Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Kate James21 said:So, if she takes it Monday, she's unprotected without a condom until the following Monday; she finishes all twenty-one pills, takes a week off, and then does she restart on the third day after her period starts, or can she just take it on the very first day?...

No, listen, it doesn't even matter when the period actually shows up, man... she needs to have her period during that seven-day break, and regardless of how long that lasts, she always starts the next pack on the eighth day after the break ends.

Basically, it’s 21 days of pills, then a 7-day break, and no matter what's happening with her cycle, she gets back on them on the eighth day...

So here’s how she puts it: You can also kick things off between the second and fifth day of your cycle, but you better use some extra backup protection for the first seven days of that first pack of pills.

She counts them out normally, takes them for 21 days, then does a seven-day break, and starts back up on the eighth day, so basically, she’s always popping that first pill on the exact same day every single time.

Kate James21 said:That’s exactly what I was wondering about. So, if she starts it on Monday, how long does it take before she can actually be sure she won't get pregnant... and how does the counting work if she didn't start it on the very first day of her period?

thanks

Hold on, let me grab Yasmin’s guide and light up a cigarette, then I’ll give you the straight scoop... 😉

Kate James21 said:Are you kidding me? Like she should just start popping them. You realize this is the first time she’s actually putting those damn hormones into her system...🙄

I heard those freaking Diane pills are absolute garbage, so I really wouldn't want her messing around with that hormonal trash...🤷

And man, back in the day there wasn't anything else besides Diane, Trinovir, and Stediril, and women just dealt with it... so now you guys decide if she wants to stick with that or if she’s starting Yasmin on Monday, which means using extra protection for another 7 days.

Kate James21 said:Questioning things here... I haven't really encountered this situation before, but there's clearly something even I don't quite grasp yet 😬

Basically, a girl was on Diane... and now her doctor has suggested she switch over to Yasmin. We head into the pharmacy, and this absolute nightmare of a woman 😬 refuses to fill it because the prescription doesn't match... apparently, she hands out Yasmin to all her friends without a script, but suddenly she's playing hardball with us. Just a frustrated woman who isn't allowed to work on Saturdays, making everyone else's life difficult...

So, since she can't pick up the Yasmin today, I’m wondering if it’s okay to start the Diane regimen immediately, and then maybe just swap over to the Yasmin tablets on Monday... does that actually matter? Please enlighten me with an answer... hoping for a quick one...

I mean, why on earth would she mix them? Just deal with the risk for these next two days using a condom or whatever, and then starting Monday she can switch to the Yasmin properly.

Besides, you gotta take the pill from day one of your cycle if you want it to actually work immediately, so they aren't exactly candy, you know...
Female vs. male OB-GYNs: Any preferences? in Women's Health ·
So, I used to have this absolutely incredible OB-GYN back in the day, but sadly he passed away, and honestly, I’ve been seeing a female doctor for years now and she’s just as amazing.
In my book, what actually matters is the level of expertise, how they treat you, and whether they actually give a damn about their patients... the gender of the doctor is totally irrelevant.
So here’s the deal—my kid is in daycare and it feels like they’re constantly catching these Group A strep infections... it's just relentless. My pediatrician suggested that now that we've finished the round of antibiotics (Penicillin), we should go ahead with an Extencillin shot, and then about two weeks after that, we need to get some blood work done to check the antistreptolysin titer levels.
If you don't mind sharing, I'd really love to hear what you think about all this... I honestly feel like it's always better to get a few different perspectives before jumping into things...
Thanks so much!
👋
Hey, does anyone happen to know if this blood test can even be done while my kid is still finishing up their course of antibiotics? And more importantly, will the results actually show recent strep infection, or is it just going to flag that they had it at some point in the past?
I’m honestly starting to suspect our pediatrician shouldn't have jumped straight to the antibiotics if it was just some random virus, but here I am being a total idiot and just nodding along without insisting on a swab or blood work first...
Thanks!

Let me jump straight to the medical side of things! 😬

It’s basically when the foreskin won't pull back over the head, and honestly, it’s already become a real health issue...😉

Brandon Wells712 said:Has anyone here actually dealt with Dr. Latin Visnja??? I met this woman who was raving about her so much that I’m seriously starting to consider it 🙄. Apparently, her office is always slammed, so now......give me the real scoop on her!!

Look, I’ve been seeing Prof. Latin for years now—she actually handled my pregnancy—and honestly, the lady is just phenomenal. She does your exam, and then you actually get to sit down and have a real conversation, you know? You can ask her absolutely anything and she’ll just give it to you straight, totally down-to-earth and blunt, without all that medical jargon nonsense... It’s totally normal behavior considering how much other doctors look down on her, even though everyone raves about her work, but yeah, the waiting room is always packed. If you decide to go to her, just be ready to wait at least half an hour past whatever appointment time you booked, and once you're finally inside, expect to spend another thirty minutes there too... Basically 👍

And what exactly is so funny 🙄? For me, personally, morphine is, I don't know, way more intense than The Coca-Cola Company...😛
So yeah, if anyone actually knows their stuff, why don't you go ahead and give me a real answer...
Noah Vaughn3 said:Listen here, you absolute moron, you're just plain rude and completely brainless... honestly, I barely even saw my own mother during the war, and things aren't exactly getting any better now, so don't even start with me. And just so you know, I'm actually studying medicine specifically so I can one day help a slow-witted woman/girl/whatever the hell you are, but you're so incredibly obnoxious and full of yourself that you probably think you're the center of the universe... I seriously can't wrap my head around people like you, and clearly you can't understand me, nimblestag31, or Genghis Khan either.
here’s a little more class for you all (lKimberly Nguyen you're the only sane one here, thanks for not being a total jerk to everyone...) so why don't you all just go back to where you came from? I'm definitely done posting in this thread because some people here are just too insecure to face reality, not me.

Come on, honey, maybe try picking up a book or two to fix that tragic way you talk...😉
Noah Vaughn3 said:Yeah, obviously, she was actually the one behind all of this
Well, you definitely weren't wrong about how malicious she was in that other thread... I'll give her credit for that, I guess...

I'm starting to realize that in America, any total nobody can just breeze through college, but what’s even more pathetic is that these same nobodies are enrolling in med school too....👎

Anyway, leave me out of the "malicious" talk, will ya...😛
Noah Vaughn3 said:I swear, I must have earned this karma in a past life or something... honestly, it feels like some cosmic joke just to get stuck with this much trouble all at once... 🙄
My mom was literally the only anesthesiologist in the whole damn county for ages... I mean, can you even imagine the pressure? It was just her out there carrying the entire weight of the local hospitals on her shoulders while everyone else just watched... 31 miles Man, I am absolutely losing my mind right now... I live so far away from the hospital, and she was literally only there for twenty-four hours, just a quick stay, and before I even had the chance to get home and see the kids, they're already calling her back in! Like, are you kidding me right now... it's just completely ridiculous...
I mean, how can we even pretend otherwise? Let's be real, we’re all total softies when it comes to kids... everyone has that one massive weakness for them...

Where the hell is this even heading... and honestly, who actually gives a damn? 😕
Noah Vaughn3 said:for sure.. good luck to everyone out there in the future, and I really hope things start looking up, both on your end and ours..

You posted this exact same thing yesterday at three in the afternoon, and I see you still haven't given up on this whole thing...😁

Btw, all this stuff about war and hospitals, is your mom the one feeding you these lines? 🙂
Noah Vaughn3 said:well look at that, at least you're cracking a smile... if you actually are, anyway, see? even those guys have a purpose in life if they can make you laugh once in a while

😉
don't you worry, I'll always be hanging around just to keep you laughing :P

I don't know, I'm not from Washington, D.C... and I had no clue money was even part of the equation, plus there are clinics out there that aren't private...
and hold on just a second, are you actually trying to tell me that a more specific answer you get on some random internet forum is somehow better???
look, honey, if that's how you feel, then just drop out of school, quit college, stop watching TV or reading the news, and just get all your life advice from an online forum if it's supposedly good enough to heal people... maybe the guy behind the screen can magically eject a CD from your computer and reach through the monitor to pop that lump on your neck for you, or maybe he’ll have a stethoscope ready to check if you've got pneumonia... or hey, maybe he'll just toss a CT scanner under the desk and call it a day...

my computer doesn't work like that 😢

🤣 🤣 🤣

Yeah, because I'm sure that one non-private clinic where fifty people are crammed into the waiting room will just rush you into an exam room to give you all those detailed answers you're looking for.... hahaha 😂
Noah Vaughn3 said:God and the devil, or should I say God and a beatdown?
😈 & 🙂

Honey, you have seriously lost your damn mind...😂 😂you're totally out of line🤣

I wouldn't trust you to be a doctor, let alone have you treating me... 🙂
nimblestag31 said:- how do you interpret the fact that so many people on different forums are asking about illnesses, treatments, and diagnoses instead of just asking their doctors?

I honestly see it as pure laziness... just straight-up laziness. Like, take me for example—I’ll sit my butt down at my computer and type out a question here because it’s way easier than getting in my car and driving all the way to some specialist who might actually give me a straight answer right away... but hey, forums are fun, sometimes they're super helpful, and it's always interesting to hear what other people have gone through or what they think about something, even if it's medical stuff...

Oh my God, please, tell me... where exactly in Washington, D.C. am I supposed to find those specialists who are just gonna hand over concrete answers for free on the spot?🤣 🤣 👍
