The same T.C.—I don't know their stuff all that well (I only have The Mirror Conspiracy at home), but they put this together beautifully. Stan Getz, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmy Smith... honestly, I could paste the entire tracklist right here, I love everything about it. I listened to the album last week—I lost count, maybe ten times?—and loved every single moment. Plus, I blasted it again today during the drive from Savannah to Washington, D.C. It's hard to pick a favorite track, especially since so many are instrumentals, and the ones with lyrics are mostly in Spanish, so I don't really follow along.
You should try picking up 'The Richest Man in Babylon,' it's just as fantastic.
On my rotation this week: Jay Z - The Black Album (not even a huge rap fan, but this is genius) Faithless - No Roots
Man, he used to play them for me all the time—I still get chills thinking about that 'Joan Crawford' track ('Joan Crawford has risen from the grave,' man... goosebumps). They definitely have some solid stuff in their catalog.
Remember when Patti Smith was seeing Allen Lanier? See, I’m the guy you come to for those kinds of deep cuts... 🙄
Back in the US, maybe a decade or so ago—possibly even longer—there was this heartbreaking case involving a 13-year-old girl. She was sexually abused by a family friend and ended up pregnant. At the time, she wasn't allowed to get an abortion here; I think they even took the fight all the way to the Supreme Court, and still, nothing. They wouldn't budge. In the end, she had to travel to the UK just to access the care she needed.

That’s exactly why these women don't need some stranger coming in to lecture them or calling them idiots. It’s a lose-lose logic: either they really are making poor choices—in which case, what's the point of explaining anything?—or they aren't "idiots" at all, but simply faced circumstances so overwhelming that abortion felt like the only path. Either way, nobody needs to preach to them; they're already carrying the weight of that choice on their own shoulders.

Man, imagine seeing that clip... just Terry Wogan standing there at Eurovision with absolutely nothing to say. 😲 😁

You can't just lean on the classics if the energy starts to dip. Though, I did suggest Born Slippy... Nah, the list is fine, but it definitely needs more recent hits...
I'm basically retired, so my party is for retirees—you get what I'm saying? 😁

Hmm, he’s got that certain "something" I was actually venting about on the forums the other day... honestly, I’d trade multiple Brad Pitts or George Clooneys just to get one Gabriel Byrne. 🙂 I don't know how to put it into words, man...
