Luckily I'm limited, so I'm only really interested in this 😳

Lale, did everyone play with Trablga? 😬

I guess I was thinking along those same lines. 😬

Taylor Patel2, don't go off on a tangent. ☕ 😬

People tried telling me not to look into anything after the third one either—though I might just do it for the hell of it... and while I wouldn't call myself a guitar fascist, I have to admit I prefer a real guitar over synths any day.

Man, those demo recordings. 🙂

They’re pretty solid, honestly 🙂

The Tigers 😍—that girl with the emotions is just incredible 🙂

The outdoor movies at the local park are probably one of the best spots in the universe—plus, those open-air concerts are everything 😍

And I kind of feel like she’s just giving us the middle finger out of love, maybe 😳

I actually dig this 😳

though I’ve seen other mods stepping up before me—not that I plan on being the resident grouch all the time😢 even if that's clearly my vibe🙂 😳

Modest Mouse totally sold out😢 🙏

not me, though—Modest Mouse is just for wimps. 😈 😳

I mean, it’s pretty important that it's loud enough

you don't even have to say anything—I'll just be the one to admit I love Modest Mouse🙈

if they happen to have an electric guitar

Yes! And everyone else too...

There’s this DVD series called "Burn to Shine" put together by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green. The whole concept is pretty cool—they find a house in some city that's about to be demolished, then they track down someone from the local scene to curate it. That person brings in dozens of musicians to play, they record everything, and then the house gets torn down... anyway, they did one in Washington and it features Tedek, which is just gorgeous—he plays Bleeding Powers, just him and his guitar, something I haven't seen in a long time. 😍
He absolutely crushed it—it sounded like five people were playing instead of just one 😍
His guitar work is killer 🙏

So yeah, just go download it. There aren't any clips online, so I couldn't even find the part where Tedek is by himself.

casualraven said:I wasn't even trying to troll—I just asked "what's Mance?" because, honestly, besides sounding like some guy idling away his time at a roadside diner with a cheap coffee and a smoke, I have no clue who that is. 😬

Take a look at the thread.

So, what do we actually think about this guy? Is it even really music? He just kind of strums a guitar and mumbles some nonsensical lyrics—I guess. He’s definitely unique, which is a plus given the state of the American music scene lately, but I wonder if there's actually anything to him.

If you're looking for more info, maybe try being a bit more specific—because right now, I'm just sitting here thinking, "Wait, what exactly are we talking about, Mance?" Yeah. Just trolling, I guess.

Yeah. Don't troll me.

I don't see how that makes the Therapy version better, I guess.😕

analogharbor442 said:the whole point isn't just raw power or hitting you in the gut, like with Isolation😲
Isolation is basically just that primitive drum machine and a synth recorded in a fridge
p.s. they probably should've done "Diane" with all that heavy-hitting energy instead

Yeah, fair point.

Taylor Patel2 said:I don't really know who to compare them to—aside from their old bandmates from that ersatz indie label. Maybe Teenage Jesus or Malaria!, or a bunch of other stuff, but nothing hits quite exactly like this.

David put "I Feel Worse When I'm With You" on a compilation for Canada—it kind of reminded me of that bassline from Stinking Drunk (or maybe Big Money?), which was enough to win me over. 😍 😬

Listening to it now. Most of the others are pretty slow, though. It's good, just felt a bit mellowed out since they aren't all high-energy like the hit 😢

This lady is really coming for Lydia.

I mean, it’s pretty bad too—not quite on Diane's level, but still rough, I guess. 🙂

At your service!

Sex Change is just rules—it gets under your skin, and honestly, the more I listen, the more I dig it. I also appreciate they didn't overstuff it like they sometimes do. It's 11 tracks, all killer no filler 👍
Liberation still edges it out for me, but they’re definitely in the zone here. This one feels a bit more flamboyant—more for dancing, I guess. Still, I might complain that there aren't enough guitars. 🙂
Cowbell is there, though. 😁

favorites: North East Rising Sun - driving vibes 🙂
Conspiracy of The Gods - guitar !!! 🙂
Climbing up The Ladder - pure camp, my favorite track—that vocoder 😍
Walmart vs Target - a classic, just two absolute monsters holding down the drums 🙏 (sorry, gotta give credit where it's due)

One of the better bands on the planet right now, probably.

I'm with you—the noise just isn't hitting right for me either 🙂

it’s more about that rhythm, that hypnotic feel 😵 🎉

David Sullivan4 said:Whatever. If this group actually wrote like this... I might have given them a look. But I already blew my yearly budget on a week-long trip—so I guess I'll just gracefully pass.

How, where?

Edit: honestly, you're heading straight for burnout territory. I hate you. 😠 I guess Battles should just ignore Germany and England—maybe they could head further east instead. :c:
