Does anyone happen to know what happened to sjeban? I stumbled upon some of her old posts recently, and it just brought her back to my mind.
Snoring issues in Health ·

My husband snores incessantly... we've tried him sleeping on his back, his side—it doesn't matter—he just won't stop..

I’m waking up multiple times a night, practically shaking him awake.. begging him to just stop, but it's the same thing over and over...

Is there any way to fix this? What actually triggers that snoring reflex? 🤷

I feel your pain. My boyfriend is the same way; he’s particularly bad whenever he ends up on his back. It’s just enough to jar me awake two or three times a night, leaving me completely exhausted by morning.
You can pick up nasal strips at any local CVS or some throat sprays to use before bed, though my guy has a bit of a "phobia" when it comes to anything chemical.
I once read in a health magazine that taking a spoonful of olive oil before sleep might help, but he constantly forgets to do it, so I end up being the one who takes the heat for it. 😁
About ten years ago, I underwent surgery to correct a deviated septum, but honestly, it didn’t do much for me. My nose still runs constantly, feels partially obstructed, and is just generally unreliable—especially at night, when I end up breathing through my mouth most of the time. I recently had some X-rays done, and the verdict was that I have thickened nasal mucosa due to an allergic reaction, though strangely enough, basic triggers like dust don't seem to bother me.
Since private surgeons are currently priced way out of my budget, and I’m still on the fence about whether another procedure will even work, could anyone recommend a reliable surgeon working within the hospital systems in Chicago?
My first attempt was at Mercury, seeing Dr. Lajtman, but I wasn't exactly thrilled with the results.
A colleague just dropped this in my inbox via email:

Please take a moment to sign this online petition calling for free cervical cancer vaccinations, an initiative currently backed by the European Parliament. If they can secure one million signatures across the EU, the goal is to include free vaccinations for girls aged 9 to 12 as part of the national vaccination program.
So far, they’ve managed to gather about 300,000 signatures.

Feel free to pass this along to friends, acquaintances, or anyone else you know... And gentlemen, this applies to you too—keep your girlfriends, partners, sisters, or daughters in mind.

:-) Thanks

Please accept my deepest condolences.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way for us to bring our mothers back, but I like to believe they're watching over us from above.

Thank you Jane and everyone else who reached out to offer support during this difficult time.

Please accept my deepest condolences.🙂

Sutent and Tarceva are being added to the Medicare formulary starting March 1st!🎉 🙂 🙂

Get the treatment you need, folks!👍

Moving forward!

Hats off to them, I truly tip my cap.👍
I also want to wish a successful recovery to everyone who will be using these medications.
Nicole Diaz23 said:I underwent treatments both before and after my septum surgery. What I was told is that the laser stimulates mucosal function and boosts the immune response, which makes it quite effective for people dealing with nasal allergies, congestion, and similar issues. For me personally, Dr. Klapan was a huge help. I’d recommend it to anyone struggling with nasal health; I was actually advised to use the Bioptron following my surgery. If you need more specifics, feel free to shoot me a private message.

Greetings,
could you perhaps be a bit more specific about the nasal issues you're facing?
I went through surgery for a deviated septum, but honestly, it hasn't made a lick of difference. My nose is constantly running and feels perpetually half-blocked. I had an X-ray done, and the results suggest my mucosa has thickened due to some sort of allergic reaction, though nobody can pinpoint the trigger. I’ve already tested for the usual suspects—dust, mites, and things of that nature—but everything came back negative.
Thanks.

Samuel Davis16,

I realize there are plenty of "sensitive" types out there, but quite frankly, I find it exhausting when people cling to trivial excuses—you know the drill: getting dumped, failing a midterm at State, some unrequited crush, and other such nonsense. It’s just nonsense. There are far more profound tragedies out there where people actually continue to live despite overwhelming grief and loss. For instance, my cousin lost not one, but two children, yet she keeps pushing forward and chooses to live rather than give up. I suspect a few people simply find life too easy, so they fail to appreciate how much they actually have.

What is wrong with you people? It’s like you all just landed from Mars today.😲
I honestly don't understand what kind of nonsense is weighing on you so heavily that you'd consider ending it all. By the time I was three, my father and grandmother had already passed away, and then my mother spent two years fighting cancer before she left us. I found myself completely alone by thirty, and even then, nothing felt quite that extreme. Sure, I feel miserable and lonely sometimes—of course I do—but life keeps moving. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or so they say.

Today our Dina has gone to the angels 😢...I know this because she truly was one🙂. She closed her tired eyes (in recent times) and went to join her father (that’s how she used to put it—that he was waiting for her, but that she still had enough strength left to live... until today).

I just have to get this out.. 😢
My dear D... I am going to miss you so much. I'll miss all your kind words, all your dreams, and that unwavering optimism you maintained despite the sea of misfortune surrounding you. It’s hard, and my heart is heavy... I love you deeply and sincerely...

I am infinitely sorry. She was there for me during my darkest moments, even while fighting her own grueling illness; this news has shaken me to my core.😢
Dina, dear, you are an angel now.🙂

Does anyone have any advice on how to get it back up? 😁

Salt helps lower blood pressure—well, actually, salt raises it, so maybe grab some chips or something salty if you're feeling low.
Otherwise, movement is key for circulation. Beets can help too, and garlic is great, though I probably wouldn't recommend much garlic right now since it might drop your pressure even further. You can find plenty of herbal supplements designed to boost circulation these days; just ask at a local CVS or check the aisles at Walgreens.
Emily Campbell36 said:I'm heading in next Friday, but I have a mountain of research and prep work to tackle before then. To be honest, the thought of going under general anesthesia has me feeling a little on edge.

Look, I’ve been under general anesthesia myself, and honestly? You won't feel a thing. You just drift off like a baby. I once heard this woman recount her experience getting nose surgery at a clinic near Salat; she opted for local anesthesia instead. She had to sit there for two full hours, listening to the doctors talk about how they were filing down and reshaping her nasal bone. Just the thought of it gives me the chills.😱
Emily Campbell36 said:Does it just handle the functional stuff and throw this in as an afterthought, or what?

From what I understand, they cover both the functional and aesthetic aspects through insurance, so there’s no out-of-pocket cost for it.
Emily Campbell36 said:I’m finally scheduled for surgery soon myself. Does anyone have experience with Dr. Lightman over at Mercy Hospital?

In my case, the nose job didn't actually solve the functional issues; I'm still dealing with constant drainage and partial congestion. I can't tell if that's down to the surgeon's work or just my own faulty anatomy... who knows.😁
The only real win was the aesthetic improvement, which I requested on the side (essentially just smoothing out a bump on the bridge).
Kimberly Bishop91 said:My father-in-law lost his battle with cancer😢...he passed away last week..😢It started with stomach pain, we got him to the hospital in the morning and he was gone by the afternoon. At least he didn't suffer too much. He had actually been such a bright spot lately—so cheerful during those last few days, even regained some weight and his appetite... then, just like that..
Hang in there, everyone. I truly hope you all win your battles soon. Best regards.

Please accept my deepest condolences.😢

My sincere sympathies go out to slyjackal38 as well.😢
I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Most importantly, I hope you all enjoy a massive amount of good health in the coming year; if we can get that right, everything else usually tends to fall into place.
If this turns out to be true...
slyrider11 said:My mother passed away five days ago... the doctors made the right call.
It’s a small mercy that she didn't have to endure intense pain.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. Unfortunately, her cancer had progressed too far; she didn't even get the chance to fight it, despite being such a fighter her entire life.
To everyone currently in the thick of the battle, I wish you all the luck and strength in the world... please beat this monster—not just for yourselves and your loved ones, but for those who weren't granted the opportunity to fight.

Please accept my deepest condolences.
