Oh boy, here comes a little chick charging at the hens for no reason at all. 🙄 Given how much attitude is being thrown around, there's really no point in picking a fight with Gary Sanchez; she actually seems quite charming to me now. Besides, the conversation is drifting further away from Ben Affleck and Dogma (remember how this whole thing even started?) If I may return to the film itself, my absolute favorite is Rickman throughout the entire thing, followed closely by Jason Lee. If anyone else had delivered those lines instead of Rickman, it would have been a total disappointment. His expressions, that deadpan delivery... he's just the king.
...one of the most powerful sequences in the entire film, and easily the sharpest jab—and most clever application—of the Star Covenant...
I have to say, the whole thing involving the Star Covenant is just complete nonsense... and honestly, it isn't even just that one part. It’s just plain boring. When I find myself rewatching it, I basically just try to power through that specific section until it's over...
To be precise, you’re talking about people like yourself who lack... A more intelligent pursuit... (not to recreate Ben's existence)
My dear transgender friend, you are being way too serious about this tasteless nonsense. I’m honestly just trolling at this point... it actually hurts my soul to even think about Q or anyone else like him...
You honestly have no idea what my job actually entails... So, just shut it...
The guy is just slimy completely 1. His very presence is repulsive—it's visceral, right down to my core 2. He’s got that obnoxious, polished celebrity attitude, acting like he's some kind of god; those rays coming off IThinkIAmTooSexy4Myself are just pathetic 3. Honestly, his acting is such a waste of breath, I can't even bother describing it 4. I'm just sitting here waiting for him to drop an album so I can get back to tearing him apart 5. Look at the state of him 6. Seeing him dragged through the tabloids alongside J.Lo... man, I was actually afraid I might accidentally stumble onto a photo of them under my pillow
Besides, celebrities exist specifically to be ridiculed; I know that's Ben's whole purpose in life—to give the public something to vent on
Spot Perdita says: To me, the dialogue is actually quite hilarious... and then there’s that song "Still" on the soundtrack...👍
Where exactly does that song fit into the film? Honestly, it just slipped my mind today... I can't quite recall... That film is dear to my heart... I always end up grinning from ear to ear whenever I watch it... The only part that really drags for me is when they kill off Raja near Telet... honestly, it feels a bit tedious... But then again, the film does have its own specific little details...
The poor Black man.😁 Mocking everything and everyone... honestly, I just happen to like Smith. What can you do?... Ugh, Affleck... just ugh.
Marx said:Alright folks, here is the real question: a long time ago, I was watching some total trash Sci-fi film on ABC. It aired at nine in the morning, so you can imagine the level of "classic" we are dealing with... Anyway, the pivotal scene in this movie involves Humans on a starship capturing some cute little space monster and keeping it in quarantine. Then, in one bizarre cabaret-style moment, the creature grabs a microphone and starts singing: "I WANT TO EAT YOUR SMILE..." and so on. Eventually, it escapes quarantine and eats everyone (of course, without any blood or violence, since this was a 9:00 AM broadcast)...
The question:
DOES ANYONE RECALL WHICH MOVIE THIS IS?
I remember it; I think about it often, actually. People used to bash their heads against the wall trying to decipher what it was even attempting to convey, only to realize after much deliberation: "I want to eat your smile..." Honestly, the best part is that he ate the entire crew in that specific category of "movies for good kids who wake up early," and the monster looked like something straight out of Sesame Street—just pure trash Sci-fi. Right in the middle of his meal, my power went out...
And my favorite is Holy I don't perceive Rimmer in quite that way... though as a character, he is definitely stronger...
As for the HAL & IBM, does anyone still believe in coincidences?
Man, this movie is... hahahahahaha... look, there are some total logic gaps, and the kid clearly hasn't a clue how to act. Those socialist themes feel pretty forced, too. That said, they’re definitely on the right track with the atmosphere, and honestly? It was so hilariously bad that I actually enjoyed it in a weirdly perverse way... but it's still garbage still, better than that Hollywood trash
King certainly gave it his all here... The book was decent enough. In the movie, having Jason Lee play my favorite little beaver makes the whole experience wonderful and lovely... But that whole bit with the ridiculous... end with those special effects is just standing there...
The movie is phenomenal, obviously, obviously, obviously but the enthusiasm is totally scaled back to just being impressed by a fastball (though it’s still massive enthusiasm) and besides, Tarantino is just a man; you can't escape Hollywood
That annoying thing Herrmann does—the whistling. Argh, it’s just so incredibly grating... That Christmas fight scene, you know, the one in the snow mixed with that Spanish vibe? Was it something like Santa Esmeralda? "Don't let me..." or whatever... But man, his music is always top-tier, and now it's even more intense. Pure quality.
The movie is short and sweet, perfectly paced given its specific constraints Honestly, it’s been ages since I’ve seen anything this good in an AMC Theatres... I can't even remember the last time
Ice Age, naturally. The Last Unicorn. Shrek—yeah, I’m definitely adding that to the list. A Christmas Carol, though Mickey Mouse & Co. gave their own interpretation. Aladdin (the law).
Good grief, once they started bringing out those flags...... Man, if only Thompson were a true American....... But, I really shouldn't go on like this: Edward Norton is absolute perfection Spike Lee is a legend +fuck the scenes where the female lead is unnervingly gorgeous this movie actually makes me want to watch films again
If nothing else, he's worth a watch just for Wolverine The guy is absolutely unhinged What a legend👍 At least I hope they gave him his well-deserved 89% of the screen time
so there you have it: the setup, the rising action, the climax, the resolution, the Stars and Stripes, and finally... the end and just to make it easy on the eyes, let's say it looks as good as an Ethiopian flag it’s getting tedious, honestly; I see this stuff more often than I see my own mother
Lily Collins said:All in all, I wasn't exactly blown away. There were a few decent moments, but the rest felt incredibly dragged out. It ends on a happy note since the guy ends up doing alright.
"A FEW"??? "A FEW"??? The movie was virtually unwatchable even with two double espressos and an immense amount of sheer mental willpower. We really ought to start labeling these things for the brave souls—the true adventurers who step into a theater ready to face mediocrity—noting, perhaps, how many shots of espresso will be required to endure such shallow and tedious brain massage... If only to spare the innocent victims, so they might be fully aware of what they are charging into...
The only redeeming quality is the father figure; a solid performance...
