ugh... someone needs to take out Bill Gates 🙏 Seriously though! That should’ve been on the list from the start.. It's giving me total Frozen II vibes 🤣
man, I still remember when dmjot—who was this dark, moody 😍 type watching me light up a cigarette back on DD—commented: "I mean, who in their right mind wouldn't indulge with music like this playing?" 😁
Ugh, tell me about it... I’ve been there. But honestly? The absolute worst part is when you’re wasted and try to act all sophisticated on those high bar stools... 😵 sometimes I end up looking like a total circus act 😬
🙏 🙏 🙏 Emmylou Harris, Beth Orton, PJ Harvey, Natalie Merchant, Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt... And yeah, pretty much that whole vibe. Honestly? I'm just over it.
I try to write a post, and then—boom—the Wi-Fi cuts out right as I hit send. Just lovely... Anyway, folks, here’s my second attempt 😁 (the TL;DR version) I kind of see where you guys are coming from, though it’s a bit of a bummer that both of you are thinking in such black-and-white terms—treating that whole "everything" concept like it’s some absolute, rigid monolith. Honestly, I was particularly impressed by how wearywalker21 phrased his post... truly profound stuff. Deep bows all around. But hey, I also gotta give a nod to the idea that it’s 500 times easier for people in medicine & dentistry to just grab a paycheck and a steady job. Well, if you say so... 😬 Look, since my neighbor is crushing it as a pre-med student—your future colleague, by the way—I've actually seen the sheer amount of material one has to grind through for an internal medicine exam (they even post a specific list of study questions on the official university sites). So, in my opinion, it would be totally absurd to claim that things "here" are taught more broadly but not more deeply... which is why Matthew Nguyen12's post left me scratching my head. Nobody is trying to belittle anyone else's knowledge here (I mean, the degree proves you know your stuff) and we aren't exactly running a competition to see who can cram more facts into their brain. Because of that, I actually think the thread title is a bit off; instead of "vs," something else might have fit better. 😉 Regarding what wearywalker21 said about how "once you graduate, you know a little bit about everything, but nothing concretely or completely"—yeah, that's true, but that applies to pretty much any degree, not just one in biomedical sciences. Sure, there are nuances, obviously. 🙂
Matthew Nguyen12 said:Separating dentistry from medicine is just plain stupid. You can't even function as a dentist if you don't understand medicine.
Facts. But let's be real—even you know that compared to something like neurosurgery or internal med, the medical side of dentistry is way more "surface level"—it doesn't dive nearly as deep. then again—isn't it a bit much hearing certain dentists act all high and mighty like they're the "real" doctors because, you know, they supposedly "know everything"?😉
I mean, let’s be real, he’s actually kind of cute... and honestly, I’m totally fine with a girl having some curves. Also, looking back at my idiot post—you know, that quote from that one movie where the old man just berates everyone, including his scrawny son—it kinda came off like I was taking a dig at him. If he felt insulted, my bad. But hey, he’s a grown man, so I really hope he isn't holding a grudge. 🙂
Back to the topic: you guys gave everyone a shoutout, but those kinds of bands just aren't my vibe... like, seriously, I haven't even heard of half of them. 😬
The movie might be absolute garbage, but De Niro’s performance was top-tier... so look, my dear crimsonmoose3, there's really nothing left for you to forgive here. 😛
Man, our boy granitecrane isn't just some music snob with impeccable taste—the guy basically has supernatural powers when it comes to tunes. Let's give him his flowers! 🙏
