Failure to register guests in the visitor management system in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Unless they’ve gone and changed some laws recently, my landlord ended up getting slapped with a fine just because she filed my paperwork a little late—even though she did eventually report me. The inspectors showed up and, boom, there it was.

I mean, I honestly don't get how anyone thinks that isn't a violation. It makes zero sense. Just... whatever.

To be fair though: if you know the right people in the right offices, you can pretty much get away with anything. That's just how things work here in America.
For some people, it’s just never 🤣.

Man, when the US government promises something—well, you can bet it’s a sure thing 🤣.

What a bunch of suckers... next up on the list to get burned are those APN types. I’m just sitting here watching them "brag" about their big moves, while in reality, there won't be any housing and there definitely won't be any cash. I used to try and wrap my head around people like that, but honestly? Not anymore. People are just clueless.

so, this one comes with a "plug," right? And that’s what goes into my laptop—that little round jack with the headphone icon next as well?

this is the laptop I'm using - that first little hole on the right is where it goes, yeah?

Alright, look, I’m a total tech novice here. IT background, but... yeah.

So, there's this guy two offices down from me who basically thinks he's the main character in a movie. He just loves the sound of his own voice, you know? Constant phone calls, shouting down the hallway for whatever reason... it's a lot. I can't focus on my work, I can't study, I can't even think straight.

I noticed one of my coworkers has these big over-ear headphones hanging over her monitor.

What should I be looking for? Like, what's the deal with brands, what features actually matter, etc.? I need help. And I'm assuming that thing works via USB mode? Just plug it into the laptop and... I don't know. Educate me, please. Also, where can I find a decent deal? I'm fine with just ordering something online.

imgbb.com usually uses encryption to keep your data locked down. But when Chrome tried to connect to imgbb.com just now, the site sent back some weird, totally invalid credentials. It could be someone trying to spoof imgbb.com, or maybe you just hit a hotel Wi-Fi login screen that hijacked the connection. Either way, your info is safe for now since Chrome killed the connection before anything actually swapped hands.

You can't get into imgbb.com right now because the site is running on HSTS. These kinds of network glitches or attacks are usually just temporary hiccups, so the page will probably be back up and running eventually.

I've tried a bunch of them, but honestly, they all end up being the exact same thing. I just Google "free image upload" and they always pop up... can't even remember which ones specifically right now...

I clear my cookies all the time.

I'm gonna have some fun with it the next chance I get.

I used to run into this all the time back when Internet Explorer was a thing, so I’d just switch over to Google Chrome.

I actually tried that too, I just forgot to mention it. It's basically the opposite of what happened to you—for some reason, I can't get images to upload in Chrome. So, I switched over to Mozilla or whatever... and then the uploads work fine. I write the post, attach the photos...

But then, if I head back to the forum using Chrome, the spot where I put the pictures is just totally empty (?!).

...honestly, I don't even know where to post this because I’m such a tech illiterate (not that I'm looking for help, just kind of venting about my own incompetence 🤦).

So, for some reason that makes zero sense to me, my home PC has decided it hates free image hosting sites. I used to use them all the time to upload stuff for forums, no problem. But now? I go to a site and it just hits me with this "not secure" warning, and it won't even give me the option to "proceed anyway" or bypass the alert. It's just totally blocked. I have no clue if I accidentally toggled some setting or what... anyone got any ideas?

I mean, honestly, he could have caught it on any single day during their interaction, yet the fever didn't even show up until the very tail end of the illness. Look, I'm telling you, this isn't like a standard flu where everything follows a neat little script; with this thing, you might run a fever the moment you're exposed, or maybe ten days down the line, or—and this is the kicker—you might never get a fever at all despite being fully infected.

Whatever, man. You win. 🙂

Andrew Booth29 said:What does salary even have to do with it? Isolation pay is set at $4,250 a month. Just take that, look at how many business days are in the month, and run the numbers. It’s better to just stay positive, isn't it?

I stopped reading after your first sentence. "Math isn't my strong suit?" Look, isolation doesn't cost everyone $1417 a month. Go check the Medicare website. If you're lucky, you might actually get what I'm saying. Though I wouldn't hold my breath.

The math part makes sense to me, I guess.

But I’m not really buying this whole thing about catching it right on the day someone gets a fever. My sister’s a doctor, and if she woke up with a temperature, she wouldn't have caught whatever it was just that morning. Like, they even drive to work together. It feels a little sketchy to say he got sick on their very last day hanging out and then she somehow picked it up just a day before that.

I mean, sure, it’s possible. But honestly? Probably not how it actually went down. I dunno.

Not sure if this belongs here or somewhere else entirely.

So, Wednesday rolls around... A coworker of mine heads home because his sister—who he lives with—called to say she’s running a fever. She’s a doctor, works right on a COVID ward at the local hospital. That same night, she tests positive. My guy stays home to quarantine. His primary care doc told him to sit tight for ten days after the last contact. I check in with him about five days into his isolation, and he tells me he’s being super careful, staying isolated, and hasn't felt a thing.

Then Friday hits. It’s officially day nine of his isolation, and suddenly he’s got a fever. Tests back positive.

Is it just me, or does this whole story smell a little fishy? Specifically the part where he claims he was actually isolating?

I mean, before that Wednesday when she first mentioned the fever, it’s just the two of them in the house. They live on separate floors, sure, but they still hang out and spend time together.

Anyone here who went through the hassle of claiming isolation pay from Medicare—assuming you’re pulling in more than $1417 take-home per month—mind doing the math for me? Like, what was the actual daily rate they cut you a check for?

I’m pretty sure I’ve already tried everything on the list. Even that whole thing where you’re supposed to clean the rollers... you know, the part where it tells you to bend the paper just to get it through the machine? Yeah. I guess I’ll give it one more shot and see if anything sticks.

Nah, I went through everything in the settings that actually let me run a cleaning cycle. Total waste of time.
