Looks like it's a total mess in IT Support ·
I just have my own little way of helping people out. 😉

Is this a software glitch or a hardware issue? To start things off—maybe try booting up in Safe Mode... When was the last time you ran a scan with an anti-malware tool? You could try running Malwarebytes (assuming you can actually get into Safe Mode, of course). Also, when was the last time you gave your PC a good dusting?
It looks like there’s a new BIOS update out for my Gigabyte Z87—apparently, it adds support for the refresh processors.
So, does that mean I can finally run those Haswell refresh CPUs on my "old" motherboard?
408 Request Time-out Error in Forum Help! ·
Man, I’m using Google Chrome and I keep getting hit with this 408 request time-out error—it's driving me crazy. I have to refresh the page like five or six times just to get it to actually load... Can we please get some fixes around here? It feels like there's always something glitchy going on with this forum lately.
If you’re looking to "get" Malwarebytes without paying full price, you can usually find a working key on a torrent site—no real cracks needed. You just enter the key, and it works fine. If that key happens to stop working after a while, there's an option in the program—something like "deactivate ID"—where you just click that, and you're right back to having the free version. Or, you know, you could just plug in a different key. ☕
You can go ahead and grab that AMD FX-8320 without any real worries... The performance gap is honestly pretty negligible, and you'll save some decent cash in the process. $67

Just grab whatever the current speed of your RAM is...

Just follow the steps shown in the screenshots—it’s actually pretty straightforward...

Hmm... we're talking about Windows 8 here, right? I've never actually gone through this myself—so I can't give you a 100% guaranteed answer—but it's worth a shot. Why don't you try opening up your file explorer, head over to the C: drive, and see if there’s a folder sitting in there called Windows Old? If it's there, your files should be tucked away inside that folder somewhere. Alternatively, if you can manage to run a system restore, you might be able to roll things back. Once that's done, maybe download Norton, run a full scan, and just wipe out whatever it finds to clear up the issue...
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
You’re going to need Hiren's Boot CD... I can't quite recall the specific name of the utility used to crack Windows passwords right now, but let's start by getting a bootable USB drive ready first—then we can go from there. Honestly, maybe someone else here will chime in with the exact name of that password cracker found in the Hiren's toolkit before I figure it out myself. Anyway, here is a link that walks you through how to create a bootable USB using that Hiren's collection of tools.
NVIDIA GeForce 710m in IT Support ·
I'm not entirely sure if the process is identical for laptops compared to desktops—it can be a bit different sometimes—but have you had a chance to check your BIOS to see if that NVIDIA GeForce 710 is actually enabled?
Sudden shutdowns? in IT Support ·
To smells like a power supply issue to me... When was the last time you actually gave your PC a good dust cleaning?
Laptop is acting up in IT Support ·
Since you're already cleaning out your laptop anyway—might as well grab some isopropyl alcohol and wipe away that old, crusty thermal paste. Just put down a tiny bit of fresh stuff, maybe about the size of a grain of rice, right in the middle of the processor...

Alright, looks like the hard drive issue is sorted out. Maybe try running a Memtest just to be safe and see what happens..

To honestly sounds like a failing hard drive to me. Since you've already given the computer a good dusting and ran through all those different antivirus scans, there's really only one thing left to check... DOWNLOAD ME There's this handy little utility that shows you exactly how your drive is holding up. Once you get it downloaded and installed, you'll basically see one of three statuses—or two types of warnings, depending on how bad it is...

A blue status means your hard drive is in great shape and you've got nothing to worry about.

Yellow means the drive is starting to show some errors (it'll actually tell you what they are).

Red? That means the drive is in serious trouble. If you see red, please back everything up immediately and start looking for a replacement drive. Once you've run the tool, let me know what it says so we can figure out our next move. 🙂

Give that fix Sean Moore77 suggested a shot. If the image still isn't showing up after you try that—well, there's a pretty good chance your motherboard finally gave up the ghost...

And when you fire up your laptop, do you actually see any text or images popping up on the screen, or is it just a total black void every single time?
Desktop PC build for $750? in Desktops ·
Are you talking about RAM sticks you grab at a local shop, or an actual dedicated heatsink designed to cool down your memory modules? Something like this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835236002

If that's what you mean, those are really just for people who spend their time overclocking their RAM—the heatsink is there to manage that extra heat. Honestly? In my opinion, it’s kind of a waste of money for most people.. 😁

As for the integrated graphics built into the processor, that's really meant for everyday office users—people using their PC for work, browsing the web, or light tasks. You don't need a dedicated graphics card plugged into the motherboard for that. But, if you're looking to play modern games and want things to actually run smoothly, then yeah, you're definitely going to need to pick up a separate gaming card..

Go with the cheaper option... Honestly, you won't even notice a difference in speed during everyday use.
