Is this supposed to be some kind of remake of this movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0347330/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 ... or did they just "accidentally" cast someone with a similar face? Jokes aside, this French take on the material is honestly much better than anything overly polished from Guy Ritchie...

Along those same lines, I can't help but think of "The Last Seduction" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110308/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 and "Romeo Is Bleeding" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107983/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0...

I’ll jump in on the praise here—it’s a genuine family flick. My daughter (she's 8) absolutely loved it, and honestly, I found myself enjoying it right along with her. P.S. I'm talking about the 3D dubbed version; we had the choice between that or the subtitled 2D release...

It’s such a shame that nowadays you rarely run into a movie with this kind of atmosphere that isn't just straight-up low-budget trash. : /

Honestly, when it comes to that specific vibe—you know, those dark, eerie woods filled with all that "Gothic" skeletal tree imagery that just feels haunting—the only thing I’ve ever seen that really hits close to home is Neil Jordan's "Company of Wolves." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087075/?ref_=nv_sr_1 It’s an incredibly sharp film, though it was criminally underrated back when it first hit theaters!
