What I’m telling you about hormones and antibiotics in meat isn't just some nonsense idea..
Unfortunately...

Look, you're totally obsessing over this specific whey protein. If you don't like it, fine—don't drink it. I don't get why we're making such a huge production out of this. You can't stomach milk? Great, stop drinking it. Now, what, are you going to write a whole manifesto every single time you have a shake just to report whether it was "good" or "bad"? Just eat three eggs instead of one protein shake. Or grab some deli meat. It's literally the same thing. Honestly, it drives me nuts when people start overthinking these tiny little things. Next thing you know, you'll be blaming hormones for your cellulite; apparently, nothing is ever quite right. Meanwhile, the rest of us aren't suddenly having issues with our steak, tuna, or chicken. 🙄

Amy Morris36 said:Meat is just loaded with hormones that we're pumping straight into our bodies, and then we act shocked when cellulite shows up... and all that other stuff...
Eating healthy, high-quality food is insanely expensive...

Oh sure, because meat is definitely the primary cause of cellulite. 🙂

Amy Morris36 said:If this is supposedly the "best" flavor, I can only imagine how bad the others must be...
btw...if I tried drinking this right before a workout, I’d probably end up puking my guts out...
I mean, it’s fine to just have it after a session... plus, it kills my appetite so much I can't eat anything else for a while

Look, just try a different flavor and stop overthinking the taste. There are tons of options from all sorts of different brands, and honestly, there are way too many flavors out there to even count.😬

p.s.
I used to drink the vanilla one from Optimum Nutrition, but hey, wearyotter81 tells you they have banana...

Linda Rogers88 said:What do you guys think about blending different types of protein—like mixing whey with milk proteins—compared to just using pure whey? Is it actually true that those blends absorb slower and aren't as good for recovery right after a workout?

Yeah, they’ll absorb slower, obviously. And as for the whole "recovery" thing? Give me a break. You’re still going to recover even if you don't shove a shake down your throat the second you drop the weights. It's really not that deep.

rustygull50 said:How am I supposed to eat six times a day when they keep me locked up at school like I'm in prison? I'd basically have to lug two pounds of fresh cheese, a couple of loaves of bread... maybe some fruit yogurt too. And do that every single day... :P
🤷

Look, you don't actually have to eat six times a day.

You're being rude and you clearly don't have a clue what you're talking about 😛

Alex Long8 said:Look, I didn't just put on pure fat, okay? It's not like that. It’s just more than what I was sitting at before... I'm nowhere near being "just fat."

I mean, if you're actually hitting the weights, you've definitely picked up some muscle too, surely. 🙂

Since New Year's, I've packed on about 13 pounds. Now that I'm cutting for definition, I've already dropped 4.5 pounds, and I'm pretty sure I'll lose another 4 or 5 to get back to my old body fat percentage. That probably means I gained maybe 4 or 5 pounds of actual muscle over five months. Things move painfully slow for me—there was a stretch where I was clearly just overeating, which obviously just led to gaining weight based on nothing but fat. 🙂

If you just packed on five pounds and everyone’s been cracking jokes at your expense, then honestly, you haven't gained anything at all.🙂

rustygull50 said:Look, I’m honestly training more than I probably should. I’m hitting about 15 sets a day—we're talking 700 reps with 15-pound weights, 60 pushups, plus three other dumbbell exercises—so yeah... I really need to join a real Gym soon because this routine is getting stale. But I'm still young, and I've heard stories that if you overdo it while you're still developing, you could end up with spinal issues that actually stunt your growth. A few of my buddies went through that, and I definitely don't want to end up like them.

Thanks for putting this meal plan together 😉

Man, your spine is gonna be absolutely wrecked from those 15-pound weights.

It digests so incredibly fast that it basically just passes right through your system immediately. 😁

It's absolute garbage 😁

Alex Long8 said:It’s actually the opposite for me—whey sends me straight to the bathroom. Sometimes it’s basically a race to see if I can make it before things turn into a total disaster...

Yeah, I went through the exact same thing the first few times, and honestly, a handful of my buddies dealt with it too.

rustyowl4 said:basically ---> you can't look at the world that way in general, because if you did, nothing would be safe to eat. There are harmful substances everywhere, additives, supplements, preservatives, etc., all over the place.

The thing is, generations are adapting to all these substances. Sure, they might be somewhat harmful to us right now, but for the people coming after us, it won't be nearly as bad—it's just evolution. The real question is how much they actually hurt us versus how much we've already adjusted, though I think they're far less dangerous than how coppersailor57 put it. Plus, what affects one person might not affect another in the same way. 🙂

For instance, personally, whenever I take Whey or other protein supplements, my digestion goes totally sideways; I get backed up and end up not hitting the bathroom for two days straight.

Christian Harris2 said:Yeah, I grabbed a tub of that stuff too.
The only problem is it gives me freaking clumps.😢
But whatever, screw it.
It’s not like it's gonna kill me.

Man, you really need to start shopping online. In this country, if you aren't buying through a screen, someone's definitely trying to rip you off.

Christian Harris2 said:Why is nobody replying to my post? 😕

Look, I actually used that stuff—the massive 9-pound tub, the gray bucket with the blue lid. I was mixing it up in my shaker and honestly, I didn't notice any weird clumps. I've heard rumors that they pack these things with glucose and all sorts of other junk, but who knows if that's actually true. All I know for sure is that I was farting like a pig and my digestion was totally trashed, which usually happens to me with pretty much any protein supplement, so I'm assuming there was definitely whey in there. As for how "pure" the ingredients actually were? Your guess is as good as mine.

I picked it up in Cleveland at that local health food shop over on Scholtz. It was imported by Nutrix out of Chicago.

mellowsurfer15 said:Is that soy protein actually any good? I saw some kind of soy granules at the grocery store today meant for making veggie patties. It’s got 50g of protein per 100g, which honestly sounds killer. I don't think many other foods even come close to that percentage.

And it bugs me that nobody here has even brought it up yet?

From what I've read, you really ought to steer clear of soy because it's almost always GMO, plus there's all that talk about it messing with estrogen levels or something, which supposedly tanks your testosterone—though maybe not for everyone.

Personally, I won't touch soy with a ten-foot pole.

Your body eventually gets used to how much protein you're throwing at it. If you're constantly slamming 100g in a single sitting, after a while, your system will actually figure out how to digest that 100g without breaking a sweat.

Thanks a million!

Be smart and don't buy anything at all. 🙂
