What are the results of your spiritual journey? in Spirituality ·
Scott Miller4 said:I have this feeling that I actually know way less now than I did when I first started. Back then, those intense spiritual experiences used to blow my mind, but now? I'm pretty sure they're just projections. Or maybe just identifications. At the end of the day, the only real takeaway seems to be realizing how little I actually know and just spinning my wheels.
Regarding that whole thing about calming down the temperament—losing the urge to be aggressive and just feeling generally more level-headed in most situations—it might be because of meditation or spiritual practice, I guess. But honestly, it’s probably just maturity (though I suppose I could call it "getting older" 😁).

That bolded part is my only takeaway here.

This whole thing belongs in the trash where it came from.

It’s hilarious when people cherry-pick quotes without actually reading the thread. Everyone else here totally gets my point—they even tried to back me up to the moderator—but this guy just keeps playing dumb and whining.

Besides, every subforum has its own specific rules and moderation style. We’ve been over this a thousand times: you can't apply the standards from one section to another.

If I start arguing against the whole Nibiru and second coming nonsense, I'll get flagged for being way off-topic. This isn't the place for that kind of debate. If someone really wants to go down that rabbit hole, they should just start a new thread in a forum where those topics actually belong.

Just because someone has an opinion doesn't make it right. But honestly, that's not even the point here. The real issue is that despite everyone else complaining and the moderator stepping in, this user is still turning the thread into their own personal blog.

It’s not a joke. It happened to me as just another regular user on an old forum—I eventually stopped posting there because the mods were constantly breathing down my neck. Not for breaking rules, mind you, but just for going against the "spirit" of the sub. They never gave me a formal strike, they just kept deleting my posts. That was a long time ago, but I still stay far away from that place.

There's an old American saying: don't walk into someone else's house and try to tell them how to run their kitchen.

Amanda Diaz, nobody is forcing believers off the alternative PDF sites. But like one of the guys here pointed out, there’s a clear attempt to pivot the conversation from Nibiru to the Messiah.

Moderation isn't just about playing hall monitor and deleting posts; it’s about steering the conversation in the right direction. I don't enjoy handing out sanctions, but you just won't listen to warnings. You're insulting other users and trying to bully your views onto everyone else through sheer word count instead of actual arguments. To top it off, you're commenting on the moderation itself, which is totally off-topic.

If someone starts a new thread with a massive wall of text exceeding 10,000 characters, we won't make a scene—we'll just send a DM letting them know it's not ideal. But flooding an existing thread with multiple posts per page using your usual repetitive style? That's a hard no. It's just too much repetition.

And then you have the nerve to claim you aren't disrupting the discussion.

You forgot you actually joined this thread because of the Nibiru discussion. If the connection between those gods I linked you to and Nibiru isn't clicking, then you clearly don't know much about it.

And nobody wants massive walls of text on any PDF, especially when we're dealing with entire series.
Why on earth are you all insisting on posting this on PZ? There’s a perfectly good thread about the Chernobyl disaster somewhere else. But no, over there they're busy arguing about plastic bags 🙂
Rebuilding America in Close to Politics ·
Susan Peterson7 said:I’m starting this thread because a buddy of mine mentioned the other day that The Cabinet supposedly passed some new regulation where any house without finished siding or stucco will be slapped with monthly fines until the exterior is updated. I haven't tuned into the news in about a week, and I can't find a single mention of this on any of the major news sites, so I wanted to see if anyone actually knows if there's any truth to this rumor.

If it turns out to be true, then honestly, it’s about time. 🙂
Harold Martin10 said:There aren't any real signs pointing toward a global economic meltdown. Now, things might look a bit different here in America—but we certainly aren't headed back to the Stone Age.

The Stone Age? Please. We're already heading straight for the Middle Ages.
@Ryan Gomez4: Honestly, I don't see our future looking anything like what you described. My bet is on the economy collapsing first, which will trigger a domino effect through everything else that holds society together. We'll end up back at basic survival mode. At that point, the people who thrive will be the ones who are physically fit and have practical, hands-on skills.
Conspiracy Theories in Feedback & Suggestions ·
@Imran, we can just use the main alternative subforum. If we made a dedicated one, we’d run out of stuff to talk about for alternative topics and fringe science pretty fast.
Conspiracy Theories in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Brenda Cook4 said:I mean, it’s pretty obvious what constitutes a conspiracy theory if you just take a quick look at some of the major online forums dedicated to them (like GLP or ATS, for instance). If we can't have a standalone PDF, then maybe we could just add it as another section on Alternative.

*Look, your example isn't even a conspiracy theory; it's just standard American politics. I mean, whether we're talking about corporate greed or old-school FBI surveillance, those aren't conspiracies—they're just facts. 😬Beyond that, any subject can be viewed from multiple perspectives. Take the debate over same-sex marriage, for example; there's hardly an American forum out there where that hasn't been a topic of discussion... and so on.

But you definitely won't find conspiracy theories being opened up in Politics. I don't see them there, which is why I'm suggesting you check the web to get a better sense of what actually qualifies.

No thanks. Around here, every other topic turns into a conspiracy theory anyway.
rapidbear65 said:I honestly think this is just some American intellectual and spiritual scam designed to mislead the world. Hair acts like an insulator for your sensory nerves and your connection to your surroundings... Proof? Warriors never wore bras. I’m betting it’s all about those shaved heads. Ladies, lose the bras!... I've got some pretty interesting personal experiences too...

It's the same reason bodybuilders do it; they swap them out for well-developed chest muscles. 😉
I'm not sure about any spiritual connection, but hair basically serves to pull toxins out of your body, so you should really just trim the ends. Plus, there are other perks to having hair—for instance, I never wear a hat unless it drops below 14 degrees Fahrenheit or if there's a heavy wind, then I just throw on some earmuffs.

Alternative to PDF: Dealing with harassment/insults in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Terry Nelson26 said:I have a question regarding this "alternative" crowd. Why are certain users allowed to insult others by suggesting they’re on cocaine or mocking their education levels? It feels like people are getting hit with insults constantly, yet one user dared to mention Alex Jones—just because he was discussing facts about how harmful energy-saving bulbs can be—and immediately got threatened with a ban by an admin or mod. If someone brought up Thomas Edison in a thread about lightbulbs, would that be treated differently? Why is this hypocrisy and lecturing from self-proclaimed "scientists" tolerated? And what's with all the talk about mental institutions? If this "alternative" group has become Tesla, then I get it. Also, has anyone else noticed how certain "science" users relentlessly attack "alternative" users whenever things don't go their way? Enough is enough. I want to know who is allowing this hypocrisy, double standards, and constant insults. I saw some people get colorful warnings, but a warning is nothing compared to being threatened with a ban just for mentioning someone who is stating facts on a relevant topic. Thanks.

Raymond Anderson4 said:You really need to see the onboard from Kimi's car before jumping to conclusions. It's impossible to tell anything from a frozen frame. Right now, it looks like just a racing incident.
The people defending Kimi also need to realize that Kimi's front wing has to clear the centerline of Fernando's rear tire before Fernando is obligated to give him room.
What Fernando messed up was not fully closing the door on Kimi; instead, he left just enough space for the length of the car, clearly hoping Kimi wouldn't go for the move....

He was born yesterday, if he actually thought that would work.🤣

Since I had to drag myself out of bed at some ungodly hour on Sunday, I just paired the start of the race with ironing. I'll have to catch up on all your posts later—I'm dying to see everyone's reactions. 😉
