So, let's not try to compare a serious discussion sub-forum like this one to some random thread on Reddit...
That’s really all I have to say about it, then 😁 Personal attacks and belittling people are both banned... honestly, if you used that kind of language in an actual post, you'd be getting flagged by the mods regardless of how you tried to justify it. There’s a massive difference between calling out someone for being a crook or a jerk, and the way you're talking right now...
And hey, when you start trashing the platform, you're basically disrespecting the moderators and the whole community too🙂
granitefox16 said:there isn't a single corner of this forum where you aren't allowed to rip into any institution you want...
It’s the same deal over at the legal offices. I mean, the wording might be slightly different, but even back home in the States, a post like that would definitely get flagged or sanctioned...

I log onto the forum, and what do I see? I've been banned.👎 I didn't want to start this thread earlier, even though this issue has been festering for ages. The main reason was that, just like slybison8, I simply walked away from the rule : Quote because I saw bans being handed out completely arbitrarily. Now, after jumping back into this sub-forum for a bit because of this whole debate, I'm running right into the same wall.
What I want to know is: why are moderators treated like untouchable royalty? I get it with the admins—they’re the alpha and omega here—but the moderators?! Come on, man. They're just people. Most of the time, the admins don't even know them; they just hand out mod status because they seem "nice."
So, I really don't get who this hostess is trying to impress? She's arrogant as hell, just like slybison8 said, acting with this childish "you're annoying me so I'm shutting down the discussion" attitude. That sub-forum isn't her private playground, even though she acts like it is. I'm not the only one who feels this way; I've talked to plenty of people who feel exactly the same.
Something needs to be done. And again, hats off to Vojky. I've clashed with him plenty of times in various threads, but he stays objective, and I respect that. I know he's in this debate specifically to make sure things run smoothly, just like they do in other sensitive discussions—you know, like those debates over the death penalty. But with this hostess? It's a total disaster.👎
I honestly have no clue why anyone would call this trolling or provocation or say it deserves a ban 🙄 The fact that you seem to think every single thing I post is an argument is totally irrelevant to what’s actually happening here... ☕

What does this even look like? A "Ask a Lawyer" column in the Arena?
One might also notice how, in response to the first question, Her Majesty the Hostess of Rules further confuses the visitor instead of providing a very clear answer that she surely knows (No, you don't need to go to the county office; you're mistaken, you need the land registry and the title for the property where you are registering your residence, or if it isn't yours, then you need the owner's consent to live there).
In some good old days, certain good old uncensored forum members would act educationally, and they would mock and embarrass this specific person so thoroughly that he would never again think of asking such a question under section 2—I mean, imagine him trying to travel across the border with nothing but a paper certificate. 🙄
But instead, we have a forum-like version of Big Brother: a hostess who stifles discussion, monopolizes the "advice," and performs a classic lobotomy on visitors—essentially dumbing them down.
Perhaps it isn't surprising that she became a moderator. The poor thing perfectly reflects the spirit of the times we live in.
Bravo, truly a stroke of genius, that conclusion... If you actually bothered to read, you could have just answered the guy yourself. I simply asked him what he needed, maybe he does have to deal with the local records office, how was I supposed to know...
As for that whole mess about forced pregnancy, what you guys did wasn't even a discussion, it was just straight-up bashing and trolling, even after Charles Thomas70 and I warned you all to knock it off. Do you guys need me to draw you a map or something?
Go ahead, keep on spitting venom if you want, it seems to be working out great for you... 👋

The paperwork says I have 8 days to file an appeal, but what happens if I'm running a little behind? Will they just toss it out if I miss that window by a day or two?
Nah, don't sweat it, they basically just throw those dates on there as a rough estimate...😁
look, just leave her at home if you're worried... seriously, if you get pulled over, you're looking at a citation because you're operating a vehicle without having your license on you, and honestly, even a little kid knows that's how it works 😉 it's not just common sense, it's literally the law here in the States.
I mean, do you realize stealing is also illegal, or did I miss that part of the lesson?
A bad apology 😁 and honestly, ignorance isn't an excuse... 😉 It’s just common sense that you can't get behind the wheel without a license, which is something pretty much every Uber driver knows by heart...
I mean, what if those aren't even the rules laid out in the stickied thread... 🙄 and honestly, the mods really ought to be following them too, you know 😉
And look, if we go by my logic, language majors wouldn't just be sitting through the legal portion of the exam either... 😁 To actually pass the International Chamber of Commerce exam, you really need to have a rock-solid foundation in English.
Could you maybe write up a bit more about the CPA credits? It would be awesome if people could find all the info they might actually need in one spot... 😉
haha... honestly, I thought you were talking about books 😁
The oral part at the International Chamber of Commerce is super short, and the examiners are all British 😁 the weirdest thing about that whole exam is that it doesn't even qualify you to be a court interpreter 🙄 like, you pass the legal English portion and they still demand you have a CPA🙄
Frank Walker7 said:It’s actually not 70, it's $93, at least according to what I've heard around town. And there are plenty of other options out there too... Is it demanding? For sure. But I've always found it pretty engaging personally.
crimsonsailor7, do you happen to have any openings at your firm?
Sorry about the mix-up 😁 I just double-checked my textbook, $55 and yeah, it comes with two CDs included. Which one are you looking at for $280? 😕 There are other books out there, obviously, but this specific one is the one approved by Legal Research, so everyone basically uses it and nothing on the exam falls outside what's covered in there...
No work coming my way from colleagues lately, I don't think my job security is in danger just yet... 🙄
The local university in Indianapolis actually runs an Indianapolis course, so you can find all the specifics on their official website.
You'll be studying from the Amy Krois Lindner book, and you should be able to pick up a copy at a local Barnes & Noble, I think it’s roughly $23. Definitely make sure to go through some of the older practice exams too... you can download them ovjde.
Honestly, the oral exam is usually the easiest part of the whole thing, especially if you already have a decent handle on the language... The real grind is just the sheer amount of memorization because the legal terminology is so heavy. My best advice is to just power through every single exercise in that textbook, even the ones that feel totally pointless or way too easy...
Look, you aren't going to know for sure until you actually try to spin up the instance, because we aren't psychics or anything... 😉 It’s most likely just an expiration issue, honestly, since it’s been way too long even by VPS standards...
Look, once the Military Police hands down a decision like that, you’re pretty much stuck—there aren't any more appeals or formal objections left to file. I'm having a little trouble following exactly how the whole situation went down on your end, but either way... there's just no way to challenge that ruling now.
