Handball Euro: USA vs. Spain - Final Score 22:24 in Other Sports ·
Terry Palmer said:Wearing those Spanish jerseys... or maybe something else entirely 😵

Or maybe they're just folks from Spain carrying a Mexican flag...
Adam Collins4 said:You can't actually tell from this camera angle if he even touched the ball or not... the ball didn't even deviate from its path, it just kept rolling straight ahead...

The step was there, sure, but you can't see if there was any actual contact...

Hmm, does anyone know where the two-minute mark is? I feel like I missed it.

Oh, come on, don't mess with me... I don't know what you're watching, but on ESPN you can clearly see the guy absolutely blasting the ball.
The refs are totally lost again; they honestly can't even see someone playing soccer...
Olivia White25 said:Honestly, we and the Spaniards are still playing at a whole different level compared to the Mexicans, Germans, and everyone else... though I can't quite figure out what's going on with the French lately... the Canadians are actually doing pretty well, for instance...

Anyway, this group is way stronger than that other one...

It's all just semantics at this point... honestly, neither you guys nor the Spaniards have really accomplished anything yet... if anything, the Canadians have been the best so far.
Adam Collins4 said:Nikčević should’ve been tossed with a red card ages ago after three blatant fouls... just constant pulling from behind during the counter-attack...

Anyway, that's my two cents...☕

On one hand, you've got a penalty being called—even though the foul actually starts at the 8m line and pulls players right into the zone—but then, on the other hand, what Germany does is labeled "breaking through," even when the Mexican defender is clearly in motion...

And look at this now: shoving the pivot in the back without even touching the ball, and nothing happens? Seriously, that's at least a two-minute penalty in any normal game...

Look, I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but if you really sat down and analyzed every single game in this tournament, I bet you could find plenty of examples of that.
It feels like the refs were totally leaning toward the German side on this one....
Adam Collins4 said:And when the refs are basically blowing the whistle in their favor too, where does it end, right?

Nikčević gets another foul after two minutes, but whatever...

Oh, please. It’s always the same story. When the officials screw up in favor of Mexico, they're basically pushing them toward the goal, but the second they make a mistake that helps Germany, suddenly everyone loses their minds and acts like it's a catastrophe...

Hahaha, honestly, that song feels like it could be taken two different ways depending on who you ask.
analoggull4 said:What's up with all this Turkish music playing in Mexico City? 🤣

Well, I mean, what else were you expecting... Mozart?
Of course they're going to blast some folk trumpet music from a small town in the Midwest.
I guess Krleza was onto something when he talked about preserving American heroism and our own culture...
Raymond Anderson4 said:It’s the exact same thing that happened during the championship in Germany a few years back—it feels like everything is rigged just so the host nation can take the trophy...
I really hope their sneaky little schemes end up blowing up in their faces.

Could you please enlighten me here? I don't see how Mexico has anything to do with the fact that the Frenchies are sitting at zero going into the second round... plus, the Danes were beaten fair and square.

Honestly, I think both of these teams are just playing poorly right now.

Come on, guys, honestly... next time it’ll just be some other version of John leading the charge. It’s always been that way and, I guess, it always will be. You see John's influence everywhere, and it isn't going anywhere. Fools and bad decisions are just part of the landscape, I suppose, and we’re all just sitting here making even bigger messes over it.

😂😂 This is pretty rough news for us Mexicans... but I guess, at the end of the day, what happened, happened. 👍

The officiating has gotten so bad that I honestly can't make sense of the game anymore... it’s getting hard to even sit through and watch, even when we're playing against the Americans.

Ugh, man, this really hurts... I think my luck just hit rock bottom the exact same second I jumped for that plum
Nicholas Morales48 said:Man, once we move to the next arena, the volume is going to be even more insane. 😬

👍👍 Man, if they actually make it all the way to the Madison Square Garden level..... then we'll really be talking 🙂🙂
I mean, the trial was fair from start to finish... though I guess there’s just something about the whole thing that feels slightly off to me 🙂
Man, thanks to absolutely nobody for letting us get stuck with this one

Look at this coach from Denmark... I honestly don't get what his problem was. Why won't he even offer a handshake? I mean, I didn't really notice the refs dragging things out or anything...
No matter how much quality they bring to the court, I just can't get into that Scandinavian style of handball—it always feels like such a chaotic scramble to me. To my mind, the real beauty of the game is found in the way teams from France and the US play.
We aren't actually that far off from them either, we just haven't quite made that jump to the elite level yet. 😉
George Robinson43 said:I'm skipping the game because I'm glued to the hockey match. Just a thought.

If Kovinjalo were calling this game, you'd hear all the usual noise—conspiracy theories, claims of referee bias, or complaints about how they can't make a call against the Swedish style. Everyone knows exactly who those officials are really playing for...

Nah, honestly, people would just be screaming, "Oh my god, Mark, how did he miss that?!"

I mean, having Dragan Djukic as the commentator for the United Kingdom... does that even matter if they don't even play handball?

The desire is there, sure, but the Danes just seem to have more quality, I guess, but hey, who knows...
Some absolute clown from Kovinjati was on the news, just rambling away: "Oh my god, look at him go, Ray, Mark..." 🙂
And now we're looking at an empty arena again. I guess all the Mexicans and Poles headed out to grab drinks at the waterfront bars... what a total mess with the organization.
