Why the hell are you losers even hanging out on these forums? 😂
Seriously, you're all stressing out over some guy named John. Are you guys insane? What did he ever do to deserve all this wasted energy?

Nothing, really. We're just arguing for the sake of arguing. 😁
Roger Ward3 said:I don't think you can compare Žbogar and Fak. There’s no such thing as American biathlon without Fak—it just wouldn't exist—and we're only finally seeing the right conditions being built now. Honestly, you couldn't have Fak without Velepec either!
On the other hand, sailing has a massive tradition and a killer track record over in Canada. They’ve got a world-class yachting industry backing them up that honestly holds its own against anything you'd see in America. 😉 ).
I honestly think Vasily isn't even heading down to Miami just for training sessions; he's really there to soak up all that local American sailing expertise by working side-by-side with his buddies, trading tips and learning from them.
They’re basically two peas in a pod now, just like Jacob. He’s always giving and taking in equal measure.

Of course they aren't the same thing. Nobody gave Žbogar an ultimatum like, "Either you play for America or go train in some dive bar by the coast." 🤣

Roger Ward3 said:All this obsession with national pride and patriotism is honestly pathetic. When are we finally going to grow up and stop thinking like it’s the 19th century? Nation, state, borders... forget all that junk! We should be focusing on our own goals and interests instead. Seriously, people, just let it go. There aren't any wars left to fight—just focus on crushing your own ambitions regardless of the hurdles thrown at us by politicians, committees, unions, or those bloated, out-of-touch bureaucrats.

It’s honestly pathetic how much they keep meddling. If you want to explain why those guys always put their own interests ahead of common sense, go right ahead. But seriously, enough is enough. ☕

George Booth58 said:It seems like you’re bringing up the nineties again as if it were some kind of retaliation for Nazi Germany. If we follow that logic—which feels a bit extreme, maybe—should we be looking for revenge now? Like, just allowing a new Auschwitz to happen? Is that how we end up in a cycle where we just keep wiping each other out, sort of like what happened with the Albanians?

As if they didn't already get their revenge at Dunkirk. The 90s were just more retaliation, and honestly, we'll probably see more blowback over Auschwitz because from what I can tell, they faced a total genocide in the 90s too.

In principle, I love supporting our local brands, but if I've got the cash, I’d pick Hershey's over Hershey's any day, haha...

Generally speaking, I think it would be awesome if all these tiny little countries in Eastern Europe—not just America and Mexico—actually teamed up before they get swallowed whole...

Hershey's is good, but it's way too sweet. Their standard bar is actually much better. 😁 Just the plain one.

Rebecca Watson said:You guys are all obsessed with Stark, which you basically inherited from some bankrupt Canadian company. 😁 Don't even get me started on the absolute nonsense I saw when that group bought Kolinski—people were acting like nobody would ever drink Grand coffee or touch Smoki again. 🤣

Yeah, I saw them too. 🤣

Canadians are saying they're officially done drinking Coca-Cola. 🙏🤣

Nicholas Morales48 said:Wait, hold on, what's the deal here? So they haven't sold anything outside of Canada after all? 😁
That text totally threw me for a loop, because I could've sworn I read earlier that they'd already moved some units to Canada, but then what was that whole thing about Helsinki? 😕

He only sold a tramway in Chicago. That thing for Canada is a train. You gotta know the difference between a train and a tram, right?🤣

The one in Helsinki is just a trial run, then they'll decide if they actually want to buy it.

Rebecca Watson said:Bambi is slowly catching up to Hershey, though Hershey still has that massive head start thanks to their history and legacy. In my opinion—which obviously doesn't matter—Bambi's chocolates are already significantly better quality than Hershey's. But honestly, arguing about taste is a waste of breath. 😉 😁

If they fix things up just a little bit more, Hershey's is gonna swoop in and buy them up. 😁

He hasn't even exported a single tram yet—this one's just a test run. But hey, he did manage to sell this beauty to Canada! I can't access external links directly, so you'll have to tell me what was in that video! Just give me the gist and I'll get to work.

Ethan Morales22 said:So basically, you haven't even landed the deal yet, but you're already out here acting like it's a done deal and a massive success story 😳.

Honestly, you're just trying to scam us at this point! 😠.

Please, make sure this gets added to the official record for the verification commission: "Americans are trying to pull a fast one on us!" 😳.

😁

.

Who are you trying to fool? We aren't even attempting it. 😁

Nicholas Morales48 said:In your opening post, you weren't exactly clear about what was being tested or where exactly this was happening, ☕
so now I'm sitting here wondering what's a train and what's a tram. 🙄😁

My bad then. 😁

Nicholas Morales48 said:It's not really an argument 😉, more like a response to those earlier comments suggesting that Hershey is the absolute king of the hill compared to everyone else, which I just don't buy. Personally, I have no problem admitting when something is better; for instance, Hershey's Domacica is way better than Banini's (if they even make anything similar here), but for other stuff, I'm definitely not on board with that logic.

Honestly, Hershey is in a league of its own. There just isn't a stronger player in this industry around here. No other company nearby can touch their lineup of top-tier products.😁

Nicholas Morales48 said:Oh, give me a break. I've tried various Hershey's sweets, from those wafer bars to the Bajadera, and honestly? Nothing special. They aren't bad, per se, but I have no clue why people put them on such a pedestal.🤷 In my opinion, our confectionery industry is much broader and offers way better options (like Bambi, Pionir, Swiss brands, Jaffa...); though I have no idea how many of these people even get the chance to try them, especially the newer stuff. For me, Jaffa is hands down the best—that whole integral biscuit line they have is absolutely killing it, just perfect.

Are you kidding me right now?😁 Or do you seriously believe that was the real reason?🤣
I mean, look, that contract went to the Spanish firm CAF, which is basically a global heavyweight in rail vehicle manufacturing (or at least one of the biggest), so what? Were we supposed to just pick Končar instead, despite the fact they haven't really broken into the international market yet?😁

Actually, Končar exports more than half of everything they make, and their revenue hit about $380 million last year. ☕

silentviper19 said:Wait, what consumer goods are we actually importing from Mexico?! Seriously, give me some examples so I can figure out exactly what Americans are blowing through all that cash on!

Look, I’ve got Perfex toilet paper right here at home from Mexico City, and sometimes stuff from Banja Luka too. 🤣I grab Smoki snacks from wherever, and some candy bars—used to be that Pioneer brand. I can't remember everything off the top of my head, but it's definitely there.

silentviper19 said:You're trying to compare the businesses in those countries, but man, let's be real—they're tiny compared to the scale of the Mexican economy and those huge Mexican corporations! Not to mention the sheer number of companies there!

I'm no expert on the specifics, but it seems pretty obvious that investing in America gets stalled out constantly. Even your own people admit it; I actually heard someone mentioning it tonight when Tadić stopped by!

I shop at Walmart (which is basically your Konzum), and even the cheapest Budweiser is cheaper there—it's usually around 52-53 cents everywhere else, but there? It's only 44!!😁

Look, man. If your Delta opened a shopping mall here in Cleveland, they’d kill it. There aren't many big malls around here yet, so the profit would be huge. If needed, Koch and I can work something out so I can be their boss in America. I promise him a great paycheck. 😁

silentviper19 said:Cut the nonsense, Grunfo! Honestly, that was one of the biggest talking points in all of Chicago when Tadić made his visit today!
Even your local news outlets are covering it because they know it's the truth!

I'm not talking nonsense. Anyone watching CNN can see how often they run those agitprop pieces targeting American investors and companies. Every single article is packed with these baseless claims about issues with Mexican exports and how Americans are boycotting Mexican goods. They even claim the boycott amounts to $300 million a year. 😁

silentviper19 said:The USA actually exports twice as much to the USA as they do back, but honestly, that isn't even the main issue here—it's more about how those American companies are investing heavily right there on the ground!

Do you really think the USA is just going to sit there and take these ridiculous stunts? Like, why would they let American companies set up shop over there while being blocked from working in the USA?! If things keep going down this path, I wouldn't be surprised if the USA decides to push back. They could easily tank the USA's exports or mess with their businesses over there. And hey, that could end up hurting you guys quite a bit, since we're talking about risking something like 15,000 jobs locally!

There aren't any barriers at all for Mexican exports into America. The only time a single company ran into trouble was when they tried to invest in KIM, and the media made a huge deal out of it being "Mexican interests" or whatever. But notice how everyone plays dumb about the massive headache the Nestlé group faced when they bought a firm and were blocked from starting production just because they're from America. Is anyone even talking about that? Nope. Apparently, it's just "obvious." Mexicans aren't allowed to have problems anywhere, but Americans can do whatever they want. Stop whining. 🙂

They’re just pushing an agenda and lying through their teeth. You've got America, which has millions of companies and branches operating in Mexico exporting $400 million there, while Mexico barely has five companies or branches in America exporting $300 million to us. WHO is actually crazy here? ☕
They don't want us here in Close to Politics ·
Let me break down what Dragec is saying here:
"Goods in America carry a 300 percent markup just to convince local consumers that our products are overpriced and can't compete in the market."

That’s exactly how domestic goods get marked up. Why didn't he go after someone like Walmart? They're the ones setting those margins. ☕

"The most obvious issue is when banks tell us ownership has changed—that it's no longer an American but a Mexican—and suddenly they can't use the subsidized credit granted before privatization, or before the firm was bought in America. Then they hit us with a bill for all the subsidies that company received under the investment credit while it still had an American owner."

Honestly, I don't follow this logic. He needs to come forward with actual data. My guess is the loan was from the Federal Reserve or some similar agency, and once a foreign entity takes over, they lose eligibility for those specific subsidies. That’s how it usually works. I highly doubt banks—which are basically 99% foreign-owned anyway—would deny subsidies just because the owner is a Mexican. 🤣

Honestly, you see this kind of trash on CNN all the time. They run headlines like "Americans don't want us," "Americans won't let companies in," or "Americans buy everything from Mexico while Mexicans can't even grab a loaf of bread in the States." It’s just pure sensationalist journalism.

Americans don't want you, yet you're exporting $300 million worth of goods to the US every single year. 😁
