. On my second attempt, I added two staples back in: seitan and mushroom and corn pizza. Sure, there are endless veggie recipes out there, but those are my personal go-tos, and they completely killed my meat cravings and that shaky feeling. I'm about 205 lbs at 5'10" (not overweight by any means). I don't feel any smarter or dumber since ditching meat, but I definitely enjoy my food more and generally feel better overall.

Yeah, I tried that too. To be honest, it still weighs on me whenever I eat meat because I can't stop thinking about the creature I'm consuming...🙄
But look... you know, in principle, I'm not against carnivory, but the whole system and way we eat just doesn't sit right with me. Like... it would be okay if we were actually hunting an animal, but not in a way where we just slaughter them and devour them. Maybe in a more subtle way... establishing a relationship where the animal essentially surrenders to the hunter? Hmm, I don't know if you get what I mean—honestly, I'm not even sure I know what I'm trying to say myself (even beer isn't exactly a "food product" in the way I used to think it was...😬).
It really would be amazing if animals weren't raised just to be killed. Actually, it would be great if they weren't raised at all. I have a cat and a dog, and every single day when I feed them, I think about how much they're being deprived compared to how their species lives out in the wild. Being pets just isn't natural for animals, not one bit. 😠

Vegetarians are great 👍, but what about those of us who give up meat only to suffer when we catch a whiff of something delicious roasting on the grill? 😬 Who’s going to sympathize with us? 🤣
