Sam Diaz2 said:I'm not sure if you realize that video editing actually requires more horsepower than gaming. These builds definitely aren't hitting that mark. The big question is, what's your actual budget? If you can't run an Ethernet cable, I'd highly suggest looking for motherboards with built-in WiFi...

Look, this is just a motherboard. I'm not talking about heavy-duty editing; I run Pinnacle Studio on my laptop, which only has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz 1.19 GHz, and it handles things fine. I'm just not sure how much room there is for upgrades down the road...
As for the internet, could I just plug in a USB wireless adapter?
My budget is around $3,000–$3,500, including a monitor.

I've been browsing some desktop options over at Protis and Instar. I don't really need a beast for heavy gaming; it's mostly for work—running Photoshop and some video/photo editing software...
Also, do these models come with built-in Wi-Fi?
Any help picking between these would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Lately, I’ve been having trouble sending emails through Mozilla Thunderbird. I use a Gmail account, but every time I try to send anything, it just keeps prompting me: Enter your password for xxxxxxx@gmail.com on smtp.gmail.com. Even after I type in my password, the prompt just pops right back up...

RAM upgrade for Dell Inspiron 15 in Laptops ·
wiredotter14 said:It should work. The main thing is ensuring it's DDR3 SODIMM

Just make sure you actually have an open slot available. It’s also a good idea to try and find a stick from the same manufacturer that matches the specs as closely as possible, though it isn't strictly mandatory...

Got it, thanks 👍

RAM upgrade for Dell Inspiron 15 in Laptops ·
I'm looking to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 15 from its current 4 GB of RAM. I'm a bit stuck on which module will actually play nice with what's already inside... any advice on what specs I should be looking for? Right now, I've got a 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz, SO-DIMM 204-pin stick installed.
Thanks 🙂
Best apps for adding text to images? in Software ·
You can just handle it online, or if you prefer, grab a free program. Here’s a link to an online editor where you can upload your photo, make the edits, and then save it back to your computer.

I’ve scanned some text from a physical document and I'm looking to clean it up. I tried using OpenOffice, but it’s just not giving me the results I was hoping for. I need to be able to cut out certain sections, swap in new text, and maybe scale down an image... I'm wondering which program would be the best tool for the job.
thanks

He doesn't need to be hunting around the house; that means the guy from the local precinct is doing just fine...🙂
What’s the actual advantage to hunting from a greater distance? I'm asking because I don't know much about the subject...
I’m looking to move some data back and forth between my phone and my computer, but I have a feeling there might be a few other tools or methods out there that I haven't considered yet...

I don't want to clutter things up by starting a whole new thread, but I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a Bluetooth adapter for my PC. Looking for something reliable that won't break the bank

How to make Windows XP look like Microsoft in Software ·
Haha, I know it’s not quite on the level of Vista, but honestly, the interface looks way better than plain old XP.
I noticed Windows 7 is available too... might be worth giving that a spin.🙂

MKV format in DivX? in Software ·
Just encode it to MPEG-4. There’s really no point in converting it back to DVD if you just want to lose quality in the process... and honestly, why download an MKV file in the first place if you can't even play it?

I've run into a bit of an issue with Windows 7...
I installed Windows 7 and used a win Key I found online during the setup process. I entered it, and the activation went through just fine. Everything worked perfectly, and I’ve been using the system without any issues for several months now—I was actually quite happy with how stable it was... But suddenly, I'm getting a notification saying my Windows activation expires in three days and that I need to reactivate it. I've already tried messing around with different keys and even some cracks, but nothing seems to work...

I'd really appreciate it if anyone here knew how to fix this issue, and I'm curious if anyone else has run into the same thing...

Thanks in advance...

Hey... 😁

Here it is...
I’ve been thinking about getting my hands on some old software, specifically an ISO for the Windows Seven 7229 Language pack ISO. I’m trying to get a specific setup running on an older machine, and finding the right version feels like a bit of a scavenger hunt lately. Has anyone here managed to track down a reliable source for this? I'm looking for something that hasn't been messed with—just a clean file that actually works when you try to install it...
How to hardcode subtitles into a video? in Software ·
Rachel Anderson59 said:I really need some help here. I tried looking through the IT tutorials, but nothing seems to work for my situation. Basically, I have a massive collection of movies stored on an Apollo external hard drive. We recently picked up a new Samsung LCD with a USB port, and being able to watch everything through the Apollo has been amazing—the picture quality is easily three times better than what I was getting on my laptop. The only issue is that the subtitles won't show up. Even though they're embedded in the same file as the movie, the TV just doesn't recognize them. It doesn't even give me an option to select them; it just plays the video. I'm looking for a tutorial on how to permanently burn subtitles into the video files. Every program I look up suggests things like Avisub, VobSub, or Subtle Workshop, and I'm honestly lost... 😕😕 I need a way for the subtitles to play directly from my hard drive on the TV, similar to how they work on my computer where they're already part of the image and don't require extra steps... I'm so eager to get this sorted because I have so many movies I haven't had the chance to watch on a tiny 14-inch laptop, and now that I can see them on the big screen... I just need those subtitles...
🙂

Take a look over here; there might be a solution already posted. If not, feel free to ask again...🙂
