Urgent: Need help with my laptop battery! in IT Support ·
I just put my order in for this one.
I'm really hoping it holds up well for at least a few months.

I’m leaning toward that conclusion as well, mostly because I can't seem to get the calibration to work. For starters, would an initial capacity of roughly 2200 mAh be considered decent? It’s priced at about $200-$100. Do you think it could actually hold up for six months to a year? I don't really use it for heavy gaming; most of the time, I just jump on occasionally for some nostalgia trips playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and that’s pretty much it.

Hi there, and I really appreciate all the effort you've put into trying to troubleshoot this, but we’re still hitting a wall. Even when the charge drops to about 50% and the system tries to restart the charging cycle, I get a "battery very low" warning, essentially telling me that I need to go out and buy a new battery.
The issue with setting up hibernation is that the charge never actually dips down to that critical 5% or 7% threshold. As I mentioned earlier, it consistently drains down to around the 40-50% mark before anything happens.
I can successfully charge the laptop back up to 100%, though it takes quite a while to reach a full charge, but once it starts draining, it just won't hit that minimum level required to trigger hibernation.

I neglected to mention that I picked up this laptop back in late September 2019. I can't really file a warranty claim because, honestly, I was a bit of an idiot and started tinkering with the internals quite a while before this mess started. Now, when I try to charge the battery, it’s incredibly inconsistent; sometimes it seems to be charging fine, and then suddenly it jumps straight to saying it's full, just cycling through these stages indefinitely. Do you think running a calibration might fix this, or am I looking at something more serious?

Dear all, please forgive me if there is already an existing thread covering this topic. I am reaching out because I find myself in need of some technical advice. My laptop battery has started behaving quite erratically; once the charge level hits approximately 55%, the machine simply shuts down without warning. I have to plug it back into the wall, and upon doing so, the system indicates it needs to start the charging process from the very beginning. I have spent some time browsing online for replacements, but I am feeling a bit lost regarding which one to select. My current machine is a Dell Latitude purchased late last September. It uses a Duracell battery rated at 41.6 Wh and 2850 mAh.
I have noticed some similar options available for around $200-$100, but I am hesitant to pull the trigger because I suspect they might have a lower mAh rating than my original.

I posted a thread about this a few months back, but I’m starting a fresh one now. Last time, I decided to hold off so I could save up a decent amount for a proper build. I’m looking for someone who can put together a PC for me—maybe through Micro Center or a similar online retailer that offers pre-built options or individual components. Within this budget, I’d also like to include a monitor, something around 23 or 24 inches. Regarding the RAM, I’m torn between 2x8GB or just a single 16GB stick; I'd love to hear what you all think works best. As for performance, I just want to be able to play newer titles, or even stuff from a year or two ago, on at least Medium settings. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me spec this out.
👍👍

Many thanks. I was just looking over some game specifications, specifically checking the requirements for the processor and the graphics card. Everything looks very solid.
I am curious, though—is there room to upgrade the RAM down the road, and if so, what is the maximum capacity in GB?

I was wondering if someone could help me put together a parts list using an online retailer—it could even be from Micro Center. I’m trying to figure out what kind of performance I can actually expect from a gaming PC with a budget of up to $5 $167. Honestly, my only real goal is to be able to run newer titles on at least medium settings without too much trouble.
I definitely need a hard drive with at least 1 TB of capacity. As for the rest, I'd prefer an Intel Core i5 or Core i7, and if it's within reach, an Nvidia graphics card would be ideal.
Thanks in advance to everyone for the help. (I already have a keyboard, mouse, and speakers, so no need to include those)
Also, if we can squeeze a decent monitor into this price range, I'd love that. It doesn't need to be anything massive or fancy.

I really appreciate all the suggestions everyone has shared 🙂

I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction regarding a new PC build. I'm not looking for anything overly extravagant; my main goal is simply to have something capable of running more recent titles, even if I have to settle for low settings just to maintain a steady 30 to 40 fps. I truly appreciate any advice, suggestions, or insights you all might be willing to share.👍

Nail extraction procedure in Health ·
Hey everyone, back in January 2009, I had to undergo a minor procedure to remove the nail on my left big toe due to a fungal issue.
The doctors went about it by injecting local anesthesia around the nail area first; it didn't hurt at all, and I was wide awake throughout the whole process.
The only real pain I experienced was during my follow-up dressing change. It was absolutely agonizing because they had wrapped it so poorly, but aside from that, I didn't deal with any other discomfort later on.
What I'm wondering is if anyone else here has dealt with something similar. My nail has grown back, but it looks nothing like the nail on my right big toe. Does it always stay looking this different?
