Praying too loud? in Law ·
Jeremy Flores10 said:A little bit of general knowledge regarding what time religious studies actually starts in elementary school.
I grew up near an inlet, so I know they aren't holding mass at 6 in the morning.

General culture🤣

I have absolutely no idea what the situation is like in the Inlet, but 6 AM masses definitely happen.
I spent four years at a Catholic high school, and every single nun who taught us was present at every 6 AM mass... verified... firsthand.😉

Jeremy Flores10 said:It sounds like you're mixing up the bells that signal the start of the day—usually between 6:00 and 7:00 AM—with church services.
The lady who started this thread claims there's a 6:00 AM service and she can hear it over the speakers.
That’s just not possible. Mass is never held at 6:00 AM on a Sunday or any weekday (unless it's right around Christmas).

Look, I get it. I’d lose my mind too if a bell was clanging right outside my window at 6:00 in the morning. I’d definitely be filing a complaint under the noise control act. It makes zero sense to be that loud so early. If certain people need to roll out of bed at 5:00 AM to start their day, that's on them. I don't see why everyone else's day has to officially start at 6:00.

It isn't impossible... I just don't understand how you can be so incredibly certain when you claim you aren't even a "religious type" yourself.🤷

And no, I am not confusing the sound of the bells with the Mass.😁

None at all!
I figured. Honestly, I'm not even much of a religious guy myself.

Are you absolutely certain about that?

Just checking in. Tuesday marks three weeks since my procedure. No clue what I weigh—not weighing myself anytime soon. As for food, I’m still basically in training mode :-) A few days ago, PMS hit me like a truck and I was inhaling everything in sight. Then I went through this phase where I wanted that balloon out of me RIGHT NOW. Thank God I can't just swing by Nikolica's office and demand they pull it, or just pop it myself, because it would probably be out already :-) My mental state is a mess. I don't know what happened, but all day long it was just: get it out, get it out, get it out. The next day I still felt like pulling it, then by the third day, I was back to normal. Definitely PMS or some kind of neurosis, who knows what to call it 🙂 Dealing with the reality that nothing happens on its own. Food just stops moving once it hits the balloon, so I realized this whole thing is going to be way harder than I thought... But! One optimistic "but!" I am changing my habits! Even if I just break even, I'll still consider it a win!

Anyone got meal ideas that aren't total garbage?

What was making you want to get it removed? Were you having issues with nausea or something?

I really don't get why my post was deleted. 🙄

How on earth can you be so certain it was exactly that specific day?😕
mistyranger51 said:I don't know... I'm talking about what happened in Cleveland regarding those balloon procedures. Maybe look into it? You could just call the gastroenterology department at Cleveland Clinic to get the real story straight from the source—you know, instead of relying on hearsay.
Back when they first started doing the implants, that was the price people were seeing in the papers.

You've got a point there, thanks. 👍
mistyranger51 said:it's not about the cost of the balloon itself, it's $2000. And honestly? Whether you can snag one for free if your BMI is higher—I really have no clue.

I’ve heard stories where the total amount—what you pay out of pocket plus whatever insurance covers—ends up being three times higher than what you actually see on the sticker.
mistyranger51 said:They perform this at places like Cleveland Clinic too. It’ll run you about $2000. My only concern is that once they pull the balloon out, the weight tends to creep right back on. Maybe you won't have that issue, but you really need to be careful

How exactly do they calculate the price? Is it based strictly on BMI?

Since it’s supposed to be reductive, it ought to actually work 😉

Oh, please, nothing is "starting"🙄

My question is completely valid here... if she actually liked those people at one point, why can she suddenly claim with such absolute certainty that she would never have slept with them?

Don't you dare project your own assumptions onto me.😉
I don't recall ever suggesting her behavior was "unhinged."

It's a different matter entirely if she feels the question is too invasive—that’s her right, and I respect that.

Paul Morales3 said:As of right now, I don't regret a single thing... if anything, I'm actually glad I exercised some restraint instead of rushing headlong into things or acting purely out of spite, because if I had, I'd be feeling pretty miserable right now about having slept with people I only had passing whims about at the time.🙂

Why on earth 😕

Maybe I’m just overthinking this, but I honestly don't get why she would feel that way 🤷

I have no interest in exhausting myself by jumping through hoops just to satisfy someone else's definition of what "normal" should look like.😍

Look, there is a massive difference between 'throwing caution to the wind just to satisfy someone else's checklist'... but honestly? 'Holding yourself back just to please your mother' isn't all that different. 😉
Down the road, you're going to look back and regret everything you missed out on because you played it safe.
Believe me, I know from experience, unfortunately.

Paul Morales3 said:When you're dealing with something deep-seated in your own psyche, physical distance isn't going to fix a damn thing. 😉

It definitely won't help, that's for sure.

Besides, why wouldn't it? If you aren't being bombarded by her opinions and ideas every single day, and if you don't have to report back to her every morning just to say where you were and what you did... then yeah, that kind of space can actually be a lifesaver. 🤷

I'm honestly terrified that the only real way out of this mess is to create some distance from her
just for a bit—maybe during the summer or over the holidays—and then eventually just move out entirely.

Eventually, she’ll probably stop living rent-free in your head, too.

Wait, you’re seriously suggesting we look at those prices? Give me a break. As far as I can recall, the rates back at CCA were actually pretty standard—nothing out of the ordinary for the market. But let's not pretend this is "normal." It's just how things have always been handled there. $500-2000
Hannah Scott69 said:I checked out Dick's Sporting Goods—all they had were those cheap camping pads. I hit up TurboSport and basically every single sports retailer from the local mall to downtown and even over by the big shopping centers. Absolutely nothing.
😢

I actually took a look at Nike for you... they don't carry those thicker, padded ones anymore
but they do have the standard yoga mats
👍
