People have endless reasons to bash Christianity: you’ve got history, fake texts, rigid dogmas, doctrines that make zero sense or just shift whenever it suits them, the way they used to hunt down anyone non-Christian, the Inquisition, all that hypocrisy... plus their takes on everyday stuff like marriage, birth control, abortion, sexual orientation, politics... you name it.
And look, don't go painting everything about abortion, marriage, or sexual orientation in such a negative light.
Personally, I stand right alongside the Church on these issues.
It's just intuitive to me.
The way you're talking? To me, that just sounds like neoliberal dogma.
It isn't cool to try and shove your views down everyone's throats as if they're the absolute truth.
That's just plain wrong.
Those aren't "correct" stances; they're just *your* stances (and trust me, I could find a billion people out there with a completely different set of values).
So, honestly, I'm glad there's at least someone in this world who stands firm defending what I actually believe in and support. I'm not saying the Church hasn't had some seriously shameful moments throughout its history—far from it—but despite all that, I really respect the stance it takes in defending nature and traditional values, regardless of all this "massive populist pressure" it's facing today (which is really just people catering to the lowest common denominator). If it weren't like that, I wouldn't give it the time of day.
The bottom line is my worldview doesn't get dragged through the mud just because you don't like it. Especially not when that bashing uses the same garbage we're all covered in ourselves.
It's just not fair.
How can someone criticize another person when they aren't even being critical of their own obsessions? When I say this, I'm not talking about asking questions or seeking explanations—that's always fine by me—I'm talking about pure propaganda meant to cause damage and paint a twisted, distorted picture.
Btw. THE TOPIC ISN'T ABOUT BEING FOR OR AGAINST CHRISTIANITY; it's about the hypocrisy of New Agers when it comes to criticizing other people's beliefs.
Mods, please keep an eye on this.
But aren't you doing the exact same thing by pushing your own views? And pretty aggressively, too.
And why shouldn't someone put these things in a negative context?
Why does a view have to be "wrong" just because it doesn't match yours?

Since Kimi is only 11, I’m watching without any massive expectations—just gonna let these guys tear each other apart and see who comes out on top... though honestly, I think Lewis Hamilton is gonna walk away with this one easy. Depends on who you ask, but personally, I think this track is killer to watch. A night race through the city streets! No matter what angle they show, it looks freaking awesome. Especially that view from the pool at the top of the hotel! Tbf1d-shame you didn't stick around, people say the track is super fan-friendly, meaning you can get right up against the action and actually see some damn good racing.
Kimi Raikkonen doesn't need pole position to make it onto the podium.🙂

It’s obvious he thinks it's totally fine to jump from being a participant in a debate straight into acting like a moderator and handing out penalties to an opponent mid-discussion. (That's a question of power dynamics and bullying—definitely important stuff in social science, but it isn't natural science.)
Regarding that bolded part: I also think it's perfectly normal to "switch gears" into moderator mode and issue a penalty if someone breaks the rules while I'm participating in a discussion on a thread I moderate. There's nothing controversial about that. There isn't some rule saying a moderator can't join the conversation, and if they do, they lose the right to moderate that specific topic. 🤷

Between how boring it is and the potential for them to mess with the final race standings, it's just too unpredictable. Anything can happen at this point. And as always, I’m just hoping to see Kimi ranking as high as possible.🤷
Let me try to clear up at least one thing here—why you get flagged even when you counter an insult with both logic and a comeback, while the guy who insulted you gets off scot-free (even if you didn't give me a specific example): I delete insults that lack any substance immediately, but I don't delete your replies because they actually contain points. That said, I can't just let the insults slide either.
I get that it might seem illogical, but I've noticed most people get way angrier about a deleted post than they do about a warning 🤷. Lately, plenty of users have been complaining that moderation is "too slow," and they claim things tolerated in certain sections of the site wouldn't fly anywhere else.
Harame, look, you need to get this: half the time you post, you trigger this massive chain reaction of arguments that barely even touch the actual topic. When we see a thread heading down that spiral—not just yours, by the way—we wipe it out.
Regarding bans: I don't go banning people for minor PDF rule infractions, but if someone keeps repeating the same mistake after multiple warnings, they're getting banned. They might think their specific post isn't a big deal, but I’m looking at the whole pattern of behavior.
This is just a general rule, not a direct shot at your complaint above.
Harame, my bad. Like my colleague mentioned, we aren't glued to this forum 24/7. I don't usually hand out bans for posts like these since I typically scrub them the second I see them, but sometimes they slip past me. So, if you see something problematic, please just hit the report button.
I don't see any reason for this thread to be deleted.
It's in the PDF titled alternative medicine. People talk about fasting, crystals, colloidal silver, and sun gazing there without any issues. I don't get why this topic gets treated differently, so please just restore it.
Sure, people discuss fasting, colloidal silver (and even gold), crystals, and sun gazing in that PDF. Some of those things are more dangerous than others, but the way this was posted—with the title Curing Yourself by Not Breathing—just looks like trolling to me.
