So yeah, I'm hanging out here on the forums and also checking in on WebMD, and then I'll probably see stuff hit the news once I'm back at the office, so I should have some control over what actually gets published🙂
I'm just not totally sure how to get this in front of the hospital CEO (they'll probably just see it in the papers, I guess, if someone's doing press clippings or whatever)

Honestly, I feel like any kind of "financial" gift could totally look like a bribe. Like, that whole approach just teaches doctors that they're *supposed* to give stuff, and then patients start feeling "pitiful" or whatever if they don't get something... so I think just giving them public praise is way better. That's the kind of thing their bosses should really value and, you know, reward them for.

Daniel Murphy43 said:I’ve been struggling so much with rheumatoid arthritis, and honestly, I notice it gets way better when I cut back on food and try fasting. After just a day or two, the swelling in my fingers goes down and my joints feel way more mobile. So, I'm actually getting ready to dive into full-on therapy. My doctor wants me to ramp up the heavy hitters—like corticosteroids and chemo drugs—but I’m thinking I might try a three-week fast following Dr. Breuss’s method first.

Does anyone know if there's more detailed info out there about this? Ideally something in English, if possible.

Public shoutout! 🙂
I'm not even kidding, I really think giving someone a little boost like this might actually encourage them to keep being this awesome 🙂

Hey Gerald Kern77, am I crazy or are we basically water signs incarnate?

Like, seriously, two days after the surgery we realized that just the three of us were able to get back on our feet fast without any major drama or anything... I guess it's because all three of us are total water signs.😬

Look, I didn't say I knew all this from firsthand experience or anything, I guess... maybe that came off wrong? But yeah, I wasn't claiming to be some kind of expert who's lived through it all! 😁

So, I told them—and honestly, even their own sisters jumped in to back me up on this one! 😉 I mean, honestly, even just reading those comments about getting a needle in the arm... it hurts way more than a scratch. Like, seriously. And then they have the nerve to say it’s intentional? Please. It’s like when you get a nasty cut and they slap some Voltaren on it that stings so bad you actually forget all about the original wound. Totally wild, right? 😬

Walter Myers4 said:Look, stop talking nonsense. If you actually know where to put them and don't have a super sensitive stomach, there’s zero chance they’ll cause any burning or force you to run for the bathroom.
Suppositories are way more practical since they hit the spot locally, but hey, if you've got a "sensitive gut," maybe just stick to Voltaren pills instead.
I mean, seriously, if you can't figure out how to use one, just ask some guy to shove it in for you. 🙄

THEY DO BURN!

Even the nurses were commenting about it regarding them, so yeah, it’s definitely not about being "sensitive" or just acting like a baby.

You can get all sorts of things... ranging from those 'benign' ones that just vanish once you start hormone therapy to the tumorous kinds they have to cut out

I'm wondering if there's any other way to handle this besides going under the knife, like maybe some alternative method? Because, honestly, I really don't want to be sliced open!

Look, if your doctor tells you it’s gotta come out, then it’s basically looking like this

Just so I'm not repeating myself too much...

brisknomad6 said:So, here’s the play-by-play report:

I end up with three little holes in my stomach, and man, you can't even laugh because it hurts like crazy.
I actually tried to bargain with the anesthesiologist for some red wine and maybe some feta cheese when I woke up, but he totally bailed on me.😁 Instead, I just got stuck with an IV drip. Ugh, gross.

Basically, you don't eat anything the day before, and definitely no drinking after dinner the night before. You gotta shave (I did mine at home) and a enema is a must. Then you spend some time hanging out with the ladies in the restroom.😬

Then the doctor comes by and explains exactly what's going down—everything from that first injection to the moment you wake up and how the whole procedure works.

Friday—
You shower in the morning, get handed a Dior gown😬 and wait for the nurse to show up with the needle.
They wheel you into the OR, and that's when things get interesting.

First, you're busy teasing the doctor about his hair or how he looked on CNN the night before, and then he tells you the anesthesiologist is running late so they might have to do it while you're still awake... so you start negotiating, asking if they'll play Vangelis or maybe some country music instead.😂

Then the green-eyed anesthesiologist finally shows up, you settle on how you want to wake up, and then... lights out.😬 (Around 8:30 AM)

/Then they roll you back to a room and you're all smiles, thanking the guys who help move you onto the bed—those were my nurses after everything was done./

You wake up at some random time (10:27 according to my phone) and you and the nurse get dressed, then you call your people to let them know you're okay before passing out again.

By 1:30 PM I’m pretty much fully awake. I'm waiting to feel pain, but... nothing. I feel totally fine. I'm checking my arms, legs, upper body—it hurts a tiny bit... I think I'm getting painkillers through the IV since I feel so steady... I grab my phone and check in with everyone I need to.
The nurse comes in, and I'm dying to go to the bathroom, but she won't let me get up. I can't even have water yet!...

At 4:30 PM my honey arrives. I try to convince the nurse to let me go to the bathroom alone so he can just hold my IV line.😁 Looking in the bathroom mirror, I see those three little holes.

By 7:30 PM, I'm begging the nurse for just one sip of water. I ask if I'm getting anything for the pain, and she says no, then asks if I actually need it... NO, I don't! This hurts less than my last period.👍

Around 11 PM, I finally head to the bathroom by myself without the IV tethered to me.

The next morning, they finally let me have coffee. I head to the vending machine for some coffee and the newspaper... and now I can finally drink juice and stuff again.

I can eat lunch now, though I absolutely hate kale, and of course, lunch is kale.😁

In the afternoon, I head out to a cafe for a coffee...

Monday -
I got dressed all by myself (even though my socks were being super annoying, ugh), packed up (didn't lift my own bag, obviously lol), and made my way to the car on my own

I'm back home now 🙂 just sipping some coffee and typing away

So, listen up girls, don't be scared because, honestly, looking at everything, it’s really not that big of a deal 🙂

So, I was just sitting here thinking about what brisknomad6 said earlier, and honestly? I feel like we’re all kind of dancing around the actual point, you know? Like, maybe I'm just overthinking it—I totally might be—but there's this vibe that everyone is missing. It’s almost like when you’re trying to explain a complicated movie plot to someone and they just keep nodding without actually getting it. I guess what I'm trying to say is... well, it's complicated. But yeah, I really think we need to look at it from a different angle, or at least try to. Just a thought! Maybe it's nothing. kaže:
Screw you guys, my damn vagina was farting for two days straight after surgery. 😬

Wait, what? You just dropped a single word there. I'm guessing you were about to say something or maybe you hit send too early? Honestly, I've been there—totally lost my train of thought mid-sentence before. Anyway, I'm all ears! What's up? Tell me everything, don't leave out the juicy details. I'm just hanging out, ready whenever you are. 😁

Hey, just a heads up—that stuff is yours, so you might as well get it sorted at home within the next 24 hours or whatever. I mean, it’s probably easier that way, I guess. 🙂

So, here’s my super depressing little update:

I’ve basically got three holes in my stomach right now, and I can't even laugh because, oh my god, it hurts like crazy.
I actually made this whole deal with the anesthesiologist—like, we were gonna negotiate for some red wine and sheep cheese once I woke up—but he totally bailed on me. 😁 Instead, I just got stuck with an IV drip. Ugh, gross.

So, anyway, the rules are: the day before, you don't eat anything, and definitely don't drink anything after dinner. You gotta shave (I did that at home) and the enema is a total must. Then, you spend a good chunk of time basically hanging out with the girls in the ladies' room. 😬

Then the doctor comes by and walks you through the whole thing—everything from that first shot to how you'll wake up and how they actually do the procedure.

Friday—
In the morning, you shower, they give you one of those cute Dior gowns 😬 and you just sit there waiting for the nurse to show up with the needle.
They wheel you into the OR, and that’s when things get interesting.

First, I was busy teasing the doctor about his hair and that news segment he was on last night, and then he tells me the anesthesiologist is running late so we're going live. So naturally, I start negotiating about whether he’s gonna play Vangelis or just some old country music. 😂

Then this green-eyed anesthesiologist finally shows up. We hash out the plan for when I wake up, and then... lights out. 😬 (Around 8:30)

/You get wheeled into a room somewhere, and you’re just sitting there smiling at the guys transferring you to the bed—they were all such sweethearts, honestly. /

I woke up at some point (10:27 according to my phone), and I was getting dressed with the nurse, calling my people to let them know I'm okay, and then—boom—I'm totally wiped out again.

By about 1:30, I’m fully awake. I was just waiting for the pain to kick in, but... nothing. I felt totally numb. I kept waiting for it to hurt, but nope. I moved my arm, my leg, my upper body—it hurt just a tiny bit. I think I was getting painkillers through the IV? Since I felt so numb... I grabbed my phone and called whoever I needed to call.
The nurse comes in, and I’m like, "I need the bathroom," but she won't let me get up. I can't even have water! :/

At 4:30 PM, my guy arrives. I actually tried to convince the nurse to let me go to the bathroom alone so he could just hold the IV for me. 😁 I spent my time staring at the three little holes in my stomach while in the bathroom.

By 7:30 PM, I’m begging the nurse for just a sip of water. I asked if I was getting anything for the pain, and she was like, "No, do you need something?" And I was like, "NO! I don't need anything!" This hurts way less than my last period. 👍

By 11:00 PM, I finally managed to hit the bathroom by myself without the IV.

The next morning, they finally let me have coffee. I headed to the vending machine for a cup and the newspaper... and now I can have juice and stuff too.

I can eat lunch now, though I absolutely loathe kale. And of course, for lunch, it was kale. 😁

Now I'm back home. 🙂 Just sipping coffee and typing away.

So, listen, ladies—don't be scared. Like you can see, it’s really not that big of a deal. 🙂

Hey, so I was just sitting here thinking about that whole thing—you know, what brisknomad6 was bringing up earlier? It’s kindally wild when you actually stop to chew on it for a second. I mean, maybe I'm just overthinking things, or maybe I've had way too much caffeine, but there’s just something about the way everything seems to be shifting lately. It feels like one of those moments where you realize the ground isn't quite as solid as you thought it was, you know? I guess I'm just rambling now, but honestly, it's hard not to feel a little bit buzzed by the whole situation. It’s definitely a lot to wrap your head around, I suppose. kaže:
Easy for you guys to sit there and make jokes about my farts, I guess. Seriously though. 😁

Screw you guys, my lady bits were literally farting around like crazy two days after my surgery. 😬

On the topic of pain—seriously, if you're dealing with intense cramps or anything that feels off, I’d really recommend heading to a gynecologist for an ultrasound or something. Like, please, just get it checked out. Honestly? My post-op recovery was actually way less painful than my last period... which is kind of wild when you think about it, I guess.
Smoking ban in all public spaces in Health ·
Look, I’m not against rules or anything, I just think we need actual, decent separation between smokers and non-smokers...

Like, let's actually enforce those laws properly instead of having smokers and non-smokers crammed together in a bar, sitting chair to chair like it's nothing...

I used to smoke myself, so honestly, the smoke doesn't really bother me, but I totally respect what people who can't stand it want

So where are you hanging out now?

back home 😍

Oh, and about starting this thread for shout-outs and praise...

I guess I’m definitely gonna be one of the first people to kick something off, especially when things go south (whether it's with a doctor or just life in general). I mean, I totally feel like I have a legal right to vent and warn everyone else if something's messed up. Like, I'd be such a jerk if I was just publicly calling people out all the time but then stayed quiet and swept all the good stuff under the rug.

Yeah, I know, it's pretty standard for people to act the way they do. But honestly, standards here in the States (and not just in healthcare, really) can be so much lower than what they should be, so I appreciate it even more when someone actually puts in the effort. You know, like a kind word or a genuine smile, or even just being gentle when waking you up at 6 AM—which, by the way, I've already slept through, while that same nurse is stuck on an 11-hour shift.

Anyway, yeah, that's why I'm making this topic.
