Did you decide that based on the plot, the characters, or what?.. Honestly, I think writers (and I'm not just talking about myself) write because they have their own unique vision of the world that they eventually choose to share with others.
Of course, I can't know for sure. Not all stories are created equal—some are better than others—but my gut feeling (and everyone's entitled to one) is that most of these vampire tales exist solely to hit a contest deadline. If there wasn't a contest, these authors wouldn't even think about writing vampires. It’s pretty ironic that Victoria Faust, who’s known as a "vampire" writer, actually stays furthest from the trope by using vampirism as nothing more than a metaphor.
I don't really care about the specific vibe of the vampire. They can even be funny for all I care. As long as the story actually has a vision behind it instead of just being some attempt to win a contest...

Just hope they aren't all like those "Vampire Stories" collections—there's a bit of everything in there besides just horror. Thank God there are at least a few funny ones so you don't die of boredom...

You mentioned how much you loved the Cthulhu Mythos elements in the movie... and just a few posts ago, I said I liked Davy Jones as a version of Cthulhu... then I pointed you toward that Russian post using Latin characters... so where’s the issue? And hey, feel free to drop the link...
Look, someone else in another thread called my post a provocation just because it was in Cyrillic, so I snapped at you. I thought you were being intentional about using Latin script when maybe you just don't have a Cyrillic keyboard installed. Or you just don't want to deal with switching layouts all the time. Here's the link:
I found this hilarious clip of the film, but it's in Cyrillic, and after seeing how people reacted to my signature, I don't think it’s smart to drop the link here. Besides, a few people have already branded me a troll anyway...
Can someone explain if the average idiot on this Reddit has spiked lately, or is there just something about my posts that makes them feel obligated to reply?
