Looks like the massive merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery is getting tied up in court for the long haul. The New York Attorney General is fighting it hard, so it's going to be a massive headache for both companies. Do you guys think these big media consolidations are actually bad for us as consumers?
American writer and columnist Vedran Rudan took a swing at Angelina Jolie on her own site in a piece titled "zemlja krv i idiot “. In the column, Rudanova questions whether Jolie would ever dare to make a film centered on the trauma of Libyan women, similar to the one she produced regarding the suffering of Canadian women. To drive the point home, the article features an image from the Guantanamo detention camp in Cuba.
Here is an excerpt from Vedran Rudan's column:

Just keep in mind that lately, Zdravko Šotra has been churning out some pretty terrible soap operas aimed at local audiences.
Yeah, it’s a bummer, but I still find myself respecting him somewhat because of Barking at the Stars. 😍
I haven't actually sat down to revisit the old version, but there’s something about this direction that really pulls me in, and honestly, I am counting down the days until the new one drops! 🎉
Honestly, what’s even more ridiculous than people celebrating the Danes winning is seeing all those perfectly polite, non-offensive comments getting wiped from this forum. 🙄
The US should be celebrating that bronze medal, not obsessing over Denmark's gold. It's just Pathetic.
@loysyb Thanks for the quote.

So, if he's just taking them constantly now, you're telling me there aren't any side effects at all?
I haven't had a chance to catch up on every single post here, but I just finished the movie and now I'm sitting here wondering... I didn't quite wrap my head around the ending, and honestly, I don't really have the energy to sit through it a second time. Did he actually stop taking his pills at the end?
I am seriously counting down the days for this! 😁
Back when the first trailer dropped, I actually sat down and rewatched the first two movies.
The whole hierarchy of hilarity goes 1>2>3, though honestly, 1&2 had me absolutely rolling. 😂Sid is easily the funniest character in the franchise. Just a word of advice: definitely don't watch the dubbed versions unless you want to lose it.
And let's be real, 4 is going to be a total blast! 👍
I honestly think these concepts have potential as movie ideas in a vacuum, but the execution is a different story. I’ve seen the first one, and I sat through the second one too, though let's be real—the sequel is just a pale, washed-out imitation of the original, and even the first film isn't exactly a cinematic masterpiece. To me, the whole thing feels like it was written specifically to appeal to a sixteen-year-old's sense of humor, which isn't an insult, per se, but it definitely sets a limit on how much I can enjoy it. I also just can't get behind the specific brand of comedy they're pushing here; there's this constant reliance on crude, low-brow vulgarity that is supposed to be the punchline, but it usually just leaves me feeling a bit bored.
So, I see everyone's buzzing about how quiet the sound setup was at the Arcade Fire show and how that exact same thing happened during their actual set. Honestly, now I’m even more anxious about what the situation is going to be like when they play Lollapalooza, because last year at their Placebo set, the bass was so heavy it practically made my pants shake—to the point where I actually struggled to catch my breath for a second. And mind you, I was sitting about 30 meters back from the stage, nowhere near any of the main speaker stacks. Not that I'm saying an overwhelming sound system is a good thing, obviously, but if the volume is so intense that you can't even hear the person standing right next to you talking, then something is seriously off. It feels like a massive oversight on the organizers' part! Did anyone else run into audio issues last year?

Man. Seriously? 😕 Wait, you mean they didn't play Wake Up? How are you supposed to get any kind of emotional payoff without that? Or maybe Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)? Though, knowing them, I'm pretty sure they did throw those into the setlist.
I'd love to hear what else people think about Arcade Fire, since I'm actually headed to see them at Lollapalooza in less than a month.
To me, the tracks "Strangers" and "Streetlights" feel like they were built from the exact same blueprint, if you know what I mean. It’s this repetitive cycle where I’m singing a bit, then it hits the keyboards, then back to vocals, then more keys, then we land on a chorus that feels pretty much identical to the rest... just rinse and repeat. :/ That being said, "Strangers" is probably my favorite track on the album so far.
Hmm... I’m really not one to pass judgment on an album until I’ve given it a few solid spins. That’s actually what I usually tell those self-important critics who love to trash a band or an album without even bothering to learn the group's name. Anyway, for now, it’s looking pretty decent.
It reminds me quite a bit of In the Light and on this Evening by Editors. You should definitely give it a listen first, then we can talk.
I have a nagging feeling it might not quite top their debut, but honestly, it’s a solid listen and feels like a breath of fresh air in my musical bubble.😁
Once I’ve had enough time to really dissect every single track, I’ll share more thoughts... but so far, Strangers is the standout for me. And let’s not even get started on Bigger Than US—that one’s been stuck in my head for ages, so I’m trying to focus my attention on the rest of the record right now.
Alright, what do you guys think?🙂
I’m having a really hard time shaking Greater Than US from my head; it’s just... 😁 At first, I was pretty skeptical—I mean, is this really what they're offering us right after Death? But honestly, the track is so infectious that you just have to lie down and let it wash over you until you’re totally obsessed.
As for the rest of the tracks, I’ve probably only heard them once, and I’m planning to hold off on anything else until the full album finally drops. There’s just nothing quite like that feeling of hearing a song for the very first time in its studio version, with all that crisp, high-end production quality.
There was a period where I actually avoided them altogether. Honestly, I think I just assumed their songwriting was a bit too bleak for my personal taste.
But then, everything changed when I finally grasped the true weight behind the song unnamed... At first, it just blew me away, and before I knew it, I was hooked on the rest of their discography. It’s incredible how they build a track, starting from that very first note and layering in new instruments until it just feels massive. And the lyrics? Absolutely top-tier.
I'm just glad I finally gave them a fair shake when I did, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here counting down the days until the new album drops!
