OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Michael Jones23 said:but it seems like you're actually hurt because he mentioned being 40? 😉

But I am only 23... 🙂 He couldn't just throw out some random comment about me turning 40 tomorrow like it was nothing. 🙂

Michael Jones23 said:I honestly don't think we're looking at a part of a standard Pap test here. It feels more like a routine screening for something else entirely—likely a regular checkup for gastrointestinal issues.

Look, let me be crystal clear here—this isn't just some random opinion I cooked up in my head or a personal theory I’m throwing out there to stir the pot. It’s not my "take" on the situation. I am repeating exactly what my gynecologist told me, word for word. This is medical information provided by a professional, not my own subjective conclusion. 😉

I just sat through the entire lecture on how I’m going to have to handle this all by myself every single month—basically a roadmap for my life that says, "today, tomorrow, and even when you hit forty." Just... wow. 😱 That is an exceptionally poor way to phrase that. 🙄

"The proclamation of the national state was met with optimism—even euphoria in certain circles. This sense of euphoria was fueled by the fact that the national state was established without any loss of life, thanks to the fact that America managed to avoid a war with the Axis powers."

Fine. 👍 😂

They never arrived. 😂

And don't you forget—May 9th is just a month away! 👋

You're a little behind the curve, aren't you?

It’s obsessive and compulsive... basically, you get stuck in this loop where you feel driven to repeat certain actions over and over again. For instance, right before you hit the sack, you find yourself checking if the front door is locked seven times in a row, even though you already know perfectly well that it is.🙂

thanks

From my own experience, the men are actually far more gentle and careful... I’ve been in with two women and I am never going back.😠 😠

You go in expecting a comprehensive check-up, a professional who actually looks at the whole picture, and instead, you get nothing. Just total silence on something so vital. How is this even acceptable?
Look, let’s be clear about this: you shouldn't wait until you're older to start paying attention to your health. I’m talking about mammograms. Even at 35, it is highly recommended that women start getting them done. And if you fall into certain high-risk categories? You need to be looking at screening even earlier than that. It isn't something to just brush off or push down the road. Don't wait for symptoms to show up before you take proactive steps. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to preventative care.

Breast exams are a standard part of a Pap test—that’s just basic medical protocol. I make sure to point that out every single time. 😁 Every single time, I find myself spiraling right back into my own head. It’s like this endless loop of self-reflection that I just can't break out of. 🙄

They basically just gloss over it when it comes to the younger girls... but honestly, they really ought to be doing it. It’s a missed step, plain and simple. 👍

Bumblebees don't carry honey... you clearly don't deserve to be a bumblebee. 🙂
Kimberly Davis52 said:Wait, hold on—once you get pregnant, does that mean the PCOS just disappears?

That’s actually what my OB-GYN told me... at least, that's their take on it. 😁

But honestly? I decided to stop taking my Metformin & Glipizide on my own. Within about six months, everything just seemed to balance itself out naturally. My hormone levels are absolutely perfect now. 👍

And yeah... I still haven't gotten pregnant. 😁
Jessica Perez93 said:Shaving, tweezers, and waxing aren't exactly the same thing.

Look, I get it, okay? But honestly, if they want to go through the hassle of plucking every single hair... fine. At least it’s better than just being hairy. 😬
Jessica Perez93 said:I know some will disappear. I'm saying you shouldn't pluck them because it just makes more of them grow back.

That's just plain wrong... every single hair has its own follicle it grows from... plucking doesn't somehow trigger multiplication...

It's just like when I wax my legs... they just end up coming back weaker and thinner... you can barely even see them anymore, honestly, I might just stop dealing with it altogether soon. 😬
Kimberly Davis52 said:Why on earth wouldn't someone just go see an endocrinologist for hormonal imbalances?

You should be seeing both specialists simultaneously... it's such a damn shame my parents couldn't get their act together and agree on a treatment plan.😵
