I think it’s probably time for me to get my breasts checked out—so if anyone has a recommendation for a solid private doctor in Washington, D.C., I'm all ears.

Honestly, I feel like a lab bunny that’s been dunked straight into superglue. I am reaching out to all you bright minds for some advice: does anyone know of any gentle yet effective ways to get rid of adhesive residue mixed with God-knows-what kind of irritants and stray clothing fibers? I’ve already tried cleaning with Aveeno thermal gel and various oils—like jojoba, apricot kernel, and rosehip—but there is still so much gunk left behind, and frankly, all this scrubbing is making my skin flare up terribly. Since my back is currently a total mess, and given that I’m prone to hives and dermatitis (plus, I’ve actually got some skin breakage happening right now), please, I beg you, refrain from suggesting heavy-duty furniture removers or anything remotely industrial. 😁
Thanks in advance!

That’s basically how the whole debate went down on the main forum thread. Honestly, I have my doubts that anything significant ever happens on those boards without some "higher-up" knowing about it—or even giving the green light first. So, I figured the best thing to do was just provide a summary of where things actually stand.
By the way—I still stand by my original thought—anyone who goes out of their way to post a fraudulent ad deserves a partial ban, and I truly believe that fact should remain entirely independent of whatever else might be going on around here.
Nicholas King said:Regarding what actually constitutes an insult versus what doesn't generally speaking (and I should probably add a billion disclaimers here—I am referring to the general style of communication), there was some discussion about this right here on the US during those days when things were shifting. If I recall correctly—and no, I’m not going to waste my time digging through the search function—people were reminiscing about the "(good) old days" before political correctness took over; back when people could talk without gloves on and when you were actually allowed—or even encouraged—to tell stupid people they were being stupid. Or something to that effect. I might not be using those exact words, but I don't think I'm missing the point.
So, really, it comes down to how one views the concept of the Democratic Party. What one person considers an insult, another person just sees as an unfiltered, blunt discussion.

I was wondering if anyone might be willing—or perhaps even feel inclined—to provide an appraisal of this bronze relief bearing the signature of Franges-Mihanović?
The dimensions are roughly 25x17 cm.
Furthermore, if anyone happens to recognize the specific piece or could kindly point me toward a more seasoned expert on his body of work, I would be most grateful.

It’s from the early 1900s. Apparently, it was a gift to the family from Stjepan Radic, given by King Alexander Karadjordjevic himself. I was wondering if anyone here might have an idea of what a piece like this could be worth on the market today?http://img408.imageshack.us/i/p2020107.jpg/

I'm new here—just trying to find my footing—and I was wondering how I might go about uploading photos so someone could help identify some artwork. I've inherited a few pieces recently—nothing too flashy, just things left to me—and I'm curious to know who the artists might be and if they hold any real value, though I can't seem to figure out how to get the images posted for you all to see.

Has anyone here actually tried buying a dog trailer? I've been checking out local bike shops all over town, but nobody seems to carry them—it’s like they don't even exist locally... I just can't find any.
Has anyone had luck ordering one from an overseas retailer?
I'd love to hear any advice or experiences you might have... 😉

I know from experience that I struggle to get my contacts in if my eyes are exhausted.
Or perhaps there's just some buildup on them despite your regular cleaning; it might be worth having them professionally polished.

Man, I am seriously reaching my breaking point with this... sometimes the itching gets so bad that I honestly wonder if my hair is just going to fall out right then and there...
Maria Fisher46 said:It's impossible to say for sure without an actual exam, but it might be a type of eyelid inflammation called blepharitis squamosa—which usually shows up as tiny flakes or yellowish buildup right at the base of the lashes... and you often see some temporary lash loss along with it. Once those flakes are cleared away, the skin tends to look pretty red.
This stuff often goes hand-in-hand with seborrheic dermatitis (basically dandruff) on the scalp. Also, because the oil glands in the eyelids aren't working quite right, a lot of patients end up complaining about dry eye symptoms—that "gritty" feeling like there's sand in your eyes, stinging, or just general eye fatigue...
If that's what's going on, you'd need to follow a specific hygiene routine. That usually means washing the eyelid margins daily with a diluted baby shampoo using a Q-tip, plus doing some gentle eyelid massages. Sometimes, depending on what your doctor suggests, you might also need local treatments like ointments or drops.
Keep in mind, this is all just guesswork here. I'd really recommend seeing a doctor so they can figure out exactly what's happening and get you the right treatment plan.
Best regards. 😉

Obviously she knows. 🙂We can debate the research—actually, I'm down to hear if you have anything interesting, but saying someone is imagining things just because you read some studies is overkill.
Where did I say she was imagining it just because I read research?
My take that she's making it up comes from that obsession with needing tons of sleep. In my years of experience dealing with this, it’s always the same story with people asking me how to sleep less or how I manage to function on 2-3 hours a night... Once they stop convincing themselves they need massive amounts of sleep or that they aren't sleeping enough, the whole problem vanishes...Maybe you could give her tips on how to get "quality" sleep while sleeping less. Right now, she doesn't know how to do that and she's exhausted. 🙂
She already got that advice.
🙂
Instead of constantly repeating that she's tired, she should focus on how 5 hours will be plenty... Like, if she actually wants this, she needs to focus on how much sleep she'll get before hitting the pillow—specifically what time she plans to wake up. That forces the brain to compress REM cycles into that window and space them out so they finish right when she wakes up, letting her wake up naturally (which is why I haven't used an alarm clock in years). It results in total refreshment. She'll feel more rested than someone who slept 10 hours but got jerked awake mid-REM...

Yeah, she'd sleep more if she actually believed she was sleep-deprived... You want to go down the rabbit hole of actual sleep studies and the data behind it?🙂
redharbor9 said:Look, if you’d stop obsessing over how you aren't sleeping enough and exhausting yourself by trying to "catch up," your life would actually be easier. You're basically manifesting your own problems by convincing yourself they exist.
bluewalker33 said:Tell me if it’s actually dangerous to be running on just 4 or 5 hours of sleep... junior year has been absolutely brutal, and it honestly feels like the workload just keeps piling up higher and higher. It’s easily the hardest year yet.
I’m already completely burnt out and exhausted, but I guess I have to grind through it like everyone else. The real struggle is figuring out how to balance everything, stay organized, and maybe squeeze in more than five hours of sleep once in a while.
And one last thing—is it even normal to feel this pushed to the limit when there are still seven months left? (Though we do get a 15-day break in mid-December) ????
Sorry if this sounds a bit messy, I'm in a rush.
