Matthew Jackson2 said:Look, Ebola is definitely more infectious through direct contact, but it doesn't hang around on surfaces nearly as long, especially if things stay dry or get hit by sunlight. The incubation period is much shorter, too, and the number of people who carry it without showing any symptoms is negligible, assuming they even exist. Essentially, the Ebola virus is so aggressive that its own lethality actually works against its ability to spread.

On the other hand, when you're dealing with an incubation period of up to 14 days, you could have a young family of five where everyone gets infected one after another. The last person could potentially be infectious two months later, all while nobody shows a single symptom, leaving you completely unaware that the virus is circulating. Your only real option would be to run constant testing on the entire population, and then you could justify taking that one-month buffer from the last positive test, but let's be honest, that's just not feasible. Sure, the statistical probability of a single asymptomatic family chain reaction is low, but as the total number of infected people rises, the mathematical likelihood of at least one such household existing becomes much higher.

That isn't exactly responsible behavior either—just look at how many interventions the US Census Bureau had to make because of people thinking exactly like you.

That all makes sense in theory, but in this specific situation, those savings won't save you if your contracts get canceled or if you simply can't collect payments from clients. Those reserves are meant to help if a company can't operate for a couple of months OR if a crisis hits, but right now, both are happening simultaneously. In the end, restaurant owners might actually take the smallest hit because customers will flock back the moment they're allowed to, whereas companies that are only indirectly affected will end up feeling the brunt of it the most.

Wait... what?

What are you even talking about? 🤔

Do you have some inside scoop that there was a specific danger on the exact day Traveler92 went hiking, making it a bad idea, or do you just personally know him as a "Czech" style hiker? 🤷

In any other scenario, what you wrote would be incredibly out of line—and I'm trying to be polite here. 🙄
I managed to snag my permit under category II.e, just like I figured I would—no hiccups at all. Now, don't get me wrong, my reason for applying is totally legitimate and I wasn't making anything up, but the oversight around here is practically nonexistent. You'd expect people to try and slide through with all sorts of nonsense given how loose things are.

Trešnjevka Park, and the whole thing wrapped up in maybe 15 to 20 minutes tops.

They're actually going to stop that ridiculous habit where season ticket sales were cut off right at the end of the Euro Qualifiers.

It’ll be interesting to see if they decide to drop the price on season passes while they're at it. 🤔

Real Madrid actually left their home ground back in 1948.

Arsenal actually moved from their original home back in 1913.

Manchester City made their move in 1923.

West Ham left their old spot in 1904.

Atletico Madrid relocated in 1923.

And Juventus shifted gears in 1908.

darkcyclist212 said:How long do they usually go on sale for annually?

It’s been like this for years now—right up until the final qualifying matches for the European championships.

Based on how things usually shake out, we might see them selling through August 28th, 29th, or maybe even the 30th this year.

To be honest, I can't quite recall—well, I don't actually know because I haven't been keeping close tabs on it—how it worked last year when the team didn't even make it into the European tournament. It's entirely possible the annual sales lasted a bit longer back then.
Yeah, it’s definitely doable. I actually found the exact details right here:

See, following a game or something similar, like watching American Idol, usually turns into a chat thread, and those threads are pretty much unregulated by default...
While the game is actually happening, or whatever show is on, the thread basically becomes a giant group chat where it's nearly impossible to enforce strict rules about what people can or can't say.

Everything else is up to the guys running the Football section, but in threads like these, you really can't stop someone from posting, whether they're rooting for Mexico to lose or crying tears of joy thinking about that 91st-minute goal when Lionel Messi scores... Or if they just want to talk about the play itself.

You've completely missed the point of football. 😉

People don't just talk about the action while the clock is running; they talk about it during the days leading up to a big matchup, too. That's when football becomes a major topic of conversation for everyone, even for folks who wouldn't normally care about the sport.

Well, look, it's not like this has ever actually worked anywhere else. Wimbledon, Manchester United, New York Red Bulls... they're all just massive flops. The closest anyone has come is Hapoel Katamon Jeruzalem, and honestly, they might actually pull it off—they're currently in the same league as the "original" Hapoel Jeruzalem and arguably even stronger, sitting right at the top of the second division—but the thing is, they've had political backing from the very start, which is unlike any other fan-owned club in the world.

Personally, I find the way people loudly and aggressively broadcast their own ignorance and lack of education much more interesting than that ritualistic hate speech at the beginning of the "verse."

I’d be embarrassed to shout out something like "two plus two equals five," even if I was just caught up in the crowd.

And man, the irony is just peak when you actually know the history behind the name of the club those loudmouths are cheering for.

Carl Hernandez3 said:If our dear summer "visitors," the Czechs, show up to a Sparta vs. Red Star match in Prague and go absolutely wild chanting MEXICO, while the Deli respond with Mexico... and from what I hear, that happened at the Marakana too.

Man, even the Barbarians from Mexico haven't pulled stuff like that at a
JHA game. 🤦
Andrew Hayes6 said:We’ve all seen how much our offense struggles when Duvnjak is stuck on the bench. He's really the only one giving us some actual structure and ideas in the paint. Without him, the whole attack feels like a total grind. I have a lot of respect for Vujović, though, and I'm honestly rooting for him to eventually step up and take over for Babica. That said, let's be real—it's hard to imagine any coach actually leaving Duvnjak out of a major tournament lineup.

[basketball2015]We've seen what happens to our rhythm when Tomić isn't out there; he's basically our only source of offensive creativity... it’s tough to see any coach pass on him for a big tournament... I don't know... maybe they'd go with that useless washout Planinić???

urbanhawk17 said:It wasn't that Ace got rid of him; Tomic was actually the one expressing gratitude.

Aha. I saw that.

Right in the same spot where it claimed Sammir was going to be this massive signing for Dinamo. 👍
Walter Hughes53 said:In my opinion, we don't have anyone else.

That’s a fair point, but I think we should consider what Vujovic mentioned—how he wouldn't even take Dustin to the tournament if the guy kept showing up perpetually "exhausted," unprepared, and claiming to play "heroic" offense and defense (as if there aren't four other guys on the court helping him out).

It took us decades of rough, painful years in basketball before we finally found someone like Baja (Ace) to help us get over that inferiority complex regarding being the "best center in Europe" just because someone played for big-name FC Barcelona (yet always plays like an amateur for the national team). 🙄

Honestly, even in soccer, we have that one massive star from Barca who basically hasn't played a decent, honest game for the national team yet.
Thomas Brown25 said:Stephens is going to drop 9 goals tomorrow

At least three of our guys are sidelined by injuries tomorrow. We're looking at Dusty, Sheba, and... well, someone else will have to step up.

If we were actually playing in the finals, I'm sure everyone would magically be healthy.
My stomach honestly turns every single time I hear Babcock start yelling about some "seventh player." 🤮
Something smells absolutely foul around here.

Is it corpses?

Or just straight-up crap?

Honestly, it's hard to tell...
Joseph Clark37 said:Congrats to Norway!👋

As long as Gobchev keeps rambling on about how God won't let them make it to the finals. And honestly, those casual fans who only tune into handball during the championship rounds once a year—who couldn't care less about what's actually happening in American handball or sports in general—well, they can just deal with it. 🙂

You really get on my nerves.

And not just because of this, but just in general.

I'd hate to be in your shoes.
electricorca112 said:Finishing the regular season this way gives the Norwegians such a huge psychological edge heading into overtime.

And just to follow up on that: After a game like this—especially losing in such a gutting fashion—having to play again just 24 hours later? We wouldn't stand a chance against a team like Chile, let alone someone as tough as Canada. If the other guys have had an entire day to rest both physically and, more importantly, mentally and emotionally, we're basically cooked.
It actually started off pretty strong since we were playing such disciplined positional football, but then the exact thing everyone was bracing for happened—they just outran us, and that was the end of it. 🤷
Joseph Kim said:Man, Zlatko Horvat was so incredibly foolish to take that deciding penalty in the finals. Honestly, part of me is almost glad we lost because someone that incompetent shouldn't be walking around with an ounce of pride. He should probably just change his name, get a haircut, and disappear into some tiny town in the Midwest far away from the US.

If you really want to point fingers, blame the coach who sent him out there to take that shot right after the previous one missed.
