I feel like we're getting closer to that "glitch in the matrix" feeling every time a new tech demo drops. At what point does the simulation actually become indistinguishable from our actual lives?

Noah Sanchez7 said:I’m just some messed up kid who’s spent his whole life making nothing but wrong moves. I hate how people live these days, and frankly, it pisses me off. That’s why I’ve chosen pure destruction. I refuse to let the system swallow me whole. Why? Because it’ll just suck me in, chew me up, and spit me out. For me, drugs are where the meaning is. I’m a victim of addiction, and honestly, I don’t care. It was my choice. Eternity from the mine, and that's my right. You guys probably feel sick seeing me, because I am everything you’re running away from. So go ahead, run. I’m fed up with all of you—fed up with those fake smiles you never take off, fed up with your obsession with always being "on," and sick of how too proud you all are. Your constant sucking up, the designer clothes, the perfect hair... it all irritates me. I’m sick of the tuxedos and that forced sophistication. I might be a wreck, but you’re worse. You look pathetic in your desperate need to be accepted. You'll swallow anything just to climb the social ladder. You're just snakes wrapped in polite manners and hollow morality.
Every time I tried to be a "decent person" by your standards, I failed miserably, and I ended up hating myself for even trying.
I’m exhausted by you people and your endless prejudices and stereotypes. You refuse to see reality. All you care about is yourselves and your polished egos.
And don't get me started on those mindless clones posing in overpriced bistros; they’ll probably just marry for a paycheck. They don't give a damn about love; they just want the cash. Some are so clueless they don't even realize they aren't in love—they're just in love with themselves, clinging to some guy who exists solely to cater to their childish whims.
You dream of trips to Mauritius or Bali. Why? Just to snap a few photos to prove your "status" and show everyone you can live high on the hog.
You’re totally oblivious and pretty damn stupid.
All you do is want. You're constantly terrified of being left behind, feeling that pressure to fit in. Every once in a while, you toss a couple of bucks to some poor soul and think you’ve done a good deed. Poor Jadnicak, he's got nothing to eat.
What do you actually have? Nothing but obligations. You’re shackled, and your souls are miles away from freedom. You lost yourselves a long time ago.
Your lives are just templates. You’re machines. Every morning is a carbon copy. The alarm goes off, you get up, brush your teeth, and shove your feet into expensive—yet somehow still depressing—shoes, tightening a tie that defines your look but actually strangles you.
It reminds me of people going to the gym...
Is that really living? Is there any beauty in that?
Is luxury your only goal? Not eating at a local burger joint, but insisting on some five-star restaurant instead. What will you say when you retire? What will you say on your deathbed?
Whose life have I lived? You will all umrecet happy.
Honor to the exceptions.
I won't be surprised if you kill this thread or ban me.
Take care.
I am not buying this for a second. Everything is so perfectly written, such great grammar, flawless punctuation.
What are you even doing? Claiming drugs are your entire purpose in life? Where does the money come from then? Unless you're huffing glue—which I doubt—drugs are a luxury. One you've supposedly taken a stand against.
And where did you get the computer you're typing this on?
This is so stupid and fake. 🙄
Period talk: Questions and advice

Michelle Kelly76 said:It’s an aunt—someone in the family. It's always just easier to talk to a real, living person.
I don't get why she's saying there isn't anyone playing the mother figure role... it's pretty obvious. 🙄
So, look, periods happen—it's what women do—usually every 27 or 28 days, though it varies wildly from person to person. For me, ever since I started at twelve, it’s been super regular, never missed a beat, but that’s not a universal rule. Some of my girlfriends had totally erratic cycles when they were younger until things settled down. And then you have people whose cycles are never steady... but that’s a whole different conversation.
Then there's ovulation, which is basically your fertile window. In theory, it’s the midpoint of the cycle—like day 12 or 13 after your period starts (counting the first day of bleeding as day one). This window lasts about 48 hours, and that's when conception happens. But again, that's just the textbook theory. I know women who got pregnant around day seven, and others who conceived right at the end of their cycle. If you're having sex, just make sure you're protected. Always.
If there’s anything else you want to know—just ask. If you feel weird posting it publicly, you can always shoot me a private message.
And honestly, the internet is right there if you need it. You can find explanations everywhere.
What's your go-to movie format?
in Movies ·
I’m always hitting up different film festivals—honestly, I just love getting lost in all those screenings. There’s something about watching movies in that raw, spontaneous way... just soaking it all in. Usually, I’ll head to the local AMC or whatever theater's nearby, but if I miss a run, I’ll just fall back on my Blu-rays or digital copies at home. I can't stand sitting in front of the TV, though—it’s impossible to actually focus when everything is just being broadcasted... it just doesn't grab me the same way.
Rapid weight loss tips?

Austin Phillips3 said:Hmm... I guess some people just didn't get what I was getting at.
So, basically—is there any way I can drop, or rather "sweat out," those extra 5 pounds in just two weeks without feeling like absolute garbage or dealing with that total exhaustion thing?
The fact that those pounds will probably come right back later is actually a good thing in my book. 🙂
Yeah. You can definitely shed water weight and mass in two weeks. It’s easy. You could even take diuretics to flush it all out.
But honestly, that is a guaranteed way to end up feeling completely wiped out.
I don't really know why you're even trying this, but if it isn't a huge deal to you, you might as well go for it.
What's the best Steven Spielberg movie?

J-man said:The Big Blue is easily Spielberg's strongest work—while Leon is an excellent thriller, it's still just a thriller. So I'm with Paul Davis51 on this one; The Big Blue has way more artistic merit than Leon.
No. Leon isn't just some thriller. Go back and watch it again... actually sit down and think about what defines a thriller, and you'll realize it’s so much more than that.
But, I get why people are drawn to The Big Blue. It’s not just about the "artistic" side of things—there’s this epic, almost overwhelming dimension to it that really hits home. It’s a movie about reaching out and pushing past every limit... it touches on the collective and individual subconscious...

Hey, hey... sorry for just jumping right into the middle of this whole thread, but I wasn't really sure who to turn to—so I figured (maybe I'm totally off base here, but still...) you guys might be my best bet for an answer.
So, basically, where can I actually find a compass? And I don't mean one of those cheap plastic toys—I mean a real, high-quality, reliable compass.
It’s actually kind of a big deal for me right now, and honestly, I haven't even the slightest clue where to start looking...
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Feel free to just shoot me a DM if that's easier.

It’s not exactly terrible, I guess... but honestly? It doesn't even come close to Deliverance. Not even in the same ballpark.

Yeah, you honestly can't believe it... 🙄 Good grief... honestly, it feels like more than half the people here gushing over this haven't even realized that Walter Hill probably filmed "Southern Comfort" just a decade later based on this very thing. It’s all right there... if you actually bother to look...

Wait, do you guys actually care??!!
Good grief...
I mean, seriously—when did I realize that men don't even notice women when there's a football game on? I found myself in this bar once where they had a game playing on the big screen—the waitress was an absolute knockout, like, seriously stunning—but everyone was just glued to the screen (it was some crucial play or a big purchase or whatever, I wasn't really paying attention) and not a single soul noticed her walking right past them...

Can massage trigger a heart attack?

Scott Allen10 said:It’s a whole different story if someone has a diagnosed or even an undiagnosed blood clot in their leg veins. In those cases, massaging the area could actually dislodge the clot—which then travels through the veins, hits the right side of the heart, moves into the pulmonary artery, and triggers a massive pulmonary embolism (a lung infarct)... which can lead to sudden death quite often.
Yeah, that’s exactly how I heard it described... thanks for providing the actual medical context. I couldn't quite wrap my head around the specific terminology at the moment, I just remember the gist of it being dangerous. 😘

I don't know, but I've heard somewhere that those anti-cellulite massages can actually dislodge some deep-seated blood clot, which could then lead to a heart attack or something...
