Charles Richardson50 said:I’ve finally embraced this state of complete neutrality—no reactions, no expectations, no highs, no lows, and certainly no fear. I don't expect anything from life because, frankly, it’s all just fleeting; the time we’re granted is such a
tiny blip in the vastness of the universe that it’s hardly worth making a fuss about.
Don't mistake me for being a pessimist or someone struggling with depression; it’s more of a simple realization. This brief existence we have is a gift, really, and it should be lived through without the weight of massive expectations—much like how a butterfly lives out its few days and then simply vanishes. Our fate is already written, and since we are essentially condemned to pass through this world, we might as well accept that reality without letting emotions get in the way.

But what kind of life is that, really?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Hey 🙂
Has anyone here actually been to the Vukas clinic over on Fifth Avenue?
I lost my prescription... and I'm in a bit of a bind because I need to get a new one made ASAP... so if anyone’s had any experience there, please let me know what you think...

Most folks looked at me like I had two heads when I tried explaining why I ride through everything—summer heat, freezing winters, day or night, rain, snow, rough trails, you name it...

You aren't crazy
You just really, really love your bike😁

Why's that?

But if it’s actually tearing through your Vans, then you’ve got some kind of freakish toe situation going on—like that weird fetus thing that lady from South Park had growing out of her head. That’s messed up. Just cut it off if you want to actually be happy, there's no other way. Just let us see the damage at least once, haha.

Put it in a jar of formaldehyde then😁
just kidding, obviously

Just email the MMS to yourself and then you'll have the pictures right there on your computer😁
There's always a workaround if you look hard enough...😉
Oh, I forgot to mention
I ended up having general anesthesia
It wasn't actually that bad—you can always ask them to run some tests beforehand just to make sure your body can handle it without any issues
The only real downside is they put in a breathing tube
And man, my throat was absolutely killing me after that
It hurt even just trying to swallow saliva

I wouldn't want to go through an operation like that—it sounds terrifying!!!
I feel like if someone actually had to deal with that shock, they'd just pass out on the spot!!

I see there are some medical professionals in here 🙂 so I wanted to ask one quick thing --- when someone is under general anesthesia --- do they stop breathing on their own? Or how does it work????
I know it’s all routine stuff for hospital staff, but... I'm just curious..

+ also, how long do those bruises/hematomas/discoloration last??
Can you fix it with some creams 🤷🤷 basically just rubbing it in to make it heal faster, or should you just wait it out??

(I'm planning to go in January or February -- though I'll probably use my insurance, assuming it kicks in -- so that's why I'm asking everything -- since I need to get back to work and all that?)

Goodness, what am I even reading... this is awful.
Just don't go under general anesthesia, seriously.😲
Anyway, when I went through with mine using my insurance, I really struggled to catch my breath at first.
You should go ask around at Mercury... I heard they do cosmetic procedures through insurance there and they do a decent job, though you still have to live with that nose forever, I guess.
As for the bruising, mine showed up on the second day, but it was pretty minimal.
It lasted about 3 days.

Maybe you're dealing with some kind of foot fungus
who knows, maybe it's just hit your nails at this point 🤷
I caught mine back in elementary school—honestly, I have no clue where it even came from
such a massive pain in the neck, seriously 😠

wiredharbor22 said:Hello.

I have a question and I am hoping someone here might be able to offer some guidance.

To be honest, my pinky toes are quite unsightly. I’m talking about the fifth toe on each foot. My big toes are large, but they look fine, so I don't have an issue there.

Those little toes... they honestly feel like an afterthought. If you looked at my feet, you'd think they were just extra parts that shouldn't be there. I've noticed people staring at them more times than I can count, which has really fueled a deep insecurity about them.

The way my nails grow makes it even worse. They grow stunted, almost splitting from two different points that clash with one another. When I apply polish, I usually have to cover the entire area and then some just to make it look somewhat uniform. I also have to stick to darker colors just to hide the effect.

Looking at them now, they appear swollen. Almost like tiny, malignant tumors.

So, here is my question. Since I have wide feet—which is already a struggle because I wear a US women's size 10 or 11 and finding shoes is difficult—is it possible for a plastic surgeon or a specialist to remove those small growths without affecting my ability to walk normally or making my foot look crooked?

Maybe post a photo so we can take a look?
maybe you're just shaving them
I have a friend who isn't really a fan of feet in general, so she's not exactly the best judge of what looks good or not
if that's even an option
come on, just post a photo, be brave😁
Biking from San Diego to Maui? in Cycling ·
Jamie Cox29 said:If you guys end up moving this thread, could you just shoot me a quick DM letting me know where it landed? Thanks!

I’m starting to plan out a massive loop for this summer—maybe hitting San Diego first, then catching a boat out to Maui, and then biking my way back to the coast...
Has anyone here ever done a long-haul ride like that? I'm curious about the sleeping situation if I'm using a tent. I'm not really looking at campsites—more like wild camping in nature. 🤷Also, any tips on mounting a tent to a bike? Or would it be a total headache to just build a little trailer instead?

Oh, absolutely—and seriously, don't even think about heading out without a pump. Trust me on that one.👍
