🤷

So—you've already missed the deadline.

restlesssurfer97 said:@ironpanther5, man, people just don't get that markets basically regulate themselves, provided you have those necessary government guardrails in place, but the real headache starts when those state regulations kick in, because look, if America offered business conditions on par with what they have in Ireland, then American employers would actually be able to offer competitive wages, and honestly, anyone who refuses to step up like that is just going to end up struggling to find any decent talent, so there's your answer right there.

What really cracks me up is how some folks seem to think an American employer is out here trying to drive a beat-up old bike while the Irish guy is cruising in a BMW, which is why the Irish guy can afford to pay more, but that's not it at all, see, it's more that Irish employers are just socially conscious, they're basically socialists at heart. 🤦

The issue is that American employers don't know how to value talent—they operate on the "if you won't do it, someone else will" mentality. If you head over to Ireland, you might start with a mediocre job and a lousy paycheck, but if you actually kill it, people notice—and that leads to better terms and better pay. Here in the States, you get stuck with a bad job and low wages, then once you finally master the role, they just pile another shitty task on top of your plate—because if you’re efficient, they figure you have extra time. They'll throw some nonsense your way too, and when you realize you're doing the work of two people, asking for a raise just gets a shrug and a pathetic sob story about why there's no budget. Meanwhile, the boss's kid gets handed a new promotion while everyone else struggles. That's the difference.

Matthew Young35 said:Yes, I must admit, it was quite a pleasant surprise.
I suppose I would have been even more pleased if he had suggested some actually decent spots instead of just shutting things down entirely, but what can you do? Even this version was somewhat enjoyable.

There's more to come. This isn't over yet.

According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly work hours here in the States are among the lowest in the developed world. If that’s the case, shouldn't we be looking deeper? If people aren't even working full tilt, then the issue clearly isn't just the cost of labor. It has to be something else entirely.

And then there’s this guy. He had some kid working for him for a mere $3,000?$1167It’s honestly a bit pathetic when you look at the competition. You have this miserable employer losing talent to companies that actually understand the value of paying people what they're worth. Is it really that hard to offer a fair wage? Apparently, for some, yes.

Whatever.

As soon as I saw that—it was obvious what we were dealing with. Just your typical American entrepreneur—the kind who’d try to run five different restaurants with a total staff of fifteen people working two and a half shifts—and he’d expect them all to work for minimum wage, obviously. 🙏

Let him go down with the rest of them—honestly, who cares.

Honestly, we should just bring in workers from overseas at $167 a month—it's the only way our local "entrepreneurs" can actually stay afloat ☕

It's not even that we're holding onto him—we're actively paying him to stay.

The DOT is surreal—it’s actually nightmarish. First they’re going to hand out 900 massive severance packages, and then they'll hire 150 new people. Because why wouldn't they 🤷 For a while, the ratio of maintenance and billing staff to administration was basically 1:1 🙏

but hey, it was all fine when they were begging to privatize everything

our highways 🙂

foreigners will be the ones pocketing the cash 🙂

of course, this was all cooked up by the DOT crew—and typical Americans wouldn't be Americans if they didn't freak out over some "selling off our national treasures" narrative to trigger a panic. Scum.

I figure they're probably at $1.75 🤷

Jessica Gonzalez said:I feel like everything should be privatized. I guess there isn't a single part of the economy that wouldn't benefit from it, including things like healthcare. Maybe even the education system would see some improvements if we had more private alternatives available.

Privatization isn't some magic bullet—it’s not penicillin, and it won't fix society overnight. Look at the private colleges here in the States—can you name one that actually holds its own against a major state university? Not a single one. They all just focus on making it easy to pass—leaking exam questions and lowering standards to turn a profit. But hey, as long as they're private, I guess it's a win. 🙏

ironpanther5 said:Look, I'm well aware they have to provide documentation to secure funding—that’s not even up for debate. My point wasn't that they’re hiding what they do; my point is that you're trying to hide people who share your exact worldview behind the skirts of firefighters and organizations for the blind, even though I doubt anyone would ever deny them funding.
I honestly have no idea why you're throwing Catholic associations in my face; it's not like I'm Saint Ante or some kind of saint myself. This isn't an "us versus them" situation for me—it might be for you, but frankly, I don't give a damn. If you want to deal with your religious fixations, go talk to the priests at the Cathedral.
As for the Church, the real question is how much of their property was nationalized and needs to be returned via public funds. If the state owes them a one-time settlement to settle the score, fine, let's pay it off and then let the parishioners fund them through donations from now on.

Now, listen to this—I know this outlet leans right, but if this is true, then wow. You mentioned 400k for Markićka, and honestly, man...

They didn't lose a damn thing, if you don't mind me saying. Half of what they "lost" was actually handed over by Ante Pavelić—but hey, there's no law in America regarding the restitution of property seized during the Independent State of America era. We should all probably ask ourselves why that is.

All those massive estates in California have been returned, and they’ve been paid over $15 billion because of it—with that number climbing every single year. Not to mention all their other perks.

So, people wonder why there's such resistance when it comes to the IK. If we let them keep drafting our laws, we'll hit rock bottom even faster than we are now. The Church has become a societal tumor—intellectually and economically—all thanks to the power they've been granted.

brightpilot6 said:I’ve been scrolling through Facebook lately, and honestly, people are just mourning the death of our society, writing little epitaphs for a culture they think is dying because, as of yesterday, anyone can claim to be whatever they want, and everyone else is expected to play along.

All because the Government decided to adopt some new convention.

Look, if you were a fool yesterday, you’re still going to be a fool tomorrow; no amount of conventions is going to change that reality.😂

Now Yellow will jump in to explain how this is just leftist hysteria.

honestly, I’m almost afraid to ask which specific news sites we're talking about 🤣

Justin James10 said:The Leftists.

Seriously, where’s the hysteria? I’m just poking fun at the brainless clerics over at Hrast and the idiots in the Republican Party—hardly a meltdown.

Then you’ve got the crowd from the daily news outlets rambling about "uprisings and unrest in Australia"🤣, and the group terrified that men are going to sneak into women's restrooms just to cause trouble in a stall—pure nonsense. Who exactly is being hysterical here?

Justin James10 said:All these international conventions are just a total joke. I mean, look at that famous Istanbul Convention—it was ratified by places like Turkey and Belarus, so what's the big deal? 🤣

But Americans? We’ll fight tooth and nail over some insignificant scrap of paper, just so we can shift the spotlight away from the economy.

By the way, can we talk about the sheer amount of leftist hysteria going on over at ESPN? 🤦

What exactly qualifies as hysterical?

From what I can gather—it’s leaning more toward victim support and prevention than actual punishment. Even though everything is technically included.

It isn't some supernatural thing; it’s got a physical body to oversee how all these accepted terms actually play out.

As for ratification, countries like Turkey, Canada, Mexico, Mexico, Canada, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Malta, Italy, and Albania have already signed on. So, they aren't exactly joining a bad crowd by ratifying this.🤷

The outliers are Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Canada, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Slovakia, Switzerland, Mexico, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

Jozo Boža is a cardinal.

The bishop is Kosic—and if my memory serves me right, he’s the same guy who claimed a woman can't get pregnant if she's been raped. 🤦

How appropriate—just what we need, another "expert" on violence against women. 🤣
