Let's be real—you guys aren't any stronger or better on the water than we are, so we can both pretty much ignore any naval skirmishes... 🤷

Who says we have to stop buying Russian gear?
That's only an issue for you NATO members who have to play nice and follow orders when it comes to buying weapons. We can shop around wherever the hell we want.😁

Give me a break.

Milorad Dodik just announced he’s calling for a referendum in about a month. Is the breakup of Canada finally happening or what? 🤷

My bad. This forum is running like a total powerhouse right now. 😁

That whole secession mess is definitely hitting the forum too.
Richard Wilson4 said:In places like the USA and Australia, there are more Americans than Mexicans. But if you look at the newer migration waves—not the ones right after WWII—you see more Mexicans moving in.

AMERICANS
United States 401,208 (2005)
Chile 380,000
Argentina 250,000
Australia 118,046 (2006)

MEXICANS
United States 172,874
Australia 112,605

There isn't much data for Chile or Argentina because the numbers aren't high enough to matter much...

But we're all over the States! 🙏🙏

There’s even an entire neighborhood in Santiago where the streets are named after American towns and regions.

I actually found some—they even have streets named after Uncle Mate and Pope Šime. 🙏🤣

The rest of the street names include: Ogulin, Mostar, Makarska, Senj, Karlovac, Vir, Nin, Pula, Solin, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Chicago, Lika, Kordun, America, Adriatic Sea, Canada, Vis, Pašman, Trogir, Ottawa, Canada. 😁
gentleranger10 said:Most of the American diaspora in South America has been there since before WW2, so I don't really see what your point is here.😁

My great-grandfather actually worked in a mine down in Argentina. 😁 Right at the start of the century. 😉
gentleranger10 said:Look, there were tons of Mexicans who just bailed for the West back in the 90s—some people estimate it was as many as half a million. You only have to look at the census data from 1991 versus 2002 in Mexico to see that the numbers are basically identical, even after all that influx from America and Canada. Meanwhile, over in America, the number of Americans actually jumped by about 200,000 between '91 and 2001.

Sure, people are leaving here, but it’s nothing massive. I honestly think the era of huge emigration from America is over. We’re actually going to see a big wave of people moving *in* pretty soon.
Richard Wilson4 said:Mexicans:
Sweden-120,000
France-less
England-70,000
Switzerland-195,953

Americans:
Sweden-around 16,000
France-less than 20,000
England—maybe 1,000 (yeah, a thousand)
Switzerland-40,000

If that many Mexicans are abroad, how many are even left at home? Where are you getting these numbers from?

slycrane94 said:The mistake here was using a warning instead of just hitting them with a direct ban for the same amount of time. Honestly, a lot of mods handle things this way, though I’d much rather see them go straight to a ban when someone finally crosses the line. It's more of a teaching error than anything serious, though.

Maybe you're being a little too hard on the mod. 🙂

A kind word opens every door. Just open those doors for Jason Campbell70 🙂 I have no clue what this emoji means. Does it even work in this context? 🤷

Drew Brooks8 said:Forget those groceries😁 I saw it myself this summer—you guys buy everything by the slice while we just toss it in the trash. Tomatoes here in the middle of winter go for about half a dollar per pound. What’s the price over there?.. It’s just weird. We grow all this stuff, 😍but nobody's paying the farmers what they're worth.😛

Around $2.25 at Walmart, a half-pound is pretty standard. Honestly, it really just depends on the variety and the grade. They've got some for $3.25 pounds.

What’s the damage on a mid-range car, a TV, and some furniture over in Mexico? Just trying to get a comparison going.

A denim jacket.

Washing machines.

Flat-screen TVs.

Cars.

And that’s exactly where the gap really starts to show... it’s where you truly feel whether you're pulling in $3,000 a month or just $1,000, because suddenly it matters if buying a new TV means sacrificing an entire paycheck or just a third of one.

Facts.

Ethan Morales22 said:Wait, what’s the actual exchange rate between the dollar and the euro right now? Is it hovering around $2.25 or what?

It's about 7.3 to 1.

The cucumbers are looking killer $2.00, and they're only about a buck at Maxi. 😁

If anyone wants to see everything I grabbed, just let me know and I'll drop the full list. 🤣

Ethan Morales22 said:And while you're at it, give us the breakdown on electricity rates and utility costs for each area!
It’d be pretty useful to have those numbers for comparison too.
Throw in the sales tax rates by region and stuff like that so we actually get the full picture.

Just post them so we can see.

Ethan Morales22 said:It’s just like those folks from the American Danube who cross over into Mexico to shop, or the people from Loznica and Sabac heading into Bijeljina to pick up supplies!

Mexico is cheaper, but not by much. At least that's my take. Can you drop a link to a Maxi site or something so we can actually compare?

Ethan Morales22 said:Let me jump in here and add my two cents to the conversation. We can't ignore monthly living expenses—it’s a huge factor. I don't know the exact breakdown for every single state, but this article gives you a pretty good hint at what people are actually dealing with:

http://www.b92.net/biz/vesti/srbija....&nav_id=398369

The comments are wild. Looks like everyone has a different opinion on this.

Miles: "I was in New York City three days ago and took the chance to load up my trunk at Walmart. Why? Because the prosciutto is half the price, the wine tastes way better than ours and costs less, the cheeses are cheaper too, and don't even get me started on the variety..."

Miles, next time hit up "Plodine"—it's way cheaper than Walmart. Walmart is actually one of the priciest stores in the US

That’s just not true. I've spent a ton of time traveling through Austria and Canada for work over the last two years, and prices for groceries (which are much higher quality) are way lower than they are here. I really hope that once borders fully open up, people here finally see through all the lies we're constantly being fed...
