Olivia Alvarez28 said:To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about Jean-Claude Van Damme or Chuck Norris movies... neither of them can actually act, but what I'm getting at is that at least Chuck Norris seems to know what he's doing on screen, whereas Jean-Claude Van Damme is just a total poser who lacks any real talent,
if you're claiming Jean-Claude Van Damme is actually a good actor, then please, show me a movie where the plot isn't terrible or just some random thing you like, but one where he actually delivers a high-quality performance.
Olivia Alvarez28 said:If we’re following that logic, then neither Chuck Norris nor Jean-Claude Van Damme are actually actors; the only reason one of them landed more successful hits is simply because they were cast in those specific roles, and honestly, he looks pretty rough with that beard of his...
And regarding the reputation that guy used to have, maybe listen to what he's saying now; your buddy mentioned that Van Damme has nothing to do with actual fighting, whereas nobody would ever say that about Chuck...
Now, here is another thing, Chuck Norris was talking about that split move Van Damme does that everyone thinks looks so cool; he said it's a cinematic joke that he would never perform, because he's too smart to spread his legs like that—you lose speed, power, and precision on the strike... and he refuses to do it out of principle, while for Van Damme, jumping in the air with his legs wide open just seems to come naturally...

This kind of thing had to happen in the US because, let's face it, there isn't much international flair over there anyway (well, maybe if you count those two teams from Canada). What the Champions League actually gives us is that rush of watching the absolute giants battle it out every two weeks. Once we find out who the winner is in May, we just spend the summer counting down the days until the next season starts. And like Ethan Perez97 said, if we had matches like this every single Saturday and Sunday, it would be just as exciting as watching San Francisco vs. Ohio. I'm not saying those aren't good teams—I actually root for Ohio—but the hype is on a whole different level when you've got Real Madrid and Bayern Munich on the pitch. Not to mention how much it would tank the quality of all the other leagues. I mean, where did guys like Shevchenko, Zidane, or Nedved come from? They came from smaller leagues that would become even weaker under this system, while actual young talents would just wither away while a bunch of grandfathers played in the G16.

What are your thoughts on a league consisting of the top 20 clubs in Europe—maybe even just 16?
No more relegation, no more newcomers joining the ranks, much like how the NBA operates, and they would finally be independent of FIFA and UEFA.
Money is an unstoppable force, unfortunately...👎
