Hot water alert! in Health ·
MalaSprda said:I’m definitely a hot water enthusiast myself—I practically turn my bathroom into a sauna every time I bathe. But about a year ago, at my boyfriend's suggestion, I decided to run a little experiment. I started showering with lukewarm—well, actually, pretty cool—water. And honestly? The results were nothing short of miraculous! My skin felt incredibly tight and firm, and even my chest seemed to lift or reshape itself somehow—I can't quite put my finger on it, but the look was fantastic!
At first, stepping into that shower was such an uncomfortable ordeal; it honestly required some serious mental prep just to face the showerhead... but eventually, I got used to it!
Besides, they say it's much better for your circulation to use cooler water... and for your skin, obviously!

Look, that all sounds great, but men generally aren't fans of cold water.😁 Don't even get me started.😁 😁

I remember back in middle school, my history teacher used to go on these long rants about the benefits of morning showers in cold water!😲 😲 😲
I'm clearly not quite that brave, though.

By the way, I don't think cold water is great for hair; it seems to make it feel stiff, almost like plastic. In warm water, it feels happy and bouncy.👍

And you probably don't handle heat very well now, given how you've conditioned your body to prefer the cold.
In my opinion, it's much better to be able to withstand the heat rather than the cold—after all, nobody wants to be sweating like a pig.😁 No offense intended, of course.

Sarah Miller26 said:I'm not sure if it's actually harmful, but it does dry out your skin—which isn't great for women, you know, from an aesthetic standpoint—especially when you're hitting sensitive areas like the chest with scalding hot water...

A little explanation wouldn't hurt here.
Personally, I think I look fantastic when I catch my reflection in the mirror—flushed and glowing—after a nice, hot soak.🙂

I’m not so sure about that. It used to be fine for me—really, I didn't think twice about it—but lately, I just can't stomach it. I can barely even take a long shower without feeling this tightness in my chest, like I'm struggling to catch my breath. There's this weird sense of anxiety and general discomfort that just hits out of nowhere...

You should try cutting back on the smoking, dear. ☕

boldeagle3 said:I can easily spend up to 20 minutes just soaking under a showerhead.
That is, until the steam starts making me feel lightheaded—or until the heat becomes a bit too much to handle. 😁

Honestly, I wish every pool and ocean out there was a steady 104°F. 😬

👍

There is something uniquely soothing about that hot water—you have this biting chill waiting outside, but inside your little bathroom sanctuary, it’s pure bliss, almost like the heat is melting your skin into soft butter...

Kind of like listening to Tina Turner's "Fog."😁

Kyle Nelson2 said:I honestly think this isn't great for us guys—or rather, for our future kids.

Oh, come on, Kyle Nelson2, don't be so dramatic. A little hot water isn't going to do anything to your—or our—equipment.😬>

hint:just stop sitting there with your laptop resting directly on your lap for six hours straight every single day, and you won't have any issues.😉>

frozencobra37 said:Sometimes during winter showers, I find myself gradually cranking up the temperature of the water. By the time I finally turn it off, dry myself, and go back to rinse the soap away using that same steaming water—it's only then that I realize just how scalding it actually was.

That said, since I haven't run into any health issues yet, I’d say it isn't really a problem.

Well, it hasn't caused me any trouble either.
As you know, things like arthritis don't usually show up until they've been lurking in the background for years—and then, bam! They hit you all at once.
But hey, hopefully we won't have to worry about that, even if we are essentially roasting ourselves like coffee beans...😁

Dennis Price58 said:Exactly—that’s what I wanted to know... I also feel like I'm suffocating in all that steam whenever I take a shower.😁

Isn't that just wild!😁

There’s nothing quite like letting a heavy stream of hot water pour over a tired head—just curling up in the corner of the tub and letting the warmth melt all the tension away. It’s my favorite way to unwind:

So, how healthy is it actually to take long, hot showers?

In any case, it just doesn't hold a candle to the real thing when it comes to actual chocolate.

Matthew Harris2 said:I honestly feel like my life is such a whirlwind right now—it would be a very short-lived experiment if I tried to quit smoking this second.
Once I get certain things sorted out and find some stability, I truly believe I'll finally be able to say goodbye to cigarettes for good.
👋

I’m right there with you. Hopefully, by the time we’re old grandfathers, things will have calmed down significantly—for now, I still get motion sickness on planes! 😁 😁 👋

If I had my way for just one day, smokers would actually get official credit toward their retirement! 😬

Megan Diaz33 said:At this rate, it feels like every third or fourth person you run into is going to be walking around with those blindingly bright, neon-yellow veneers.
I’ve never dealt with yellow teeth—not back then, and certainly not now.
Have you ever actually sat down and looked into the world of dentistry—specifically when it comes to teeth whitening?🙄

Jessel, have you ever actually heard a good joke before?
Well, I’m right there with you—I'm definitely on your side on this one, even if I am a smoker myself.😁👋

The whole "yellow teeth" argument is nothing more than a propaganda stunt—a clever little trick designed to steer us smokers toward the wrong track. They want to nudge us away from our habits and push us toward an alternative that’s arguably much worse: inhaling exhaust fumes from a passing freight train.😁

MacGregor said:Every single cigarette cuts your life short by about 11 minutes, 😢
whereas every orgasm adds 15 minutes back to the clock. 🙂

So, to all my fellow smokers out there—get busy if you want to live! ... 😁

And since apparently any bit of stress can trigger brain tumors, I guess I’d better go light up right now just to be safe!😁

But if you're a little too heavy? You crack the nut, shatter the bench you're sitting on, and trigger an earthquake so massive it shifts the entire rotation of the Earth.😁

how are you supposed to tell if someone is overweight or not?

Look, if they’re shaped like a square—or even worse, a perfect circle—then the situation is pretty obvious. ☕

Smoking is this terrible—yet wonderful—habit. There’s nothing quite like starting the morning with a massive breakfast, stepping out onto the sidewalk, and having that very first cigarette—that first beautiful moment, used sparingly before it's gone forever.
Some people just have a way of smoking that's pure art; they treat the filter like there's no limit, refusing to let a single wisp of smoke escape their lungs, ah, gold to achieve... my mother smokes like a pro... and if you take that the wrong way, well, honestly, screw you.🙄

Well, let Glumičić trim them down for you then.😛 😁

In all seriousness, though—who cares? At least you'll hear them coming when they start talking behind your back. 😬

And make sure you soak your hair thoroughly first—you really don't want to accidentally singe it off. Otherwise, you’ll get a very front-row seat to the horrified screams of your friends when they see you rocking a bald look instead.

The hair stays perfectly flat even before you've said a word.

Growing up, my mom used to drill it into my head: "Don't play with fire." I still take that advice to heart.😁
