So, this one is based on a book by Stephen King. Honestly, Thomas Jane is pretty solid in one of the lead roles. It’s this weird, cool mix of Sci-Fi and Thriller, kind of giving me those vibes from The Thing, though this felt a bit more fleshed out... even if I think they could have handled the development way better than they did. Yeah... they definitely rushed things toward the end, but all things considered, I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5 in my book. Oh, and having Morgan Freeman playing the villain? That was totally fine...

Despite some glaring inconsistencies and minor nonsense—like an Alien that treats people like peanuts, standing three meters tall, blah blah... or someone spending ten whole minutes opening a stupid manhole cover just to "build tension"... overall, though...

The movie is fantastic... easily one of the best I've seen lately...👍

The movie kicks off strong, hits its stride in the middle, and then absolutely falls apart at the end. It goes from this sharp, eerie horror vibe straight into some pointless alien nonsense.

Yeah, that ending was a disaster... there's an alternative cut on the DVD, but I didn't bother watching it since it was already 4:30 in the morning...

It’s a hollow, unfinished conclusion despite having top-tier special effects.😁

The most ridiculous part is that Freeman spent 25 years fighting off aliens... yet in a quarter-century of invasion, not one of them managed to break into a single water main...

Honestly, I have plenty more gripes...

Whatever, my overall impression remains unchanged...

Don't even bother looking at the alternative ending. It dragged my rating for this movie way down...👎

I'm with you on the 3.5-4 rating... though I'm not exactly a huge fan of that subgenre, nor am I much into Zan's sci-fi or horror stuff...
The ending felt pretty trivial to me too.

So, I finally sat down and watched it a few days ago.

To be perfectly honest, the movie suffers from a handful of rather glaring plot holes—and believe me, I’m usually the type of viewer who doesn't even notice them. It feels a bit disjointed in places, too. However, given the current drought of actually decent films within this genre, I suppose it's an acceptable watch.

If you ask me, this is easily one of the worst attempts to bring Stephen King to the big screen! The movie starts off strong; the atmosphere is fantastic right up until the director finally reveals what we're actually dealing with! Once that happens, I honestly couldn't stop laughing! For real! 😁 What a disaster! Just give me my fifteen bucks back! And as for Morgan Freeman, I don't think I've ever seen him stuck in such a weak, half-baked role! He looks completely lost in the movie and totally disconnected from his own character!

I was genuinely hooked on this movie until the very end, where it let me down just a little bit—though it wasn't a total disaster. What’s actually unsettling, though, is that alternative ending. Seriously, don't watch it! 😲

There are too many loose ends, and the characters feel pretty thin. Everyone seems to have these special abilities, yet for the drunk guy, for instance, we never really learn what his is. And here's what really bugs me about the whole premise: if they care about Duddits that much, why on earth haven't they seen him in twenty years? They're all gathering in that shack without him... it feels a bit silly, honestly. 🤔
The atmosphere and the visual effects definitely help save the experience... 👍

True. That "snake" is actually pretty interesting to me. It’s got this eerie, unsettling quality to it, and the craftsmanship is solid—it feels genuinely alive. Though, if I'm being honest, even ordinary snakes can feel pretty eerie sometimes. 😁

Those aliens are a bit pathetic, I guess... especially during that scene in the meadow. 🙄
Next time I watch it, I'll pay closer attention to the details. Unfortunately, I had to rewind it quickly and completely forgot to rip it to the disc. God, I'm an idiot.

Next time I sit down to watch this, I’m going to pay much closer attention to the details. Unfortunately, I had to rush through it and return it so fast that I completely forgot to rip it to my hard drive. Dammit, what an idiot.

Look, don't waste your precious time or burn through your resources on this one—I’ve got a better suggestion for you! If you're genuinely into that whole vibe of snakes or some kind of creepy reptilian creatures, you should really check out if you've seen Deep Rising or maybe even the first Tremors movie! 😉

It’s pretty interesting when you think about it, though—Century Storm was actually written specifically as a teleplay, so there wasn't even an original standalone novel before the movie came out.
