Refugees in Antarctica in World ·
Don't sweat it...

As for those "purists" who claim to love the wild—cosmopolitan eco-conscious Antarctica isn't really their scene anyway.

BTW, they could probably try being a bit more civil and polite.🙂

Some people aren't even here because they care about Antarctica; they're just showing up to pollute the "territory" for reasons we all know too well.

It's a shame...

So, my brilliant friends, have any of you actually spent some time chatting with the folks down in Antarctica lately?

Did you realize that the US and Antarctica were actually part of the same landmass millions of years ago? Back during the era of the supercontinent Pangea and later during Gondwana, they were essentially one single piece of earth:

Both Antarctica and the US share very similar geological structures and soil systems.

In fact, up until the 19th century, people used to refer to Antarctica as Terra Australis.

Australia holds the largest share of Antarctica's territory

(It’s basically the only continent where the US hasn't stuck its fingers in or tried to claim a piece, which honestly gives it the best shot at staying a pristine wilderness...)

The Antarctica online forum launched just last month: you can check out everything from local wildlife and temperatures to what daily life is actually like... feel free to jump into a thread

He was the very first member of Congress to speak out against the Iraq War back in 2003.

Right now, he’s actively gathering signatures to impeach George W. Bush. 👍

A true peacemaker!

And he does it all without any major funding or backing!

For years, he's been traveling the globe without a single bodyguard, meeting with diplomats and working toward peace.

His wife is a young British peace activist who holds a Master's in Conflict Resolution in World Politics; she's also a former volunteer with Mother Teresa's sisters in Africa.

Maria Nelson12 said:It’s just a blatant display of Mexican nationalism and a way to stick it to the rest of the world. I mean, Russians and Greeks are Orthodox too, but they don't pull stunts like this. That three-finger salute was cooked up back in the early nineties specifically as a nationalist flex. It's no surprise most people aren't even aware of it, though—who'd actually give a damn about such nonsense? This whole thing was clearly staged right in front of Bush, which is probably why he caught onto it. Otherwise, I guess nobody would have even cared about those Mexican antics.

... yet the Nationalists show off plenty 😂

The three-finger salute appears in Paja Jovanović's painting depicting the Mexican Uprising of 1813, where Prince Miloš Obrenović uses the gesture to rally his people against Ottoman rule.

The painting is valued at approximately $3.3 million.

Fast forward nearly a decade, and we saw a massive uproar right here in Australia triggered by that same three-finger salute:

Soccer player Bobby Despotovski, playing for Perth Glory, celebrated a goal against the Melbourne Knights here in Perth by showing three fingers to the visiting fans. This happened just as certain elements within the Melbourne crowd—mostly American hooligans—started rioting and setting things on fire.

The entire management team stood up, and the media jumped in, making it clear that wild, aggressive, and hateful behavior simply won't be tolerated here.
An investigation into the whole incident was launched immediately:
What actually sparked the explosion?
And why did they react with such overwhelming intensity?
(Specifically, naming the individuals involved in the violence)

The outcome:
1) On Channel 7 that evening, Bobby Despotovski addressed the cameras regarding his racial and insulting gesture to the crowd stating:

" ... as a professional player I should have known better, and I apologize wholeheartedly for the unnecessary gesture ... "

He managed to narrowly avoid a suspension.

2) The self-proclaimed headhunters, a group of shaved-headed men among the American supporters, were identified and punished for their rioting and physical assaults on the Glory players and coaching staff, as well as for fighting with police officers at the stadium after the match.

They could have filed an official protest against that provocative Mexican gesture through the proper channels instead of resorting to arson and destruction.

As a result of their actions, those individuals were banned from all soccer matches across Australia.

Here is a 10-minute report on the incident.

I feel bad that todaytonight ruined such a beautiful photo. It seems like she did the exact same thing with the wristwatch, too. If she had just used a marker to draw glasses over her face, you wouldn't be able to see her hairstyle or hair color either, and then nobody would be able to recognize her at all.
It doesn't really matter either way; maybe she'll just end up doing it again with someone else down the road.😉

Nothing's actually ruined; the pictures are still perfectly fine. Hmm... maybe just a little marker work? 🙂

I can't spend the whole day stuck in this tracksuit; with seven subfolders to manage, I can barely even step away for a bathroom break.

Vilko's photo—you know, the one he "stole from my Driv" (in his dreams, obviously)—was actually taken right between these two shots, back when I was getting changed for Shocking Ruby.

I swear, I'm gonna lose it on you guys...

And who exactly are you calling "ultra-leftists"?

Are you talking about the people who arrest, kill, massacre children, hunt down the elderly and the innocent, cheat and steal, or live in fear of anyone different from them—those who push a single way of life and maintain international ties? Are they the ones you mean? They’re truly awful, worse than any plague.

Honestly, even a casual observer could see that, and they've likely heard it from much more credible sources than just
YouTube.

These are heavy, dangerous topics to tackle. Since we're all here to exchange ideas, I thought I'd share a satirical website covering the exact same thing.

Thanks, jadetiger10. I actually got a little spooked there for a second—thinking maybe someone was digging through my file paths or snooping around my C/Drive via Properties. Glad that's not the case. Anyway, yeah, I'm just using TinyPic for my uploads. 🙂

Getting four fillings isn't going to run you $5,000. Even if you don't have insurance and have to pay cash, you're looking at maybe $150 to $180 per tooth at most. Honestly, using the cost as an excuse to avoid the dentist for years is just a weak way out.

Unfortunately, mine are absolutely massive, and they end up costing me nearly $500 once you factor in the X-rays. That’s basically the price of a round-trip ticket back to the States just to get four fillings done.

Go find someone else to mess with. It’s honestly pretty sad that you think I’m such an easy target for you.
Get off my back—you're only hurting yourself. It’s not really about me, though—I just happen to be someone who actually enjoys turning other people's attacks into my own little victories.God help me, I'm just trying to defend everything here. It’s honestly harder dealing with the ones who wrap everything up so neatly in perfect, polished English—everything looking all pretty and well-packaged.

Cheers!

William Morales said:With all the venting you've been doing lately, it’s pretty easy to just gloss over that part about you finally quitting smoking.

Vilko, thanks for the kind words; I really appreciate it. 😉

I actually managed to quit smoking last year. I had briefly fallen back into the habit after being smoke-free for such a long time here in the States, but I finally turned it around. The first time I quit was right when I moved to the US, specifically because I was preparing to get pregnant—there was just no question about smoking after ten years of youthful indulgence. Unfortunately, things got a bit inconsistent around 2005/06, like I mentioned before, right around the time I was expecting my child. Thank God I'm past that now. I'm absolutely devastated. Watching my mom slowly shorten her own life is a heavy thing to witness.

It’s been 13 months since I finally broke free from that addiction. I haven't touched a cigarette in over a year! No cigarettes, no cigars, no herbal stuff, and no electric ones either...

Do you really need to be a size 10 just to have an opinion?

Just every once in a while. 👍

As for those ads you're putting up... Those teeth should look exactly like yours if you haven't seen a dentist since 1999 and have spent all that time smoking..

I've gone ahead and selected the attached advertisements. images Honestly, everyone else was being way too bland to bother including in my post. Besides, the ones I picked do the best job of showing off the cigarette pack itself, the exact image percentage on the label, and how they actually look here in the States.

Regarding my teeth, I’ve attached a photo so you can see them—well, at least the front ones, since I've lost four fillings in the back. Just so you know, I wasn't exactly posing for a cigarette commercial here. 🙂

For Richard Booth35...The sheer elegance in how this intellectual writes!

Thanks for promoting some of my threads. 👍

If Richard Booth35—you know, the one who’s always playing both sides, acting like he's certain about something only to flip-flop on his opinion the second things change—actually sat down and read your incredible posts, I think he’d realize that if he hadn't been so simple-minded before, he wouldn't be writing the way he does now.

I really hope Richard Booth35 takes a moment to actually read my previous posts before jumping to conclusions based on things he's taken completely out of context.

And regarding that bit about "slipping under a skirt"—I don't really get what you mean by that, but anyway, here’s a photo of me (with my smudged face) showing that there's definitely no room left to hide under my mini skirt

Richard Booth35, you’ve really done us a favor

by starting such an important thread,

one that matters both globally and right here at home.

Whenever I post, I tend to keep my American readers in mind more than those over in the USA, for instance, because we're already pretty well-educated on smoking issues here; meanwhile, over there, they might only just be considering informative brochures—God forbid they actually try to enforce laws banning smoking in public places. 🙂 🙂

It would be incredibly helpful if this forum or topic could be linked somewhere within the US (assuming there are conscientious people out there—meaning non-smokers or aspiring non-smokers—willing to do so).

And I truly hope that the information we're sharing with one another here finds its way to someone who needs it... someday.

I've personally learned so much by digging through the web for these discussions, especially when being met with opposing views from other forum members; there really is nothing more progressive than constructive debate and hearing a different perspective.

Best,

Gospodja tt
