Look, I know this movie is an oldie, but I just sat through it again and I’m telling you—it is absolutely flawless.

I enjoy watching our movies, but Cashier is just so dull... I'm running out of things to say about it. Honestly, I probably won't revisit it for another 30 years 😬 . We have plenty of much better films out there! 👍

Anyway... the movie is a legend. Nina Violić actually went out and talked to people to nail that specific slang. That line, "Hey, guess what—is it Dolce & Gabbana or Benetton?" has been a classic for ages. 🙏 🙏

No matter how many Hollywood blockbusters come out of San Francisco or whatever else I do in my private time, it won't make these domestic productions any more watchable. It won't stop people from feeling embarrassed by the sheer low quality of American films when they're made like this.

The movie is a joke. That scene with the cabbage (among others) is just cheap, unoriginal mockery aimed at Americans, who are portrayed as being so incredibly "cool" and hyped up, acting all wild and using colorful language. It's basically just saying, "Hey, let's do that too."

Violić is a professional actress; mastering specific dialects for certain roles is just part of the job description. It isn't some exclusive achievement or some kind of massive bonus. It's simply what you expect from someone in her position.
