Laser eye surgery in Health ·
Robin Sanchez32 said:I have an appointment scheduled at Light Polyclinic in two weeks for a consultation and potentially surgery.

I’ve been psyching myself up for this procedure for quite some time. I have meticulously read through this entire thread to gather as much information as possible.

To be honest, I'm feeling a bit conflicted. There are plenty of success stories here, but there are also some—unfortunately—very unsettling accounts.

I am in my early 50s. My prescription is +3.00 in both eyes, with a cylinder of 0.50 in the left eye. I rely on glasses with that correction whenever I'm driving or just need clear distance vision.
On top of that, I require reading glasses with an additional +1.50 boost in both eyes.

I would appreciate it if anyone who has dealt with a similar situation could share their experience. Did you decide to go through with the surgery? What was the actual procedure like, how was the recovery, and how much time did you need to take off work?

Additionally, if anyone has been treated by Dr. Sharice, please let me know the name of the clinic and what your experience was like.

I must admit, after everything I've read, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. And frankly, dropping $150 just for an initial exam feels a bit steep.

But that isn't even the biggest concern. It's the thought that if complications or lasting side effects occur, you're looking at a $3,000 bill... at that point, one might seriously reconsider the whole thing.

🙄

I'm in a similar spot. I'm 45, with a +4.50 in one eye and +5.00 in the other, plus 0.50 astigmatism. Back in March, I had a consultation with Dr. Smith—just a talk, no full exam yet—and he told me that because of my age-related farsightedness, laser correction isn't really an option for me. Instead, he suggested replacing my natural lens with a multifocal one. He did warn me that night driving might be tricky and that I'd still likely need +0.50 glasses for computer work. That didn't change my mind about wanting to ditch the glasses and contacts, nor did the price he quoted. Luckily, I stumbled upon this thread and read it thoroughly (thanks to Kenneth Fisher, Tommy13, and the other forum users). After talking to some other ophthalmologists—specifically the highly regarded Dr. Vukovic from Miami—I decided it's better to just sit tight. Dr. Vukovic advised that given my high prescription and age, doing nothing is actually the best move; otherwise, I might do more harm than good. For now, I'm sticking with my glasses and contacts. If anyone else with a positive (+) prescription has had good results, let me know.

Just finished the first episode and man, this show is legit. It actually gave me something to think about. I’m already hooked and can't wait for the next one. Does anyone know how many seasons have been picked up yet?
Can you make it without film academy? in Movies ·
I’m wondering if there's any way to actually "make it" in the American film industry without graduating from a top-tier film academy.
I want to direct, but from what I can see, spots at these academies are incredibly limited—and most of them seem to go to people who already have the right connections.

I read somewhere that it hit the rental stores already, and apparently, the reviews are glowing.
Four Rooms in Movies ·
I've been waiting on this movie for a long time, and honestly? It’s a knockout.
The first two rooms were a total drag, but Rodriguez and Tarantino really stepped up and saved the day. I was hooked on their stories.

Just watched the trailer. It’s brilliant. Now I'm actually hooked on the movie and all these little clues they're dropping.
Besides the site you linked, there are two others out there:

The first one has this puzzle game you have to solve. I managed to crack it and a video started playing, but I got too sucked in and ended up passing out.

The second one is just some blog. Honestly, I can't make heads or tails of it.
