Double standards in health PDFs? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
ironmarlin1 said:From what I can tell, Ryan Gomez4 is overreacting. It’s just like those guys over at the Green Party who ban anyone from their forums if they don't agree with them. The truth is, their little marketplace isn't big enough to sell all their supplements through DMs, so they want to expand. Having some actual standards—like the ones we have in the Health section—is a good thing. We shouldn't be letting this forum turn into a storefront for people selling toxic junk.

This post perfectly captures my point. I don't sell anything, and I'm not out here pushing products or supplements, yet I still spoke up against these qualifications being tossed around on a public forum like they're official.

At the end of the day, an online forum is a media platform. Under U.S. media laws, you're supposed to respect human dignity, civil rights, and basic freedoms, while actually making room for different perspectives.

While I was typing this up, a few people already started throwing insults my way. I’ll wait to see if the moderator actually does something about it, though I'm not holding my breath.

On the health PDF, there's this thread titled "Alternative Treatments That Help Absolutely No One." Every time I try to ask what kind of actual data or research proves that something "helps no one," I just get hit with insults like, "You clearly didn't finish middle school" or "Try using your brain for once."

I think if you're going to label someone "human scum for exploiting people's desperate need to heal," you should probably have better arguments. A few people in that debate might actually have the expertise to see things an amateur wouldn't, but most of them are just being arrogant and aggressive—and the moderator, who started the whole mess, doesn't seem to mind at all.

You’re basically killing the whole point of this forum being a place for discussion. On Alternative Discussion, there isn't any actual debate. It's just mindless praise for every stupid idea out there.

Even on the health boards, you can't have an alternative discussion. It's all just uncritical insults and bashing.

Whatever they were watching, it worked.

Ferrari won't be the only one sitting at zero points.
That’s just a private clinic with a Medicare contract. I doubt they even have a director. My last doctor wouldn't even see me if I asked.

Here’s what I dug up online:

You can switch your primary care physician once a year after your last selection period expires. During the rest of the year, you can only change doctors for specific reasons:

if you move to a new residence
if you plan on being away from home for more than three months
if your doctor retires, moves their office, or loses their contract with Medicare
if your doctor is over their maximum patient limit
if there is a breakdown in the doctor-patient relationship that makes continued treatment impossible.

If you cite a breakdown in the relationship as your reason, a special committee will review your request. In these cases, the committee members are appointed by the head of your local Medicare regional office.

I don't think that process is going to be fast...
Thanks, I had no idea you could switch doctors mid-year like that.
I’ve been seeing the same primary care doctor through Medicare for about ten years now. I end up paying out of pocket for every single test and prescription because she refuses to write me a single script or referral, even though I have a mountain of specialist reports proving I’m actually sick. I’ve never taken a sick day before, but my health has tanked over the last year. Some days, I barely have the strength to show up to work, let alone actually do it. Yesterday, I actually collapsed at my job. A customer had to drive me to my doctor, but she flat-out refused to give me medical leave just because my temperature was only 99.5 and my blood pressure was 130/80. She acted like it was nothing.

Is it true that you can't get a doctor's note if your temp and blood pressure look normal? What if you actually broke your leg?

I dragged myself into work today because I couldn't just stay home, and now I have to head out for site visits. I'm terrified I'll pass out behind the wheel and plow into someone who didn't do anything wrong.

Can I go seek a second opinion from a different doctor, and how exactly do I go about doing that?

frozentiger6 said:Just what I thought. This national team roster is basically just a collection of New York City's finest.

Kopljar isn't even playing for his club in NYC, yet he gets the call-up. Meanwhile, Kos is absolutely killing it for Celje this season. They're currently trying to figure out who plays right wing, with Valcic leading the pack. 😵 Kopljar will definitely be watching from the stands while Cervar cries about how tired Metlicic is. 😵

Don't even get me started on Caleb and Horvat. While Srem is arguably the best left wing in the NFL this season, they go and pick Caleb, who was criminally bad back in NYC. 😵
And instead of picking Cupica—who's being scouted by Ciudad Real and Portland because he's one of the top scorers in the NBA—Cervar picks another guy from NYC, Horvat. 😵

I'm over it...

And let's not forget Maria Sporcic, who'll be catching up to Balić's prime pretty soon...

I tried everything under the sun just to add someone to my friend list. I kept getting an error saying they weren't even in the database, which is ridiculous since I clicked their username right from one of their posts.

I tried clicking the quick link to pull up my friends list, but my computer just made this incredibly rude noise and nothing happened. Anyone know what's going on? 😕

They’re gonna wreck us again. Lino should've put Mirko Filipović on the national team!

I swear, if I screw this up, it's all Foyer's fault and he’s never allowed to start a thread on the OS forum again.🤣

Well, you're doing better than me.

No peas, man.
Alright, is anyone actually going to start that thread about Marc?
frozentiger6 said:As for Anderson, people hype him up way too much. Even casual fans know he’s only getting attention because he plays in Washington, D.C. They constantly push their Washingtonian golden boys, but besides Douglas, there’s nothing worth watching there. This Vukovic guy didn't even become a real player until he left Washington behind.

Finally, someone said it. 🙂
