They aren't leggings, they're actually those thermal pajamas 😬.

This photo was taken about two or three months ago, back when she still had her little legs visible...

edit:

Look, quietpilot87, my actual goal here is to firm up my glutes and finally lose this extra padding on my hips

Unless you're hitting up McDonald's like daviti tata 😁 otherwise, you could just wear a slice 🙂.
Oof, honestly, eating at McDonald's would basically be a diet for me

Here I am, sitting at 250 lbs in total relaxation mode... 😁

How to stay motivated to work out? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
What really keeps me going is that feeling of getting progressively stronger every single time... knowing that 99.9999% of the people I run into are nowhere near my level. 😁

Okay, I'm joking a little bit... what actually drives me is seeing someone else out there—whether it’s in person or just scrolling through social media—who is better or stronger than me. It creates this immediate need to overtake them.

Plus, sticking to the training program is a massive motivator on its own. Seeing the raw data and the numbers makes it impossible to ignore how much I've improved compared to where I started.

Angela Nelson98 said:I need to ask something, but I’m struggling to find a way to phrase it without sounding like a total bore... 🙂
So, I’ve been hitting the gym consistently for about three months now. I managed to drop 7 pounds already, which isn't bad... My cousin over in the States sent me this workout routine he put together, and honestly...
So, I’ve hired a personal trainer, and he actually put together a full meal plan for me. I'm hitting five meals a day, all timed out perfectly, and honestly... I don't want to bore you with all the granular details...
But he told me she should probably pick up some kind of supplement... you know, like that protein or Whey (if those are even actually the same thing)...
He was more specific about it—suggesting I grab something I can actually eat on the go as a meal replacement, and insisting that I make it a non-negotiable part of my routine...
I drink it right after my workout... just to make sure my muscles don't completely waste away. It's not like the instructions aren't written in plain English, but I still feel like I missed a few details somewhere... 🙂
So, if I’ve got this right... the goal is to actually build muscle after a workout while making sure that as the pounds drop off, I'm not losing my hard-earned muscle mass in the process?
So, I actually went ahead and asked my trainers about this at the gym, but honestly? Either they have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about, or they’re just trying to squeeze every last cent out of me... They basically just stood there and rattled off a laundry list of every supplement under the sun.
What exactly am I supposed to be taking here? Because if I go by this logic, I have to take one thing just so I can take the next one, since the first one won't even do anything unless it's paired with the second... and then there's the third thing... which doesn't even exist...
What happens to the effectiveness if you don't take something else alongside it? 🙂
I had to do a double-take when they offered me that specific protein. My brother is the one using it—he’s on that mission to bulk up and pack on some serious muscle—so I was naturally a bit skeptical. Honestly, I'm a little hesitant about picking up the wrong thing... wouldn't want to make a mistake with my supplements.

I know I can be a bit much and probably pretty annoying, but would someone mind just giving me the exact name of that protein? I really want to be one hundred percent sure before I buy anything...

Just one more thing... a friend of mine picked up some Twinlab diet fuel from a local pharmacy to help with weight loss, and I'm sitting here wondering: is this just overpriced placebo, or is there actually something to it?

You're welcome.

It’s just standard whey protein. Honestly, you can pick whatever you want—grab some Dymatize, go with Pro Nutrition, or just find something else that works for you...

And for heaven's sake, can we please stop with this "accidental" bulking everyone seems to be obsessed with? It’s exactly what every woman is terrified of...
It turns out this whole thing happens overnight... rather than being the result of years of grinding and endless effort...
The only bodybuilders who actually put in the effort to look like idiots are the ones truly trying... whereas everyone else just seems to stumble into it overnight without even realizing what happened...
Let’s be real: most of you don't even have a legitimate training program, let alone a proper diet, quality supplements, or any kind of PEDs... honestly, you probably don't even have enough natural testosterone in your system to pack on a decent amount of muscle.

and honestly, I haven't the slightest clue what the prices are looking like these days

all I know for sure is that plenty of strongmen tend to slam down some gainers right before they hit the gym

but hey, fair enough... those guys need to pack in way more calories just to stay in their weight class, so I guess it makes sense for them
Best protein powders for muscle gain? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Look, I'm not saying gainers are some kind of miracle worker, but they aren't exactly trash either...

A ton of pro athletes actually swear by them—either as a quick energy boost right before hitting the gym or as a solid meal replacement once they're done with their sets.
Intense cardio sessions in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Richard Ward71 said:So... I've got the gym scheduled for this evening.
In the mornings, I occasionally do some cardio on the treadmill, but since that's pretty low intensity and I actually want to stay in shape, I'm looking to switch things up...
My plan is to knock out ten 50m sprints, followed by about 40-45 minutes of running—let's call it moderate intensity...
Since I was playing basketball until recently, my conditioning is decent, so I don't think I'll have any trouble handling it...
I’m looking for some advice on where to slot this sprint and run combo into my routine...
I read somewhere that hitting high-intensity cardio first thing in the morning isn't ideal, so would it be okay to do this after my evening weight session instead? My afternoons are completely booked...
So basically, it's either morning or night...
Anyway, hoping for some actual, useful feedback here...

Here is how I used to handle my evenings:

A 10-minute warm-up, maybe a light jog...
Then three rounds of bodyweight exercises, performed back-to-back without rest...
For example: 10 squats, 10 pull-ups, 10 jumps, 10 push-ups, 10 burpees, then a 30-60 second break before repeating the circuit two more times...
After that, I'd hit 10 or 15 sprints over about 30 meters...
And then, inevitably, I'd be puking...
😁

Sometimes I'd also go for a run at, say, 7.5 miles, but just as fast as I could manage...

Here’s one from back when I was hovering around 220 lbs (I think)... which means I’m about 20 lbs lighter now.

And here are a few more from my "scrawny" era...

(The reason they look so small is because I grabbed them from an interesting old YouTube clip)😁

Jamie Phillips4 said:I have a question, and I’m trying to avoid starting a whole new thread here.
So, last year I was hitting this gym where the owner—a serious bodybuilder type—set me up with this specific split
Day 1: Back, triceps, and abs
Day 2: Chest, biceps, and abs
Day 3: Shoulders, legs, and abs
Standard warmup and stretching beforehand, of course...

Now I've moved to a different gym, and this owner is suggesting something else entirely
1. Back and biceps (since the biceps get some work during back movements) plus abs
2. Chest and triceps (same logic applies) plus abs
3. Shoulders and legs + abs

So now I'm asking you all: which approach actually makes more sense?

What exactly is your end goal here?

If you ask me, neither of these splits is particularly effective (hitting one body part once a week)... I'd much rather see you run a Pull/Press/Push style program.

For example, Pull would be deadlifts, pull-ups, bent-over rows, etc.
Press could be bench press, overhead press, and so on.
Push might involve squats...

Basically, you want to build your training around those foundational movements.

Say, Day 1

Deadlifts 5x5
One or two accessory lifts for the deadlift (maybe Romanian deadlifts, stiff-legged deadlifts, or trap bar deadlifts)
And one upper body movement—alternating between rowing one week and pull-ups the next.

Day 2

Bench press 5x5
One or two accessories (close-grip bench, incline dumbbell press, or barbell work)
Overhead shoulder press 4x5

Day 3

Back squats 5x5
Front squats 4x6
Good mornings or stiff-legged deadlifts

That's essentially the gist of it...

Those bodybuilding splits weren't actually written by bodybuilders, believe me. They were likely penned by some guy in an editor's office at a fitness magazine who probably hasn't even touched a barbell in his life.
Real bodybuilding programs require a bodybuilding diet, massive amounts of rest, and "assistance"... and by that, I don't mean protein powder or creatine, but actual performance enhancers.

With the routine I laid out above, you'll find it much easier to pack on some fundamental mass and strength, which will give you a better foundation for whatever comes later.

Raymond Wood69 said:Everything sounds great in theory, but my biggest hurdle is actually stepping foot in the gym... I'm honestly a little self-conscious about walking in there in front of those guys🙄 but hey, a necessary evil, I guess

So, what exactly is your mental image of a gym?

Do you think it’s like some Hollywood movie scene where twenty massive dudes weighing 300 pounds are just screaming at the ceiling while lifting entire cars?

In reality, it’s mostly just beginners and people trying to get their lives together

There is zero reason to feel awkward; everyone had to start somewhere...

I just started my own routine about three months ago, and honestly, it was perfectly fine😁

@Raymond Wood69

How many times are we going to circle back to this exact same question?

This whole thread is completely pointless...

Why wouldn't I be able to achieve it?

Instead, why don't you ask what steps are required to reach those specific goals?
