fadedgull42 said:I was dealing with a massive iron deficiency—honestly, I can't even remember what those units are called. Someone please refresh my memory, Carol Lopez23! 👍For me, it was usually around a 2, but if I recall correctly, the range for women goes anywhere from 8 to 30. Honestly, what would have happened if that number just kept dropping? Would I even still be alive?
Just to be clear, I was totally blacking out at the time. If nobody had caught me, I could've easily cracked my skull on the pavement or wandered straight into traffic. And honestly? That feeling right before you lose consciousness is terrifying. I had absolutely no clue what was happening to me—I genuinely thought I was dying.

So what’s the actual issue then, if you're eating the exact same stuff we are?

It’s not even about that. I wasn't eating it back then, and I'm definitely not eating it now.

There’s a lot of chatter floating around about his expertise, but honestly, seeing how he handles moderation, it wouldn't surprise me if the rumors are actually true.

Maybe because it’s the only lasting (and I mean *lasting*) change I made to my lifestyle back then? I mean, what else could have caused such an improvement besides what I was eating?

Okay, so you had a medical issue, which happens all the time.

So what's the actual problem here, if you're eating the same things we are?

Well, I don't eat exactly like you guys, though I do eat some of the same stuff. And about that anemia thing mentioned above:

Meat has nothing to do with it; I wasn't eating any back then, and I still don't.

Maybe that was the issue. I guess you replaced it with something else now, but maybe if you had been eating properly from the start, you wouldn't have had those struggles.

That stuff about his profession is just rumors, but, looking at how he moderates, it's pretty easy to see they might be true.

I just really hope you all realize that tightening up the moderation on the Alternative side is going to make it impossible to voice so many of the claims you're all making so easily right now, usually while tossing a snarky comment toward conventional medicine and natural science.

fadedgull42 said:It isn't a problem at all. I already posted about my own experience curing my anemia through raw food on the other thread. 🤷 So, this isn't about blind faith; it's about lived experience. Theory without practice is like a wheel without an axle!

Everyone views this through their own lens. Since you haven't experienced it firsthand, you feel like you have the luxury of deciding whether to believe us or not, and you assume the rest of us are just operating on faith too. But we aren't. We know. Because we actually did it.

Given how hard they're trying to stay stuck in their ways—despite having zero knowledge or interest in alternative methods, and being openly hostile toward them—it wouldn't surprise me if certain shady interests are pulling the strings behind the scenes. ☕

Message to the supermoderators: If you're going to keep BAT kolo around, at least make the new third moderator someone from the alternative community. Basically, the complete opposite of him: someone with actual knowledge, genuine interest, and someone who actually supports what we do. 👍

Thanks for understanding

Look, don't get mad at me, but anemia is one thing and leukemia is something else entirely. And please, don't lecture me on my own experience, because you—just like most people—are ignoring what I already said: most of my diet is unprocessed. I mean, how are you even supposed to "process" or heat up salads and seeds? For anemia, I'm sure you wouldn't blame meat, right?

And regarding the rest of the "complaint," it seems like Carol Lopez23's expertise is what's bothering everyone. Isn't it actually in your interest to have someone provide a correction when you're heading down the wrong path?

I don't get why you have to take everything so personally. What you linked isn't even malpractice or anything harmful, really.

Oh, and I should probably mention, I guess, that I actually ended up getting more heat from Carol Lopez23 over on Alternative than I ever did from Ryan Gomez4. If we're really going to talk about what counts as being tolerated or whatever...

Linda Harris44 said:Here’s yet another perfect example of how briskbison55 loves to stir the pot—twisting people's words just to get a rise out of everyone. ☕

No, honestly, I’m just letting you know straight up that I really don't care if people like you call me stupid, twisted, or whatever else. I guess it actually says way more about you guys, anyway... I mean, your actual contribution to this conversation is basically zero when you spend so much energy focusing on me and how I talk. What, should I go hit up Google to educate myself or something?
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Linda Harris44 said:It’s just not true to say that absolutely zero doctors see how possible it is to heal through a raw food or plant-based diet—not to mention you're also trying to deny that living on plants is even doable in the first place... Look, there have already been articles published over on the raw food sites about Dr. Gart Davis and his whole approach to plant-based living as both a lifestyle and a way to actually recover from illness, so I'm not going to bother dropping links here. Honestly, though, there's really no point in arguing with you...

Look, it’s not even about being a lifelong skeptic or constantly digging around and second-guessing everything... that's not the point. People who live on raw food—those vegans—they aren't really playing the skeptic game anymore, mostly because thanks to... Based on my own lived experience... People on a diet like this... they just know. They can feel when it's the real deal. You haven't even been doing the raw food thing for a week, let alone several years or... Thirty years... man, where does the time actually go? It feels like just yesterday we were dealing with all that old chaos, and now here we are... three decades later. Life moves way too fast... Look, it’s pretty obvious why you’re such a skeptic—and honestly, it doesn't matter if I drop an infinite mountain of articles, solid arguments, or real-life stories right in front of you... nothing is ever going to be enough. You aren't even here to actually learn anything new or engage with the topic... you're just here to shut everything down and troll... typical...

Look, you really need to deal with that massive cognitive dissonance you've got going on regarding eating meat and just stop derailing the thread... it's getting old. ☕

Man, you can just head off in the wrong direction and then you're stuck, unable to help yourself, and you end up finishing things in the most foolish way possible. So go ahead, keep searching, stay skeptical, question and re-question everything... but why on earth is it such a massive problem for some of you to actually share the results of those studies with others? Instead, your whole argument just boils down to "we believe this," or "just try it for seven days and you'll see," or my personal favorite line from skeptics who reject actual science—"go educate yourself on Google."

Just deal with your own huge cognitive dissonance regarding eating meat and stop ruining the thread. ☕

Come on now, you might as well just call me stupid directly. 😁

Ryan Gomez4 said:Here’s a classic example of trolling by swapping arguments: me and Gary Cox2 are talking about some guy eating raw food in Zurich at sunrise, and suddenly briskbison55 jumps in to talk about kids whose parents refuse to vaccinate them. I rest my case.

And honestly, does this thread actually have anything to do with how Carol Lopez23 moderates Alternative topics? Or did Elizabeth Jackson list three specific threads where I post, one of which happens to be about vaccinations? If we're supposed to just stick to one topic, maybe someone could tell Elizabeth Jackson not to confuse the poor people here. You call me a troll, yet you stay quiet when Elizabeth Jackson starts throwing all those different terms around at me... I guess it just shows that you’re okay with certain things happening over there too.
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, listening to this nonsense just triggers a visceral reaction in me. And when people keep repeating these baseless claims—even after actual, solid arguments have been laid out—it feels like they’re intentionally trying to get a rise out of people. I guess I won't name names, though, because like I said before, I don't want to keep going in circles.

Oh, come on now... what, am I supposed to act like I wouldn't care if I saw a kid playing with a kitchen knife while their parents weren't looking? Not vaccinating a child is roughly the same level of danger, maybe even worse, since it potentially impacts way more people. All in all, the complaints being thrown at me here feel pretty aggressive—ranging from outright lies to accusations that I'm being insulting or provocative. If you guys really feel that way, then maybe tighten up the rules, because then only the people you deem "desirable" would be allowed to post on Alternative.

And then it just keeps going in that same tone—just constant pushback, trolling, and zero constructive posts from Biljka112. After Elizabeth Jackson's article regarding curing things through raw food
Biljka112 commented

Just admit that because of your own ignorance, you didn't even realize raw cocoa was a thing.
After you commented on the raw food thread claiming raw cocoa doesn't exist, Elizabeth Jackson was kind enough to actually inform you and explain that it does... and you suspiciously had nothing to say to that. Now, here you are, bringing up that cocoa again on purpose.🥱

I mean, you can find plenty of internet "testimonies" out there. But I guess... is the entire scientific community, down to the very last family doctor, actually in league with some Illuminati group controlling the WHO? I ask because, well, I just don't see how any doctor sees a way for a cure like this to work based on actual facts. Dietary advice is one thing, but claims like these... they seem pretty strange, at least to me. I'm not saying it's impossible—the human body is a miracle in its own right, I really believe that—but maybe we shouldn't go overboard. If there weren't skeptics, there wouldn't be any progress, right? If people didn't ask questions, where would we even be today?

Just admit that out of pure ignorance, you didn't even know raw cacao was a thing.
After you commented on the raw food thread about how raw cacao doesn't exist, Elizabeth Jackson was kind enough to fill you in and explain that it does, to which you cleverly didn't respond at all, and now you're bringing up that cacao again on purpose. 🥱

Well, I figured it was probably better to just ignore it for a bunch of reasons, and this is one of them. As you can see, there are all sorts of opinions floating around the web; it’s funny how some people think their side is the only one that matters, while everything else is just trolling or an insult.

Ryan Gomez4 said:There’s a huge difference between asking a question and demanding research papers and proof after every single post. When you keep repeating the same thing over and over, it stops being a question and starts being trolling. And honestly, if someone wants advice on hemp oil, they'll get expert tips on this forum way faster than anywhere else. You clearly have no clue about this topic, yet you still managed to be insulting—don't forget, you basically called all of us posting there junkies.

Look, you know I’m not just some guy being targeted by one specific person who keeps asking me if I’ve ever actually left an argument in good faith... it’s just constant. It feels kind of pointless when people tell me that I'm valued—and yeah, I appreciate that, including you—but honestly, I have a ton of respect for most of the folks on this forum, even when we don't see eye to eye. And about the whole oil thing, I already laid out the distinction between what’s legal and what’s illegal, especially regarding those wrong claims people are making about how the oil is actually extracted. I guess I just want to be clear about that.

Gary Cox2 said:Maybe you’d actually bother posting or asking questions over on Alternative if the vibe wasn't so toxic and there wasn't some resident troll constantly breathing down everyone's necks..

Maybe I have a reason, maybe I'm bothering someone.

Please, tell me—how exactly does Pero Pero, who runs out to stare at the sun right after eating some raw food, threaten you or anyone else on this planet?

Actually, don't bother. No apologies needed... I just stated an opinion. Any more circling back or going in loops is just clogging up the thread for nothing..

I guess we all have different definitions of what trolling actually is. For me, making a claim without providing a single shred of evidence is just plain nonsense. But, before I write it off as total nonsense, I usually try to ask for a source first. Maybe that's just how I am.

So, tell me... how exactly is Pero Pero supposed to threaten you, or anyone else on this entire planet, just because he decides to run out into the direct sunlight after eating some raw food? I mean, seriously, what's the actual connection there? It seems kind of wild if you think about it.

🤦 I mean, isn't refusing medical treatment... I don't know, doesn't accepting what you just wrote feel like it might actually be putting a life at risk? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it seems that way to me, I guess.

Look, honestly... my bad, apologies... I was just... well, I was just sharing my thoughts. But if I keep going like this, just repeating myself and spinning in circles, I’ll probably just end up cluttering the thread for no reason. I don't want to spam everyone needlessly.

You brought it up right in your first post, and I guess maybe some people just grasp a certain belief instantly, but it didn't click for me at all. It’s just... I don't know, I'm genuinely curious where those claims actually come from. Like, what's the source for all that?
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Gary Cox2 said:Yeah, I'm dead serious... why are you dragging vaccination into this? I already gave my take on vaccines. The topic of vaccines isn't the same thing as raw food, not by a long shot.

Since when is it your business if someone wants to live on raw food or stare at the sun? How does that actually affect you, me, or anyone else for that matter?

Look, either shut down that PDF or leave it alone. But if it exists, then "Alternative" folks should be allowed their space there, instead of being "targeted on a daily basis" by people who just want to call them idiots, primitives, or frauds.

It’s just because Elizabeth Jackson keeps calling me out for the exact same stuff across those three threads, and it's all the same logic—it feels identical to what's happening here.

Why do you even care if someone decides to live on raw food or wants to stare at the sun? How does that actually affect you, or me, or anyone else?

And why does it matter to you that I have my own opinion on things? Maybe I have reasons, maybe it affects people, I guess. Some people want to stare at the sun or eat raw food, fine, but if the next step is declaring those topics "protected zones" on a forum that's literally built for discussion? On Alternative, you have people posting about metastases and asking where they can buy hemp oil because they "heard" good things.

I mean, either close that PDF or just leave it be... but if it exists, then the "Alternative" crowd should probably have freedom there, instead of having to deal with being called idiots or primitives or frauds on a daily basis..

Well, Elizabeth Jackson and a few others use those kinds of labels for anyone who dares to ask where their claims are coming from. But yeah, I think if a rule gets made saying an "Alternative" person can't ask questions on this forum, it's basically just proof that those people aren't capable of having an actual, reasoned conversation.

Ryan Gomez4 said:That bolded part applies to you first, considering how you attack other users both here and over on the Alternative board. You don't have a single constructive post there; it's just a pile of insults and denials. I used to post on the raw food thread all the time, but lately, I only show up here out of pure obligation, for the exact same reason as the user you quoted.

Why do you even care if it's raw or not? You're clearly not a raw food fanatic, let alone a hardcore purist.

Could you then, as a moderator, actually give me an example of these supposed insults? Like, where did I call someone an animal or mentally challenged or something? I honestly don't know what counts as a "constructive post" to you. I’m interested in actual claims, and obviously, an answer like "just try it for seven days and you'll see" isn't enough for me. Also, I did write that more than half of my veggies are raw, but that certain things—like broccoli or green beans, for instance—should probably be cooked, and I explained why. Isn't that a discussion? And just to remind you, on that specific post, I got comments like, "Look at this troll claiming broccoli is dangerous" and stuff like that.

If this thread is actually just about recipes and personal beliefs, then just rename it, because I definitely won't have anything to say in a recipe thread.

Linda Harris44 said:I’ve been following this raw food thread for a few years now. Back in the day, the vibe here was actually great—just a massive dump of useful tips and deep dives from people who had already made the jump to raw food. I even started sneaking a bunch of those delicious recipes into my regular diet...
Lately, though, I’ve been avoiding the whole thread because it’s become totally toxic. It’s pretty obvious that most of the regulars who used to post have gone quiet, and honestly, there aren't even many newcomers showing up anymore.

It used to be this sanctuary where people on a standard American diet would come looking for guidance on how to transition to raw food. You had folks like Elizabeth Jackson, Marec, and more recently Jason Grant, just dropping knowledge and sharing their life experiences because they genuinely wanted to help. It was all about mutual support, staying positive, and cheering each other on.

Given the atmosphere here lately, I’m not surprised the newbies stay away. You can’t even post a simple raw recipe or share some good news about recovering through raw food without some troll jumping in immediately to belittle everything you wrote and argue for the sake of arguing. It happens constantly... especially after almost every single one of Elizabeth Jackson's posts regarding actual positive stories from people living the raw lifestyle. It’s just exhausting, and frankly, I don't have the energy to keep reading it.

briskbison55 has basically nuked the thread, especially with Carol Lopez23 being allowed to moderate so poorly—it's completely ruined the Alternative scene here. I really hope they follow through with bringing on a third moderator, but they absolutely need to pick someone from the Alternative circles.

Honestly, it's just laziness. There isn't a single post like that here. People just warn you when you try to label something as raw food that actually has about as much in common with raw food as roasted peanuts do (or in this case, cocoa).
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Gary Cox2 said:What are you even aiming at here? The vaccination thread?
Vaccinations are mandatory in the US, and that topic should be handled as such. Sure, you can have an opinion, but calling for people to skip their shots should be treated like calling for someone to break the law. That needs to be sanctioned immediately, right from the jump..

But I’m definitely not backing the constant spamming of topics like raw food, sunbathing, or liver cleanses (lol).. Who does that actually hurt? Society? The whole damn country? Some random guy on this forum? If someone wants to live on raw food, stare at the sun, and eventually wreck their own health, fine, let them. Who cares..
It’s not like we hold debates or write entire manifestos on how smoking is bad in the cigarette threads, regardless of all the "proven facts and logic"—even though it is. Instead, people just swap stories about which brand of tobacco is smoother or which one to buy..

Look, it's obvious that you "alternative" types are posting total nonsense, so I'm feeling a bit 🤷 about you being a moderator for this PDF.. I'm trying to imagine an astrology group run by someone who falls for Facebook horoscope scams, or a pet forum moderated by someone who wouldn't even let an animal through their front door..

Are you being serious right now? These people are literally typing out that science and medicine are just slaves to big corporations, and that we should avoid them because everything can be cured using 'their' specific methods. Everything from vaccines to raw food to Chemtrails.

Look, it’s pretty obvious to me that you're getting fed nonsense by the Alternative crowd, so I guess I feel a little 🤷 about you being a moderator for this PDF... I mean, I try to imagine astrology being led by someone who follows horoscopes on Facebook, or pet moderation being handled by someone who wouldn't even let an animal in their house...

And when did "Alternative" become such a crazy term for just mindless babbling without any actual basis? These aren't "alternative" thinkers; they're just people denying reality. You tell them that vaccines almost wiped out diseases that were lethal until very recently, and they—in their "alternative" way—ask where you got those claims, even though official statistics from every major organization have stated it a million times over.

Elizabeth Jackson said:northernpilot2, personally, I think the idea of Alternative getting another moderator alongside bat and Ryan Gomez4 is a solid one. That being said, I want to emphasize and kindly ask that we look for someone who genuinely cares about this field—someone with actual knowledge, hard facts, and real-world experience. We need someone who, through their deep understanding of the subject, will be eager to help other members, share insights, swap advice, and actively engage in discussions , much like how Ryan Gomez4 used to do.
In my view, she did an excellent job and absolutely should continue her work precisely because she knows so much, lives this lifestyle, and was always right there in the thick of things, helping everyone out.
As for Carol Lopez23, I’ve already said everything I have to say on the matter and I'm sticking to it, though I’ll certainly respect your decision since there isn't much I can do to change it 😉. My hope is that the situation over at Alternative will finally start looking up.

If I could make one more suggestion, it would be to issue partial bans to those members who have been constantly and visibly provoking people or trolling the raw food and Chemtrails threads without ever contributing anything else useful. They haven't provided a single constructive post to any of these topics , which I assume you could verify yourself just by glancing at their posting history.
Specifically, I’m thinking of the user briskbison55.

northernpilot2, this weirdo won't stop bringing me up, and honestly, the way he writes here is exactly how he is in the Alternative group—zero substance, just endless litanies about people he disagrees with. It's all twisting words, planting ideas, blatant lies, and just repeating what others said to others like some kind of broken record. And this "constructiveness" he's whining about basically boils down to his eternal question: why are you asking me questions instead of proving me wrong with arguments? That is the textbook definition of trolling and destroying any meaningful communication, which he would totally ignore if his mouth wasn't so full of me and my posts all the time.

Alright, can someone please reel in this sudden burst of ad hominem attacks? Seriously, they aren't making any valid points here. I didn't call anyone a brat—I was just asking how much of a brat someone actually has to be to drag kids with leukemia into a debate. It’s honestly unbelievable, Elizabeth Jackson, but that kind of comment only insults the person who actually takes offense to being called a brat. It's just like those people who tell meat-eaters they should be eating carrion and dog food instead. Anyway, that's my two cents on this.

This alternative section has turned into a complete dumping ground for the forum. 😵

Here’s a quote from Carol Lopez23:

Quote : Nonsense
Nonsense deserves to be mocked. While you’re busy ignoring them, those people are actually trying to provide quality insights and make sense of things. By shutting out their logical points, you've essentially killed the conversation yourself. That's on you, not us.

I wouldn't say that. I mean, calling someone an animal or saying they're mentally slow... that's what makes it a dumping ground. But I guess those kinds of insults don't really bother you when they're aimed at people you disagree with, right?
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Ryan Gomez4 said:Unlike Elizabeth Jackson, I don't feel like combing through old threads to hunt down all the "lovely" insults you've tossed my way. Is there even one single post of mine on the raw food topic where you didn't respond with your signature style? By the way, more people have told you that raw food isn't a cure-all, it's prevention. And I've made it clear multiple times that I eat this way for ethical reasons, not health ones. Though, honestly, if people believe they can be healed by Our Lady of Medjugorje, why wouldn't they believe in raw food?

Are you planning to head over to the Religion board to explain their delusions to believers too?

I have no clue which insults you're talking about, but I definitely wasn't belittling you, let alone insulting you. Whether you combed through them or not, here are a bunch of links Elizabeth Jackson posted; unfortunately, she just doesn't seem to get them, so she keeps jumping out of context. But aside from that thing she keeps telling me—that I eat dogs—I haven't directed a single insult at anyone. Also, there are people over there claiming raw food cures cancer, and Elizabeth Jackson is one of them. That’s just dangerous, irresponsible, and honestly pretty crazy if anyone thinks that's a solution instead of conventional medicine.

Religion? I guess we can agree that someone's prayer isn't quite the same thing as rejecting science. Or maybe we can't, but I'm still not "showering you with insults." If you look at my posts before these two characters started unloading on me, I was just asking for clarification and explaining what I eat raw, what I don't, and why. It was just a conversation. Then the radicals showed up, claiming Aloe Vera heals everything from psoriasis to Parkinson's, and okay, maybe that got me a little carried away—but that doesn't mean everyone there is acting like that.
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, looking at what Elizabeth Jackson is whining about regarding my posts, I have to say I’m kind of impressed with myself. It’s wild how much schooling I actually absorbed, considering people are calling me an animal, someone with lower mental capacity, and worse. I’ve only really said something controversial twice—basically just pointing out that a certain viewpoint is idiotic and that only a complete jerk would blame life-saving vaccines for leukemia. There's just so much aggression and zero ability to communicate over on those vegan forums... but I guess that's just typical for people like us, right? The way they talk to us, like we're nothing but scavengers.

Ryan Gomez4 said:Look, nobody’s forcing you to read anything or post anything. It’s not like anyone’s going to stumble onto an FDA manual on pet care and decide all animals need to be wiped out, yet a huge crowd thinks it's perfectly fine to show up on the alternative sites just to mock everything being said.

I mean, that’s a pretty wild comparison to make, honestly. Like, when I ask why someone actually believes raw kale can cure them, you immediately jump to the idea that I'm going to go find a pet manual and call for animal extermination on another site. Who exactly is making fun of everyone? I haven't really noticed anyone on the alternative site just trolling. Most of us are just reacting to these... well, these really nonsensical treatises that get pulled out of context by people like Elizabeth Jackson and Jason Grant, and maybe the occasional other user. Because, I guess, most of the other people here—the ones I don't agree with—are actually pretty normal and know how to have a conversation.
BAT Kol and alternative moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Things have really gone off the rails here. I mean, how can anyone think there's an actual discussion happening with Elizabeth Jackson when people are constantly taking things out of context just to accuse others of ruining the debate?

Yeah, sure, I might crack a joke when faced with something totally ridiculous, but I always try to find the source behind a claim, no matter how wild it sounds. And look, if you want proof that Carol Lopez23 is doing a fair job—meaning she isn't playing favorites or protecting anyone Elizabeth Jackson gets mad at—just look at the last warning I got. It was completely uncalled for. Basically, some user told me that because I eat meat, I must be eating dogs. So, I replied that saying I eat dogs is an idiotic claim. And wouldn't you know it? Elizabeth Jackson jumped in to say *I* was calling someone an idiot. I only did that after being told repeatedly that I eat dogs and corpses and all sorts of other nonsense... I mean, who am I even supposed to read at this point? If they want to issue a warning, fine. If the moderator thinks I deserve it, then whatever.

To the rest of you who clearly have opinions on the alternativa scene but choose not to speak up—just move on. Honestly, I wish there were more intelligent people to talk to than the crowd claiming child vaccines are full of aborted fetuses, monkey blood, and heavy metals. I’d love to actually engage with people who could write a single coherent sentence explaining why they believe we're being sprayed from the sky. I’d love all sorts of things, but that's just not the reality right now.

And one last thing: if we're really scrutinizing this thread, please, let's ban all those ad hominem attacks that have nothing to do with the topics at hand. That includes my own comments too.
