knowing how I am, I totally forgot to pick it up 🙂
I'm really not a fan of meds, like at all...
and honestly, I haven't been sleeping much either... but I guess I just took too much of it today 😢 so I was hoping I could at least get one solid day of sleep like a normal person...
Is there any chance a medication could actually do the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do?
So, let me explain...
Last night, around 9 PM, I decided—for the first time ever—to take something to help me sleep. I’ve been dealing with this chronic sleep deprivation lately and I am just totally wiped out...
I'm super stressed and my internal clock is basically non-existent right now, so I figured, hey, maybe I can finally get some rest.😁
But then... suddenly, at 3 in the morning, here I am... a) wide awake, fully conscious b) tapping my foot like crazy (even my dog was staring at me weirdly)—and I'm not even someone who taps their fingers on tables or fidgets like that, I swear...
I hadn't touched any coffee since 3 PM, no tea either, and I haven't had a single drink in over two weeks...
- how old are you? - 30 - what do you do for work? - graphic design - have you dealt with any major stress lately? - ughhh, where do I even start... honestly, way too much... - moved recently? - yup, totally
- if you're staring at a computer all day for work, try to stay off it at home, especially at night - no way, I pretty much have to be on it to get stuff done
- you really need some physical activity, like hitting the gym or something... maybe just thirty minutes on a bike or anything that actually wears you out - yeah, I probably should, just don't know when I'll find the time
- since you moved, check if there's any electromagnetic radiation sources nearby (TVs, phone chargers, transformers, an active cell phone, etc.) and move them away - everything seems fine on that front, this is a pretty 'healthy' house
- also, since you're in a new spot, maybe your sleeping area isn't quite right. try switching it up—pick the spot you originally chose instead of following everyone else's advice - eh, I can't really move my bed, nowhere to put it
- if you have central heat, maybe it's getting too hot or something during the night... - nope, it's not that
and anyway, I'm not sleeping much, so the whole insomnia thing doesn't even bother me that much... it's more the muscle aches and the stiffness in my bones that's really messing with me😢
man, I am definitely not lacking in physical exhaustion right now... I just moved, so I've basically been sprinting around my house all day long, just constantly on the move...
plus, since I'm back home again, I've been out walking almost every single day... it’s nothing crazy, I guess, just a quick loop around the neighborhood🙂
the only thing is, I’m totally ignoring that whole work stuff during the day, because that's really the only time I can actually get things done in peace...
Anyway, I’m such a night owl and I barely get any sleep... I honestly can't even think about hitting the hay before 2 AM
Speaking of catching some Z's...
Like, when I was staying in Miami, I actually crashed at 11 PM on my first night (probably just because I only slept two hours the day before, woke up at 4 AM, and spent the whole day traveling... but then, the very next night, I didn't pass out until like 4 😢
During summer vacations, I love watching the sunrise down by the pier (it's seriously gorgeous), but then I just sleep in until 10 or 11, so it’s really not a big deal...
I mean, I got used to sleeping way less than everyone else a long time ago... but 😢 man, seriously... this is just getting to be way too much
And I absolutely hate hospitals... the whole vibe just gross me out 😢
Joshua Jones, hurry up and get here, you're next in line... but all that waiting, the endless delays, the making everything so complicated 😢 ugh, it's just nasty
granitebadger25, my eyes have been acting a bit weird lately, I just had them checked at 🙂 and I was thinking maybe it’s just that 'spring fatigue' thing or whatever they call it... I don't even know what might be causing it, honestly...
First off, I can't even pass out until like 5 or 6 in the morning, and then once I actually do wake up, I'm just... stuck. Like, I literally can't move for a while. It’s almost literal, too... every single movement hurts. Even trying to stretch doesn't really do anything...
I tried taking some Advil, but honestly, it hasn't helped at all...
It feels like my muscles and my bones are all aching at the same time, I guess...
Maybe it's the spring weather, or something else entirely? I don't know...
Not exactly a total klutz... but man, the anxiety...
The lightning and thunder were gorgeous, I guess, but honestly pretty terrifying. And don't even get me started on ladders...
So, last night I was trying to help my mom out by putting up those tiny little curtains... I climbed up the ladder... but there was just no way I was going to hook that curtain rod onto the bracket... noooo way... even though I was white-knuckling the door frame with one hand...
If it’s a tree—I’m at the top, no biggie. If it’s a building—I’m on the roof, totally fine... but ladders? Give me two steps and I'm basically done for...
Orak said:Honestly, you guys are all just amateurs. I’ve taken this whole thing to a whole new level: fried hair dryers and irons, blown lightbulbs, even streetlights that shut off right when I walk by... I think I read somewhere a long time ago from Clark that people like that are actually obsessed with polishing things up. As long as it's just regular power issues, I don't really care. Heh...
man, oh man 😁that
I once totally "fried" an air compressor 😁
one phase just completely died on me 😁
and I happened to have a massage gun right there on my calf...
if you see a red Honda Civic in the parking lot with fingerprint smudges all over the window... yeah, that's my car 😁 😁
and it has that little thing to discharge electricity from the car 😁
but I don't have one 😁... hmm... maybe I should just install a wire so I can hook myself up whenever I get in the car? 😁
I actually printed out this whole thread for my mom... she read through everything. (She was a little confused about how we even found all this info and why people were being so incredibly helpful 🙂)
So, we called Medicare and they gave us the number for this lady who handles cases just like ours, but since she was stuck in meetings all day, we’re gonna try calling her back tomorrow...
Maybe they can give us some solid advice, or at least point us toward someone who actually knows what they're doing...
So, I'm sitting here staring at this specialist's report right in front of me:
Patient needs to wear a brace constantly; totally incapable of any physical exertion. Needs three months of medical leave before a follow-up (scheduled for March 3rd). I strongly recommend referring the patient to the disability board. Primary Surgeon (Abdominal Surgery)
And then there's the decision from the board, which basically says Medical leave is extended until December 20th. Issued today.
So, yeah... the board just completely ignored what the specialist recommended regarding how much time was actually needed. It's unbelievable.
One more thing though...
Does anyone know who’s actually responsible for starting the paperwork and sending patients off to the disability board in the first place?
her qualifications are honestly even higher than what she's doing right now, so she totally deserves an 'office' gig... you know, like working a register or even stepping up as a manager... basically anything that doesn't involve hauling boxes, stocking shelves, or lugging heavy crates of water and beer around all day...
thanks a ton, I'm definitely printing this out...
if anyone else thinks of something, please feel free to drop it here
