But don't you think you might be missing out on a lot? A look can say so much, don't you agree?😲
I’ve got a deeper, slightly raspier voice. I’ve noticed that when I’m answering questions, I actually get a better reaction if I pick up the pace a bit. It’s like people subconsciously assume you know more about the subject if you talk faster. It's an interesting little quirk of human psychology. 😲
The voice you hear in your own head? It isn’t the one everyone else is hearing. We all tend to think our own voice sounds deeper, more resonant than it actually does. It's a bit like looking in a mirror and thinking you look taller than you really are—a little trick of the mind that we all fall for.
I didn't actually conclude that myself—everyone else pointed it out to me! I never thought it sounded deep, 🤣 I just thought it sounded a little nasal. 🤣
I’ve always found it hard to focus on someone if they have a really high-pitched, thin voice. It just makes it tough to stay tuned in, you know? 😳
Personally, I have a deeper, slightly raspier voice. I've noticed that when I'm giving presentations, speaking a bit faster actually helps me come across as more knowledgeable. 😲
Also, I can't stand it when people won't look you in the eye while they're talking. 😲
Beyond that, I don't really pay much attention to anything else. 😲
It’s not that there's anything specific here, it's more about the underlying truth of it all 😲 As if I didn't deal with illusions in my real life? Of course I did. Even when everything pointed the other way, I chose to see what felt beautiful to me—it doesn't always have to be some gritty drama like you'd see on a gritty HBO show 😲 I made my own mistakes and faced my own consequences; that was the whole point. Look, if you have confidence in your actual life, you'll have it here too. But if you lack it there, you won't find it here either I'm not pretending to be someone else by logging onto this forum; my handle is just who I am. Maybe in the real world, you just don't let anyone get close—which is much easier to manage than it sounds—so you avoid those situations and call it a day. But people come online for different reasons. Since everyone is constantly connected these days, avoiding the internet is getting harder and harder, even if it isn't impossible.
Falling in love in person is exactly the same as falling in love here. Since everyone is online at all hours of the day and night now, it's easy to spend every waking moment with someone, whereas in real life, that's a lot tougher to pull off unless you have zero responsibilities. Online, it's seamless. And that's really the key: when people bond online, you often spend way more time with that person than you ever would if they lived right next door 😲
Some people might just have a pattern where they want everything to stay strictly digital, not caring about anyone else's needs as long as they get what they want.
I’ve definitely learned my lesson about internet traps and how easy it is for someone to pretend to be someone they aren't. But honestly, people always end up showing their true colors eventually. Just watch for the red flags; they always show up. It’s the exact same thing as meeting people in real life. At least, that's been my experience. Who can really blame women when they miss those signs? No one, because it happens just as much offline. I’d say meeting people online is pretty much the same thing. People don't just ignore reality here; they do it in the real world, too. Like, if you go out to a club in NYC, you'll see the same thing. So, I'd say your issue is basically the same as what happens in person. 😲 People lie to themselves all the time—online, in person, everywhere.
I think that's the only real issue here, rather than the internet itself.
Honestly, I don't care that you met him online, but seeing you act this heartbroken over him is just too much 😲
Did you exist before him? Yeah. Will you exist after him? Definitely.
In my experience, nobody is truly irreplaceable. Even the people I would have bet my life on being essential—I've said those exact words myself, only to be proven wrong by reality. Life is tougher than we are, and it moves on without them.

He’s a total coward—just some digital freak living through a screen with nothing to his name but a Facebook profile. He's got a girl back home doing all the heavy lifting to support his career, yet he's out here trying to score with you online. Get this through your head: men live for themselves, not for women. Once you wrap your brain around that, life gets a whole lot easier. Just keep doing you like you always have. As for that little loser? You'll get him eventually, but trust me, they always crawl back when you least expect it. 100%
I'm right there with you.
It’s way too easy to pretend to be someone else when you're just behind a screen, isn't it?
If she had actually met him in person, she might have realized he was just playing a part. ☕
I'm right there with you 😲 Looking back on when I finally lost that illusion, it didn't even hurt that he was gone. It was more like I realized I had just overestimated my feelings for him. Honestly, what I actually missed was just having that capacity to feel something at all. It was those tiny, everyday moments—the way he’d look at me, or if I’d melt whenever he gave me a hug. Just seeing him. But I eventually realized staying stuck in that wasn't healthy. I couldn't let myself be a slave to an emotion, and I was really only hurting myself by clinging to something that wasn't there anymore.
Honestly, all I can say is that it should have happened, but it didn't. There's no point dwelling on "what if," because that won't get you anywhere. You’ll stop overthinking it eventually. Everything fades with time—it's not exactly a consolation, but that's just how life works, right? 😲
You have to stay true to yourself and never change just to please someone else. Because the moment you do, they’ll probably end up letting you down—and if you had just stayed yourself, you wouldn't be feeling this way right now, would you?😲

That said, I really wish we had a much wider selection to choose from right here on the site; it would save us all the hassle of having to bookmark external pages just to hunt down those actually decent smileys. 😁
This actually sounds like an even better idea... let's get those new smileys added!🎉 👋 :claps:
rustydrifter10 said:It's not quite like that, though. What actually happens is that if I combine multiple posts together and the total emoji count across all of them exceeds 10, then they all just get lumped into that one single combined post.
Fair enough then.
A single smiley can say a thousand words, right? Let us express ourselves a little better! 😍
Man, I think I saw rustydrifter10 on some thread over on Reddit, but I can't quite recall the topic. She was definitely using way more than ten emojis though! 🙂
rustydrifter10 said:Hey, just a heads-up: maybe try stripping those smiley faces out of the quote or just write two separate posts. If what you're quoting isn't just a single sentence, I guess it's fine, but if it is, there’s really no need to dump twenty different emoticons into a two-sentence snippet. Plus, when you're quoting someone, you should really just focus on the specific part you're actually replying to, rather than grabbing the whole thing.
🙂 Well, you have the right to use twenty emojis. If I had that right, I'd tell everyone else they've had enough at ten! 🙂
