I think I read just one review like that, maybe from some guy at Rolling Stone, but I'm not entirely sure. From what I've gathered, pretty much everyone was more or less happy, haha
Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Terrane, but my friends were there and they were absolutely thrilled. They said they sound exactly like the record, if not even better.^^

At Terrane, reactions ranged from people going "they fucking killed it" to me and a few others who felt it was a total snoozefest 😁 just incredibly boring (one friend who’s a fan was stoked, though some other fans seemed totally meh)

I guess I'll go check them out just to see how they handle this kind of setting; maybe they aren't cut out for outdoor festivals. I really should revisit their albums, because my memory of the second one is stuck being this bad, dull thing. I have no idea how this new stuff will land. Plus, we'll get to see the opening act.
the legend of Tarzan in Movies ·
I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet. I just heard that Alex is starring in it, and honestly, at first glance, I didn't think he was exactly the right choice for the role. Maybe I'll change my mind once I see it, I guess. Though, I really don't feel like going to the movie theater at all. 😁
I caught an interview where Jim Carrey was talking about how the industry just goes through these cycles. Basically, some actor lands a hit, everything becomes trendy overnight, and everyone starts obsessing over it endlessly. That’s pretty much what we're seeing right now with all these superhero movies.

Personally, I've never been that into superhero flicks, though I guess I've sat through a few of them just to stay current. To me, the whole genre feels like pure mass production—it's got this heavy vibe of "let's just churn out a movie to rake in massive profits."😁

Bawring.
restlesscobra11 said:That’s just how it is. I guess nobody actually expects them to book acts like The Rolling Stones or Pearl Jam and expect to be ranked alongside Glastonbury. Maybe they just don't have that level of ambition.

Ha, some people actually expect that. They’re being totally Delusional about it, I guess. 😁 That’s exactly why I focused more of my commentary on the budget.

Honestly, this lineup is fine by me, mostly because I don't really have high expectations to begin with. They could have actually pulled it together with some decent names for this year, but I think we all know exactly what we're getting into if they bring out Franz Ferdinand again. 😁

The tutor and Jonathan were added.
Coachella has a much smaller budget compared to some other major festivals, so I guess it’s just unrealistic to expect even bigger names. Like they themselves admitted, there’s no way bands like Radiohead or Coldplay are showing up—you’d have to hike up ticket prices immediately for that kind of lineup. Plus, the capacity at Central Park is way more limited.
Woohoo! Florence + The Machine. 😁 I heard they were in talks with her, but she’s so pricey that I wasn't really expecting them to close the deal. 😁

This is enough for me. 🎉
Well, I suppose if anything, we'll end up going to Placebo. 😁 They've announced Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
The intermittent downpours just won't quit today. 😍

I hate this weather.
I love animals. Especially when they're served on a dinner plate. 😁

(for the record, I don't particularly care for animals, nor do I hate them. I've never owned a pet and frankly, I couldn't care less. boo hoo)
Jason Gonzalez7 said:What does "accepting different opinions" actually mean?

Is it just liberalism, an ideology of tolerance, or simply leveling the playing field in our digital democracy?

What does it truly mean to "accept" something in this context?

And what qualifies as a "different" opinion—does it mean things that look similar but aren't necessarily right or wrong?

Can a "wrong" opinion even be called an opinion?

We could approach this from an epistemological standpoint (though we might just end up going in circles),
we could look at it ethically or religiously (in terms of those core spiritual axioms that exist when two people truly understand one another),
we could tackle it politically, which would probably be most effective...
or we could just look at it through the lens of this forum—I'm sure many of you have been stuck in a debate where someone used this exact cliché to shut things down.

What is that supposed to mean? I log onto this forum, open a thread, and maybe I see someone rambling about how Bog created the entire universe. To me, that is just incredibly stupid—that’s my opinion, anyway—but on the other hand, I accept that the person (regardless of what I think) has a different view, and I leave it at that. I don't even bother getting into a debate about it (not that I want to), I just recognize we disagree. That's it.

*captain obvious to the rescue*
I used to be able to pick up those Katjes Yogurt Gums back in Chicago, but they’ve completely vanished from the shelves. I guess they just stopped carrying them, or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. Does anyone know if they're still available anywhere else?
How to handle arguments/confrontations in Psychology & Therapy ·
Honestly, very few people actually get under my skin, so I don't find myself getting into arguments with them much. I’m just not the type of person who enjoys fighting—it's incredibly irritating, I guess. If a disagreement does happen and someone says something out of line, I don't take it to heart. I can't stay mad at someone for long after a fight; I move past it pretty quickly.
Pretty bad, honestly. You’ve got New Order sounding like they're on their deathbed, barely even singing. Then there's Franz Ferdinand, who just seem to be churning out the exact same album over and over again—is this the second or third time? I skipped Mando Diao entirely because I just couldn't be bothered. As for Gogol Bordello, I was done after two songs. And Gorillaz Soundsystem? 😂

It's a damn virtual band. It's such a pathetic situation that they can't even bring out a real band that actually exists, so instead, they bring someone who does a tribute to a virtual act? General Elektriks is just terrible.

But hey, it keeps the masses happy, so whatever. 😍

If it were up to me, I'd book some newer names that aren't so overpriced (and just because they're newer doesn't mean they have to be hipster garbage ; ))

But seriously, booking Franz Ferdinand for the third time? Lol.
Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
Mark Foster said:Well, I believe healing can still take place even after His passing. You really ought to spend some time reading through the Bible... specifically the Epistles and things of that nature.
It’s often said that the amount of healing you receive is directly tied to the depth of your faith... what else can one truly say about such a thing? 🙂
After all, why would God choose to perform a healing specifically for you?

So, that's it. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. 😍 Beautiful thoughts. div>
So disappointed in my best friend!!!! in Psychology & Therapy ·
Well, then you can just deal with the fallout if you refuse to stand your ground with her. I guess you don't really have any other choice.
Lynch's The Elephant Man in Movies ·
I watched it, but I don't know, Lynch just never really clicks with me. 🤷I didn't exactly walk away with any strong impressions.
Neil Armstrong (1999) in Movies ·
That was actually an excellent film starring Jim Carrey, even though he isn't usually my cup of tea. He really proved himself in this role. I thought Courtney Love was pretty solid in it, too. Is Kaufman even still around? Doubt it. Not that I really care, though. 🤷
Underrated Albums in Music ·
Well, most of the Pulp albums, Max Richter - The Blue Notebooks, Amon Tobin - Foley room, Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport, Trentemøller - Into the Great Wide Yonder, Sneaker Pimps - Bloodsport, port-royal - Afraid to Dance, Bersarin Quartett - Bersarin Quartett...

And all that other nonsense too.

They’re fantastic, and I actually just listened to them again recently. Anyhow, Road to Nowhere.<3
