Unfortunately, your regular physician likely won't be able to perform those specific procedures, so you will probably find yourself heading back to that same medical center regardless. I would highly recommend switching your care over to Dr. Miller. Not only is he incredibly "painless" in his approach, but he is also quite charming—at least in my experience...🙂

I actually underwent both procedures this past Monday—the same day you did, though under a different physician—and I must say, I experienced remarkably little pain. My doctor informed me that he had inserted a tampon and instructed me to remove it after six hours.
However, when I finally attempted to remove it, I was utterly mortified by what I discovered. It wasn't a mere tampon at all, but rather what felt like a continuous roll of gauze stretching out for miles; quite honestly, I have no idea how he managed to fit such a thing inside me.

Which doctor were you seeing yesterday? I actually had a colposcopy about two or three weeks ago and, believe it or not, it was completely painless for me—also over at the Mayo Clinic. In fact, I was right there yesterday for a biopsy too. While the physical pain wasn't an issue at all, the psychological aftermath left me feeling absolutely frazzled.
Both procedures were performed by Dr. Goran Vujic, who seems perfectly fine, though I would suggest asking him to explain things a bit more clearly so you aren't left guessing.
